## What is DropBeat?

How well do you really know your music?

DropBeat turns your favorite songs into a fast, addictive quiz — solo to practice, with friends on the couch, or in a duel against anyone, wherever they are.

A snippet starts playing, and you tap. The faster you're right, the more points you score. Keep your streak alive, stay one step ahead of everyone else, keep playing.

THREE WAYS TO PLAY
Every round asks you one of three questions — sometimes you guess, sometimes you sort.

Artist Quiz — "Who sings this?"
The song plays, you recognize the voice: which artist is behind it? Four options, one hit.

Title Quiz — "What's this track called?"
Same game, different question: guess the right song title before the clock runs out.

Timeline — "Which year?"
This is where it gets clever: place the song chronologically on your music timeline — older, newer, or right in between. The more songs you place, the trickier it gets.

GAME MODES

Training — your solo warm-up
No opponents, no pressure: just sharpen your music knowledge round after round. Ideal for a quick session, and the perfect warm-up before you take on your friends.

Hot-Seat — one round, one device
Phone in the middle, and go: everyone takes a turn, taps their answer and passes it on. The loudest fun for a night in, a party or a long drive — and nobody but you needs the app.

Timeline Duel — the 1-on-1 that never sleeps
This is where it gets tactical: you hear a song and place it in the right spot on your timeline. Then comes the twist — your opponent bets on whether you got it right. It's turn-based and asynchronous, so you play when you want and your opponent follows. Challenge a friend to a duel that can run for days.

Before each game you pick your song pack, and that sets the tone. DropBeat comes with a growing selection of curated packs across eras, genres, themes and single superstars: from timeless all-time hits and whole decades to party, film & TV or artist specials. ### 0.7.0 — 2026-08-10

DropBeat now has a Daily Challenge: one shared 5-song quiz every day, the same for everyone, with a streak that keeps track of how many days in a row you've played. You can now share your Daily Challenge and Duel results as a slick, branded image straight from the app. This update also brings three new song packs — German Rap, 2010s Hits, and Hip-Hop — adding 300 more songs to guess. A crisp countdown sound now plays right before every round starts, and Solo Quiz shows exactly how many seconds you took to answer. We also fixed a rare issue where a failed Duel move could leave your game out of sync with your opponent's.

### 0.6.4 — 2026-07-31

This update polishes the experience and adds a small but nice touch:

• Reduce Motion — DropBeat now follows your iOS accessibility setting, so decorative animations calm down while gameplay stays snappy.
• Friend notifications — you're now notified when someone accepts your friend request.

Plus fixes:
• Timeline Duel controls now fit on smaller screens (iPhone SE).
• The Matches pull-to-refresh no longer gets stuck spinning.
• Signing up again with the same email after a cancelled sign-up now works.
• Fixed a few wrong covers in the onboarding demo.
