I believe it will be more convenient if we can share by phone number as when she’s by email and they not have access at that moment to email hard. But if they can access by phone number much easier Thanks ### 4/5 — Please rename your app *2025-02-08, version 216.30* The app has the same name as apple's passwords app which makes it difficult to select the right app to get the autofill. This is by far the most annoying aspect of the app. Other than that, it's a decent password manager with very basic features. I enjoy password sharing, security dashboard, security with passphrase, support for 2FA, and ease of use. It could be better by having separate categories for payment cards and online accounts, have an extra category for notes, such as door codes, computer passwords, software licenses, and more options for passwords generation, such as hyphenation. ### 2/5 — autolock function not working *2024-09-08* The settings contain a function to auto-lock the app either after you close it or after specified intervals. I have had mine set to autolock after 1 minute. This morning it was still open and visible even though I had not used it since waking up. I left it open yesterday at some point. Last May, I had to change as many passwords as possible b/c I handed my phone to a server to apply a coupon to my bill not realizing I had left the Passwords app open. It also failed to autolock then as the server was gone for about 10 mins then after they returned my phone to me, I saw all my passwords were visible to anyone and was concerned for my financial accounts given the inadvertant password exposure to the server and possibly others at the restuarant it may have been handed off to add the coupon. This is clearly a major safety flaw in the app. ### 2/5 — Way to basic *2023-05-20, version 216.25* Will move on to it when the basic features are all there. Also think of a way to help us migrate. ### 1/5 — Am I doing something wrong? *2022-08-03* I really want to use the Dropbox Password Manager since I’m a paid user of Dropbox, but I can’t get past the setup on my ipad. I’ve followed the “4 steps” to setup as indicated in the email I got from Dropbox, but it switches me to their Safari on Mac app, and it says it’s not compatible with my device. When I go directly to the Ipad password manager app, it won’t let me go through setup because the only option I have is that “I’ll connect later” I feel like I’m in an endless loop to nowhere. Deleting this app because it does absolutely nothing ### 1/5 — Disappointed Dropbox Fan *2022-06-29, version 216.21* I’ve had Dropbox since they first launched their 2gb free service back in something like 2010. I’ve been a loyal fan since day 1. When they launched passwords I immediately made the switch and every day the switching costs grow with my regret in using what feels like an abandoned platform. Still no iPad app so I’m using the iPhone version on my IPad and it won’t even sync correctly to my phone and desktop. Oftentimes passwords I add or change on my iPad never show up elsewhere. I’m disappointed in a company I’ve trusted for over a decade. Do better. ### 4/5 — Fantastic, but… *2022-06-04, version 216.21* Everything about Dropbox Passwords works wonderfully, but the lack of an iPad app is a MASSIVE issue. ### 1/5 — Unable to set up unless I already have this app installed *2022-06-03* The logic to get this going is flawed, seems to install it I need to either reset my account, which I don’t want to do at this time or have a device that has Dropbox passwords already installed, seeing that this is my first attempt to install this, I don’t already have it installed. Spent time on chat with support and got nowhere with them… only option is to leave a bad review and hope that someone from the product team will do something to fix this issue. ### 2/5 — Very disappointed!! *2022-05-31, version 216.21* I have a Dropbox Professional account. I setup this app on my tablet and it installed without any issues. However, when I’m logging into an app I have to go to “Passwords” twice. Once for my username/email and again for the password Furthermore, I’m not able to login to this app on my iPhone. It says it is sending a code to my other device (my tablet), but I never receive it. I tried using my recovery words twice without success. I’ve been using “Secure Safe” for years with no problem. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t sync *2022-05-22, version 216.21* It’s ironic that a password manager offered by Dropbox has trouble syncing. Three stars because I get it for free with my Dropbox subscription, but otherwise the app is a bit disappointing. ### 3/5 — Could be better *2022-04-04, version 216.20* Switched over to this from Lastpass as loved that it was included as part of my subscription. The app itself is very easy to use and navigate (I’d expect nothing else from the Dropbox design team 🤟) but as others have commented, the functionality is a little basic. Most annoying thing is not being able to create a new login/password at the time I actually need it in the browser. You have to close the browser, find and open Dropbox passwords, create a new login, copy that password, and then go back to the browser and paste it in. Very frustrating! ### 2/5 — Disappointing password manager offering the bare minimum *2022-03-15, version 216.20* Pros - Saves your password and allows you to autofill - Don’t have to fork out extra money if you have a Dropbox subscription Cons - Passwords don’t sync across devices properly - some devices will have up to date passwords, the others won’t (password sync was the primary reason for me using this app!) - Support are pretty much useless and if you don’t have a subscription you get no support at all - Passwords can’t be saved or created without having to close what you’re doing, creating or recording the credentials on the Passwords app before going back to the original app to input those generated details. I have wasted so much time trying to figure it out. There are suggestions to Dropbox to fix this (more than a year ago) and this still has not happened. Frequently when I open the app, it is completely unresponsive. It won’t respond to any input. I have to force close the app (flick app up from the app switcher) and launch it again to make it responsive. However, it’s all glitchy when opening it for the day and I have to terminate the app and open again at least twice. There’s not many options for categorizing and auto-login doesn’t work. I tried for two weeks to get it open. I made the mistake of deleting it. Their ways of getting info back are beyond. If you don’t have this on another device, say goodbye to your passwords. Dropbox should not have released it before adding some essential features such as two-factor authentication records, sensitive documents, compromised password watch at minimum. The options for what can be recorded is very limited. Today passwords are a must for every website and they have to be changed seemingly at the whim of every website. My password book ... What a mess, with old passwords crossed out and new ones scribbled in the margins and then scratched out again. Craziness. Dropbox has taken a sensible, clean, easy approach and solved what for me, is the biggest problem on the internet. ### 5/5 — Simple and awesome *2021-05-21* I don’t have much experience with other password managers besides this one so I don’t have much to compare it to; however, My dad uses keeper and I’ve been on there a couple times and one thing I noticed is it has more features but is also harder to use. One thing that’s kind of refreshing about dropbox passwords is it’s very simple and straightforward. For some people that’s a bad thing but I really appreciate it. Some people just need simple software that doesn’t have much features. You just add your password, the email, the website, and you’re done. I’ve only had it a day, but if you tried it out when it very first launched and had issues (like I did) maybe give it another try now. I have no doubt that eventually this will be just as strong as other password managers. Far, far, far superior to SplashID which I have been using for the past few years. Great that it syncs seamlessly between devices i.e. mobile, windows and Mac. Yes, it would be awesome if the iPad app was actually designed for iPad but it doesn’t stop me from using it. Secure *2020-08-15* I deleted LastPass and use Dropbox Password (DBP) exclusively. Dropbox is easy to use and intuitive. I like the interface, and when choosing new apps that’s important to me. Yes, there are lots of password managers out there. Yes, there are other password managers with more features. For me, I don’t need a feature rich password manager. DBP’s localized security is fantastic.
