### 3/5 — Where is my Data?

*2024-02-22*

I like this app a lot, when I have data. 70% of the time, my water usage is updated daily with a 48 hour delay - so today (Thurs.) I would see my usage from Monday. However, 30% of the time the data may not be reported for a week or more. It’s been 8 days! Where is my data? It’s so frustrating. I’m in the middle of fixing leaks and trying to change habits to use less water and I have no feedback. I cannot depend on this app to have consistent data, and without data it’s useless.

### 2/5 — App not working

*2023-05-01*

The last recorded date for usage is April 10, 2023. I have reloaded the app and still no new recordings. I try to go to ‘support’ and get a message that it can’t be accessed. My iPhone is up to date so that is not the problem. I am sure support could help if I could get to them. I like checking weekly usage to make sure we have no irrigation leaks. Any suggestions on how to get this app working?

### 4/5 — City of Austin TX Reccomended

*2020-12-28, version 2.3.7*

The benchmark on consumption vs similar neighborhood homes was great to see and motivate adjusting our habits.

### 5/5 — Dropcountr = helpful app

*2020-09-11*

I love the Dropcountr app. I’ll check my usage a couple times a week and I’ve used it to fine tune my irrigation system to help conserve water and lower my water bills. Thank you Dropcountr.

### 5/5 — So helpful!

*2020-09-02, version 2.2.12*

This is such a great tool!

### 5/5 — Please provide it for my area!

*2020-09-01, version 2.2.12*

Omg I’d love it if my water utility offered this service! The customer service is top notch!!

### 5/5 — Phenomenal App!

*2020-08-20*

I love this app and the developer. It has so many data points and it helped me figure out a major leak at my house. It literally saved me $15 a month in water fees and from a free app. Every city utility should provide this to their customers, especially with our focus on water consumption and waste. Also, when I have a question about how the program works or calculates usage, their customer service responds every time. Thank you for your product.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-07-01*

I’ve been using this app for my house for a year or so and recently started using at my business. We experienced a leak and it alerted me right away! Also helped my identify patterns of usage to improve efficiency. Very user friendly. I had a problem with my dashboard today and customer service got back to me ASAP. Definitely recommend!

### 5/5 — Great added detail

*2020-06-22*

Had an issue, staff were very quick to help re-assign my account correctly.
Alison was very helpful and went beyond the normal customer service to help me in a very friendly manner. Great app for some additional insight into your usual/billing.

### 5/5 — Shows water usage down to the hour!

*2020-04-02*

Dropcountr works. Very nicely. I don’t understand the reviews saying that it only has monthly data. Spend a few minutes learning to use it! I just went back and looked at HOURLY data from last October. It has monthly, daily, and hourly data, in gallons used. Very helpful.

I would suggest that the images in the App Store be improved to show an hourly graph. And there needs to be an onboard tutorial that shows how to navigate it. Not enough to lose a star. I figured it out quickly.

### 4/5 — New visibility

*2020-01-22, version v2.2.2*

The app does what it aims to do and does it well. Minus one star only because it could do so much more. I’d love to see the capability for CSV data downloads and IFTTT connect ability.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Still broken - good enough for government work

*2024-02-03, version 6.6.5*

Really? Can anybody make this app work? It’s been broken for ages now. What a joke.

### 1/5 — Current version won’t load

*2023-09-14, version 6.5.10*

The current version doesn’t load on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I get a back screen and then the app quits.

### 1/5 — Black Screen

*2023-01-25, version 6.3.7*

App no longer works. It was great when it did over a year ago, but now when I launch the app on my iPhone nothing loads. It’s just a black screen. Help!!!

### 1/5 — New user registration doesn’t work

*2023-01-11*

The new user registration doesn’t work. It wants information that there isn’t a place to put it or is out of place. Example, it wants your email address, but the box to put it in is crammed between other text and not below where the other boxes are. Then, it wants your account number and address, but there is no box to put address. When you Verify account, it wants your name again. So basically, you can’t create a new account.

### 1/5 — Black screen

*2022-10-31, version 6.3.4*

The most recent app does absolutely nothing. They probably discontinued it and couldn’t even bother to tell me.

### 1/5 — There was a problem

*2022-05-05, version 6.3.0*

Just received my first water bill for my water and have the app already downloaded I put in all of the information it asked for and it keeps telling me something went wrong I want to use it but if it’s giving me this much trouble I may just uninstall it

### 1/5 — Can’t get past the zip

*2021-10-11, version 6.0.0*

I’ve downloaded this app with no problem. I followed the steps to create an account. The first step asks for my zip code. I enter my zip code and I get the following message back: We don’t currently have a relationship with water utilities in your geographic area. Now that’s not true. I have neighbors and friends in my area/city that use this app.

### 1/5 — Good when it works

*2020-08-30, version 2.2.12*

Since the last update it doesn’t work. Always logs me out and it either doesn’t read my usage or it’s showing it incorrectly.

### 1/5 — Horrible, can’t even sign up.

*2020-06-22*

When was this designed? 1987?
After I download it it asks for and finds my utility then asks for my account number and account name which I have. But there are 4 blank fields that want some kind of entry but 2 of the fields are completely blank above and below with no label. I’ve tried putting the two pieces of information asked for (my info account number and account name as it appears on my bill) into the 4 empty fields in every way possible but when I hit the “Register” button nothing happens. No help or email or phone number except “Forgot my password” and that did nothing as well useless!!!!!

**Developer response:** Hi there,
Thanks for your feedback, we rely on open dialogue with people like you to make our product better! I'm not positive if this is your solution, but my sense is that you have dark mode activated on your iPhone. I recently activated this too, and was confused when I went to test the Dropcountr app - the fields, like you said, were blank!

We don't support darkmode *yet*, but plan on releasing that shortly. Will you try registering with dark mode off, and see if that helps? Otherwise, would you mind reaching out to us at support@dropcountr.com to get to the bottom of this?

Please do reach out, we want to reconcile your issue. Again the email is support@dropcountr.com

### 1/5 — For Austin: Only Monthly Data and not even current

*2019-09-06, version 2.1.0*

Basically just gave them access to my historical water usage and got nothing for it. Your Austin utility bill is more up to date and insightful that this app. Also they don’t even have a place for you to say how many pets you have. Dogs use water too! Please include a way for people to add this info and adjust your estimates accordingly.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Reduced water usage by 28%

*2021-06-19, version 3.0.0*

Extremely helpful!

### 5/5 — very helpful and simple

*2021-06-19*

I really have appreciated the monthly emails showing my water usage in comparison to my goals and the usage of people around me. It has helped me be more aware of how my simple adjustments affect my conservation and also my costs.

### 5/5 — Good app - utility might not have all the features

*2021-05-13*

Had an issue with the initial login but Alison from customer support was very kind and helped me.

The app is much easier to access and is prettier than my utilities web portal

FAQ on the website is rather helpful - seems my utility company only reports updates every month (even though on the utility website it shows an image of the app with daily usage) - I’ll call them up to see if they can upgrade my meter.

Suggestion to the developer to show the features that the utility company and/or meter supports. I think you put a lot of work into your app for all of your tenants. This would show customers what value your app provides that they are missing out on and the additional data they could be getting. E.g. showing that users who only receive monthly reports could get daily or hourly reporting if they contact their provider for a new meter.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-05-04, version 3.0.0*

This app was a lifesaver. We have a vacation property and not always there. A couple of busted sprinklers made this app indispensable. Probably saved us hundreds of dollars.

### 5/5 — Useful for a drought prone city

*2021-04-17*

I appreciated getting monthly updates about our usage as we had a garden that needed watering. Seeing its high usage, we added a rain barrel to catch water which was very useful.

### 5/5 — Great app for water conservation!

*2021-01-13*

Love being able to track my usage and get leak alerts. I was surprised how much water I was using, especially with my sprinklers this past summer. We’ve been able to get our usage down thanks to using Dropcountr!

### 5/5 — Thank You Customer Service

*2020-12-29*

Needed to switch owners of account (within same family). Contacted Customer Service and Alison addressed the issue. What was really surprising was she wanted to know if everything worked after. Wow, a company that cares about their customer. Very refreshing!

Now for the app. This is a fantastic app that alerts me to any potential water problem sooner than the few days it usually takes the local water department to notify me of a problem (specifically over a weekend). This is nice insurance for a second property that is not 100% occupied. I hope my primary living city offers this to their customers soon.

### 5/5 — Water Monitoring App

*2020-12-29*

This app info was sent to me by my water company. I’ve set it up on my phone & it works perfectly. I can now easily monitor our water usage & compare it to the average use of my neighbors.

### 5/5 — Helpful App

*2020-09-17*

Very useful app for determining when and where your water is used. For example hourly and daily stats help figure landscape use vs in house use. Also helped me find that I had a leak since it showed water use overnight. Definitely recommend.

### 5/5 — Very useful app

*2020-09-15, version 2.2.14*

This tool helped me to figure out the issue when my water bill went doubled. I recommend this app.
