Thats the main reason I bought it and until now it hasn’t been reliable enough for that because it shows water usage that doesn’t exist even when shutting the water main. ### 3/5 — Pretty Good, but needs revision *2026-06-03* I have no real complaints about the device or the app. The only thing I suggest is they allow people to tag previous events. For instance, the device takes a few seconds to notify you that water is being used. However, in that time, the usage can stop and it’s too late to tag it in the app. ### 2/5 — 5 stars once you fix a tiny thing *2026-05-25, version 3.3.0* Your app registers as a browser on iPhone, so every time I scan a QR code or click a link it opens in Droplet. This is true even after I confirm Chrome is my default browser app in iOS settings. Somehow your app is capturing all links and QR codes. Just ask ChatGPT how to fix this and do it in Xcode. It won’t be hard, then I’ll give you 5 stars here and on Amazon. ### 4/5 — Please let me change the notification sound! *2026-05-24* This thing works great, but if it detects a leak or a running toilet in the middle of the night, I need it to wake me up! That little chirp isn’t cutting it. ### 4/5 — Good App. Great insights *2026-04-21* The fixture identification is beta so am looking forward to it being refined. I am doing my part to tag fixtures multiple times to help the app learn. So far the app is accurate and is providing a significant amount of knowledge on my water use. For a device that requires no pipe cutting, it’s fantastic. ### 4/5 — Not Bad *2026-04-07* Overall, not too bad. It’s tough if you have a whole home water softener that often pulls water, since it’s a small amount that the droplet sees quite often (which is a plus) and alerts on many times, even after training. **Developer response:** Thank you for providing your valuable feedback! To start, installation of the flow sensor is amazingly simple. 1) Clamp it to a pipe, no tools required 2) Plug it in 3) connect to it with the app 4) Follow the app prompts to set it up 5) Let the app detect your installation and it will set the sensor up comp,Emely for you That’s it, now the app itself This app has a clean layout where you can swipe left or right to view previous days trends. You can scroll up and down to see usage in your house by water outlet. Room, device, you name it. This feature is in beta and uses AI to learn trends and locations The app will notify you if your daily water usage goes over a certain gallon total used by day, that you set. The app will notify you if it detects a leak. You can review amount used by hour and you can review live gpm. There have been several enhancements to the app since I put me meter in and I’m sure it will only get better Great app, great device. ### 2/5 — Requires app update to use app *2026-02-21* They release an app update and then force you to update the app even though Apple's auto update mechanism hasn't had a chance to distribute the update, it had been one freaking day. And I am trying to find out why I have high usage, the old version worked enough to send me the notification. If its fully functional, feel free to update your feedback here! - Development Team ### 4/5 — Need some tweaking *2026-02-10* I have been researching these devices and having worked with Ultrasonic flow measurement devices I am leaning this way. I downloaded the app to see what it can do. I can’t get past setting up my home. Once you setup an account you go to setup your home but it jumps me into setting up the device that I don’t have yet. I managed to setup 1 bathroom. You can’t go back and are stuck at this point unless you have the device. If there isn’t a way to fully setup your home then that’s a deal breaker for me. I’ll keep trying. I would love to see a demo. I don’t buy anything unless I see it in action or a simulation of it. Vague doesn’t work for me and this app isn’t either. If I get this resolved I’ll update this review. ### 3/5 — Droplet itself is great, app can be improved. *2025-12-20, version 3.1.0* Just four days in after installing Droplet. App guidance to get started, pairing, integration with Home Assistant - all was super smooth. Now, using the app for a few days isn’t as great. First, the summaries - only faucets, toilets and showers are shown with major usage (such as washing machine) somehow grouped under toilets. Sure it’s in beta, but seems weird. Calibration - went through about 20L of water, 2L at a time as it kept reading 1.6-1.8L (and I checked my bucket scale with another cup. It just kept telling me to do it again and again instead of adjusting the calibration. Frustrating. Lastly, the tagging sometimes doesn’t work as the flow sometimes doesn’t show until 10-30 seconds later (empty graph that gets backfilled) and by that point the thing I wanted to tag is no longer running. Also, some guidance on tagging would be helpful - should I tag washing machine every time it adds a bit of water? Every time it flushes? What is that all used for anyways? ### 3/5 — It’s ok. But definitely not wow *2025-06-06* I’ve had my Droplet for about a month and it does about what I expected. It senses water use and alerts you if there’s a high water event. The app feels very 1.0 or even beta. There’s not much intelligence to it and it doesn’t seem offer much value. I’m surprised that the fixture tagging doesn’t include irrigation systems, water softeners, or anything beyond basic fixtures and toilets. When I try to update fixture labels, the app crashes. Every time. I would love to know what the roadmap looks like. It could be exciting. ### 1/5 — Need better instructions *2025-05-09* Very frustrating. No lights came on until down loaded the app. Would have been nice to know this little info. Tried everything , won’t connect to wifi even when router is near by. No customer service contact info. Also kind of useless because it’s not really learning anything or maybe it just takes a lot of time to learn. Will probably send it back and ask for my money. ### 1/5 — Missed Leak because of mandatory app update (still forcing updates) *2026-04-05* Title says it all, app forced a mandatory update and stopped sending push notifications. Froze a pipe and ran out 3,000 gallons while I was at work before the neighbor noticed and turned the water off for me. Water bill is probably going to be a good percentage of what I paid for the device in the first place. 0 peace of mind. ### 1/5 — BROKEN - Most Basic Functionality *2026-03-07* Until they resolve the following issue, which they have admitted to being a known bug via email, my 1 star review will remain. The current state of the app prevents the alerts from sending any notifications. Super basic stuff, and the core functionality of the app/product. Insane that it has not been fixed yet - completely worthless device without any sort of notification system in place for when you NEED to know if something is leaking/broken. ### 1/5 — Droplet App Has Amnesia *2026-03-03* Mine just got delivered today. I was really excited to monitor my water. The app showed my Osage for about 15 minutes and now shows zero. I restated the app, etc but still forgot about the previous readings. I am not happy. The device connected to my wifi and shows up in the router's clients list. Since installing it in November’25 it has saved hundreds of gallons and lots of money. I just wished it worked with Amazon Alexa devices so it would send an audible notification. ### 5/5 — Great addition to Smart Home monitoring *2026-04-05* Works flawlessly, if you have issues with it connecting then it is your wifi. I did test it with a 10 gallon usage and it was spot on. My monthly water usage bill been within few hundred gallons on a 8k monthly usage for the last 8 months. ### 5/5 — Excellent Home Assistant Integration *2026-02-05* Droplet has been a fantastic addition to my HA setup. Super smooth and reliable to track my whole home’s water flow and catch leaks. The data updates consistently and I’m actually able to see where water is used. Highly recommend it to anyone serious about smart home automation and leak prevention. ### 5/5 — Works great! *2025-12-21* I don't write a lot of reviews but this product deserved one for sure. It was super easy to install and it was accurate. I tested it by filling up a 5 gallon bucket and it was pretty much spot on in its usage calculation. I have been a using a competitor's product for a while. That product was Called Flume. It detects water usage by connect to the water main's meter and it can sense the meter spinning. I had a number of issues with that solution like the battery dying, calibration issues, the device shifting. The Droplet solution much easier to install. There are no batteries to worry about and it installs more snug to the pipe. The Flume was also limited in the brand and type of water meter it would work with. In a nutshell, it would not work in my main house but did work in my cabin. The Droplet device will work everywhere ### 5/5 — Fantastic :) *2025-07-24* Keep it up! ### 5/5 — Nice! Works great! *2025-06-25* App was easy to get started with, I put this in my parents house and we got alerted about some large volume of water being used when nothing was on. Found a toilet in the spare bathroom that was running intermittently and they’re on a well so never would have known until the septic overflowed or someone noticed ### 5/5 — Amazing *2025-03-18* Only a couple weeks in, and droplet has saved me from a huge waste. We had a downstairs toilet get hung up running, and burning almost 2 gal/min. I was getting ready for bed, and most likely would not have used this toilet again until I got home tomorrow evening. Droplet notified me of. potential leak and it took only a couple mins to isolate. 24 hrs at 2 gal / min is 2880 gallons I didn't waste. ### 5/5 — Essential for a Homeowner *2024-11-21* Genuinely impressed. Droplet was super easy to install within minutes. The DIY installation was straightforward even for someone like me who isn’t very handy. Having real-time insights into my water usage and being able to monitor my consumption is game changer for me. The adjustable alerts give me peace of mind. The app interface allows me to see hourly trends in water consumption in my home and daily water use disaggregated by use type eg toilet flushes, faucet flow, shower flow.
