The vet responds to your question quickly and the advice is TOP NOTCH!! They also send you an email checking on your pet to see how they’re doing! I’m one of those pet parents that’s always worrying about my cat, and Dr. Tail has gotten me through many issues with great advice and a lot of compassion and care! No lethargy, still drank water, still had an appetite etc… My primary Vet is closed on the weekends and they don’t have an emergency office, so I needed quick answers and Dr. Tail was really helpful! I was able to consult whether or not the issue was emergent or if we could wait the weekend out and get to the vet first thing on Monday. I did pay to have my question answered within 30 minutes, but I’d rather be out $20 to know I could avoid the emergency vet fees, than go in blindly if she was alright! The vet online was able to help me decide that she was going to be safe to wait the weekend out & answered all of my (many) questions thoroughly! It’s a great tool to have on hand if you’re in a pinch like I was! I couldn’t tell if it was just a bad cut or something more serious. Not having the money to go to the vet, I was extremely thankful to find this app. I thought for sure I would receive an automated response, such as “this question has already been answered, refer to, etc.” I was pleasantly surprised when I received a well thought out response by Dr. Brown that helped ease my concern and gave me legitimate solutions to care for my cat. As always, they recommended ultimately going to the vet to be sure. But using the advice given, I was able to use antibiotic cream vs an expensive ointment prescription from the vet to help heal my cat’s wound. I was even more surprised when I received a text a few days later checking in on us! Did the online survey and submitted a question. I downloaded the app as my verification message prompted me to. But once I put my number and code into the app it asks to use my activity. It doesnt give me the usual ‘Do you allow this app’ question so I click continue and it prompts me with the same ‘Allow dr.tail to use your activity’ I click continue once again and it prompts me with yet again the same screen. I deleted and redownloaded the app but it still does the same thing… don’t know if its my phone or just the app. ### 1/5 — No response since 9/7/22- over 3 weeks *2022-09-29* I have been a vet tech since 1995 and I communicate with pet owners daily. When I saw this lump on my hamster, I wasn’t sure if it was an abscess or a tumor on 9/7. I tried this site to see how it worked so that I may refer it to clients. On 9/8, my hamster was seen by the vet I work at, and it was diagnosed as an inoperable tumor. I was sending in a question to see what the time response was. My question has still not been answered. Pet parents who download this app with the expectation that they could hold off from seeing a vet for 72 hours and then not get a response is inexcusable. I saw in the community section some pet owners state it’s been over a week. I understand this app is free, but the advertisement that questions are answered in 72 hours is false since I’ve been waiting since 9/7. We were looking for homely methods to help her but the problem was that we didn’t know what was wrong with her. I downloaded this app and immediately asked my questions. It took them over 48 hours to answer. By the time I had gotten a response my Guinea pig had already past away.
