Please do something. ### 2/5 — Crashes all the time *2025-06-28* I really really thought I had found my dream drum loop practice tool. The loops and range of rhythms and styles is fantastic. I especially love that the songs and drummers the grooves are from are also listed. But the app crashes like crazy. If I adjust the tempo on a track, it crashes. And then no matter how many times I quit and re-open or pick a different loop, it crashes. If you only ever want to hear samples at the original bpm, it’s fine I guess. But as a practice tool it’s not useful. **Developer response:** I sincerely apologize for the delayed reply! Uninstall Drumgenius. Log out of the Apple ID on your device and then log back in. Install the latest version of Drumgenius. Open the Drumgenius app, go to the Store page, and use the Restore function to recover your loops. I would love to see more world rhythms added to it, specially those from the Andes of South America… if you have some Festejo how can you not have Saya!!? Amazing app ### 4/5 — Great app! Sudden glitches *2025-02-17, version 3.2.2* I love this app. I use it to practice, and compose. Recently there have been lots of bugs and glitching issues. Should I delete it or redownload it? Not sure what’s wrong. There haven’t been updates in a long while. Hoping all is well, and wishing for the best! Mauro ### 2/5 — Won’t play my loops! *2024-09-26, version 3.1.1* I do love this app and use it to practice every day, but as of today my loops all do not play anymore on my iPad, I deleted and redownloaded the app to see if it would fix it but it didn’t, and now all my loops are gone and I have to re download each one. Would easily change to 5 stars if this issue was fixed and my loops worked again. ### 5/5 — Excellent *2024-09-25, version 3.1.1* An incredibly well conceived app. Fantastic range of looped grooves recorded with excellent fidelity and clearly categorised. High quality audio remains whilst changing tempo, option of clave alongside drums, reference to drummer/recording for further listening and a great, flexible metronome. Used every day for practise and teaching. Thank you, Drum Genius. Please check. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Sadly busted *2026-07-13* I was sad to leave a bad review but the app appears to be stale and have problems. All of the loops have some issue in the playback with a load of noise coming through and are unusable after purchase. I tried to leave a support message but after writing it up on the website it spits out an error when attempting to submit. Seems like a great app but sadly now doesn’t work and unable to leave the developer feedback. ### 1/5 — Buyer Beware, this app is busted *2024-09-08, version 3.0.2* I spent money for unlimited downloads and every time I try to download a groove it tells me it failed due to a network issue, my network is working 100% so the app is clearly at fault. Мауро Баттисти ### 1/5 — Subscription is a scam *2023-03-06, version 3.0.2* I paid the $8 for the subscription because many of these loops are great but it didn’t actually allow me access to the drum loops and was ultimately a scam. Until this is fixed, I would advise you only use their free trial and redownload when you are out of your 4 free songs, like the app has me doing despite paying. Bummer! I used to love this app but it gets me so frustrated while I am trying to practice that I might never use it again. ### 1/5 — App crashes while downloading loop *2020-09-14, version 2.0.3* I’ve been using Dg for a number of years and purchased the infinite credit packs when I first downloaded the app. Recently, whenever I try to download one of the loops, the app crashes. I’ve “restored purchases” under the store link and it confirms that I have purchased “infinite credit packs” but they won’t download. Has the app not been updated by the developer recently? I’m using it on my iPad running iOS 13.7. It worked great before, but now it’s not working at all. ### 1/5 — Expected better for an app that charges for loops *2020-07-07* When my phone screen locks and I turn it back on, a second loop will start and I have to restart the app. **Developer response:** Ciao my friend! Did you update to the latest version? Now DG includes 100 new loops, it's improved (bug fixed) and has new nice functions. Sorry my friend if it took long time. It's a very hard work to realize new loops. My aim is to reach 1000 grooves/rhythms. At the beginning DG included 120 grooves... It is SO much more inspiring to play with a real drum loop than a metronome. This app is a dream come true!! Wish I knew about it sooner!! ### 5/5 — Outstanding rhythm, time and groove development tool! *2026-01-23* I can’t recommend Drumgenius strongly enough as an outstanding, fun, tool and resource to complement one’s usage of a standard metronome. For what you get (for the cost of two or three cups of coffee)…having access to this entire groove library is hard to BEAT!
