### 3/5 — I love it but.......

*2019-02-23*

I like it a lot but it doesn’t play the notes with you, A person like me who is a beginner at taps and is use to playing by ear. having it play along with you would be a good feature and demonstrate how it’s played

### 4/5 — Metronome click?

*2018-02-03*

So far I like the functionality of the app. Just wish it had a metronome with and audio click. Maybe even one you can change the beat tones on.

**Developer response:** Hi, I'm glad you like the app! There IS actually an audio click in the metronome. Maybe you have the mute button on your phone enabled? That will also mute the audio click of the metronome. Changing the beat tones is a nice suggestion. I'll add it to my to-do list.

### 3/5 — A lot of rudiments but seems kind of incomplete

*2014-10-31*

This app has a lot of hybrid rudiments which is nice to have on hand but it's kind of "patchy" feeling. It says in the description it has sound samples to understand the rhythms too and I can't find anywhere in the app to play a sound sample of the rudiments.

### 4/5 — Extremely useful drum education app!

*2013-11-02*

Nice full screen pages of hundreds of rudiments, beats, independence exercises etc. all with audio examples, makes learning them easy. Only criticism is that to listen to the audio examples you have to press an area that is not clearly marked so it's easy to miss. Some audio examples don't seem to play very smoothly but good enough for what they are there for. Overall Highly recommended.

### 4/5 — Useful

*2013-10-04*

For practicing anywhere and everywhere, reminders about specific rudiments or learning new more obscure ones... This app is pretty cool. Took me a while to find the audio tracks and was pleasantly surprised when I did...however many audio tracks are missing and it makes it more difficult without their presence. The audio for some of the actual grooves are misleading though. No way is "hold the line" so fast and try as I may, I can read that's Rosanna but can't hear the audio resembling it at all:-) . The independence is set up assuming we all play double bass drum and I think it should be noted we can exchange left foot BD for hi hit pedal or put some useful independence like garibaldi stuff into the app. This is just my opinion on what I think is already a good and very useful app for drummers. Keep up the good work! Love it! A good investment.

### 3/5 — What happened to the metronome?

*2012-04-10*

I've had this app for some time and was slightly disappointed by the upgrade. This app used to have the ability to increase the tempo by the up/down arrows and was consistent with each rudiment. Now the app has "issues," with the nome. Some rudiments play at 125, others at 60.
It's a free app, i get that but if you would like donations or charged $.99 and fixed this you'd have a great app and a loyal following. Thanks for creating this app just fix it ok?

### 4/5 — Pretty Good

*2012-02-07*

I like how it has different rudiments and not just the 40 snare ones. I wish it would play the rudiment or groove so you can hear how it should sound.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2011-07-25*

This is a decent app. Considering I havent found a better one. I cant get it to play the rudiments. I may be doing something wrong though.

### 4/5 — bummed

*2011-06-22*

was looking for a drum machine to play along with . this just plays bits and pieces over and over again. won't be what your looking for if you want to play along with full songs. Won't bad rate it but just beware of buying if you are looking for a drum machine.

### 3/5 — decent library

*2011-01-06*

add more audio examples for hybrid rudiments and grooves...

### 4/5 — Snare grooves

*2010-10-17*

This app is fantastic but I must ask that you add snare grooves! With JUST snare. I really think this would complete the app! However it's still amazing lol

### 4/5 — Un must per chi suona la batteria

*2010-09-06, version 0*

Ha lo stesso difetto della versione lite, quando aumenti il tempo del metronomo il pitch del sample cambia, per il resto da avere x chi suona la batteria, bei groove, un consiglio agli sviluppatori e di inserire anche dei bei fill con audio annesso. Accattatevillo!

### 3/5 — Fix and it will be amazing

*2010-03-10*

Some of the rudiments are just not right (9st roll). I would like to hear all the rudiments also. It is great for my students but it needs more to maximize their potential.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No way to change the velocity

*2021-12-09, version 2.7*

It is not good. I can not change the speed of the pattern but only the metronome

### 1/5 — NO SOUND WHATSOEVER

*2019-08-25*

How can you have a drum app with no sound? Terrible app. Wasted my money.

**Developer response:** Hi. Sorry you feel the app is not worth the money. All the PAS rudiments and a lot of grooves do actually have sound recordings. Make sure your phone is not on silent mode and press the play button to hear it.

### 1/5 — How do you turn on sound

*2018-10-10*

Can’t hear nothing on here

### 1/5 — Update you stuff bro !!!!

*2017-11-16, version 2.1*

What is the deal is it that hard to update this app

### 1/5 — Worthless at this point

*2013-03-16*

I have comment on this app multiple times saying that the audio for certain this are bad. I'm a college student. This app is only helpful if I don't use the audio. If I try to show a student it and they listen to the sound they will learn it wrong.

Don't buy this app. It isn't worth it. When they decide to actually work on this app I will give them a better review.

### 1/5 — Pretty awesome..or used to be.

*2011-11-03*

It has a lot of rudiments...which is great, but there are more that aren't in here, and it plays the rolls as like quarter note rolls..if they made that like an actual roll(32nd notes)and made more sounds for the hybrids and added more hybrids too, I would love this a million times more than I already do. It's still pretty good though.

Soo I've been using this for a long time, like 2 years now, and this app has gotten worse. I recently downloaded the "lite version" and it's better than the one I paid for. This version can't speed up the rudiments anymore like it used to, and like the lite can, this doesn't have as many sounds as the lite(pataflafla specifically...), so yeah. This desperately needs an update, and more like a downgrade for this because honestly these past updates have made the app worse. We need a way to play the rudiment faster than at a quarter note beat. That's so ridiculously slow, that doesn't even help you learn it. My rating will go back up of they fix this thing.

### 2/5 — Doesnt work on ios11

*2017-10-05*

Was going to to start to work on some book reports and the app doesnt work bc i updated my phone makes me upset even tho i know they are probably gonna update it soon

### 2/5 — Please make 1 change

*2011-12-05*

I used to have the lite version and purchased better? App. It has many more rudiments and info, but if you can't increase the tempo like you can in the free version it's not near as helpful as it could be. I love the concept but went back to the free/lite version for practice. I would love to use the full version with this one change!!!! Is it that big of a deal to make it for all of us that are requesting it? I'm waiting!!!!!!!!!

### 2/5 — Pitch changes ...

*2010-04-18, version 0*

Nice grooves - but when you change the tempo, the pitch of the drums changes too... That sounds very Bad!

### 2/5 — Could be lots better

*2010-03-07*

I want to like this more, but it's got a lot of shortcomings. It feels like someone rushed it to market and cut a lot of corners. It's too bad because it's a good start.

Pros:
-Nice having the rudiments easily accessible, with recorded examples and tempo options
-The metronome is pretty user-friendly and intuitive
-Having grooves to play to/against is a nice idea

Cons:
-The drum sounds are really cheeseball, like an 80's casio toy
-When you increase the tempo of a groove or rudiment, the pitch of the recorded sounds increases too
-When you put your iPod Touch in sleep mode to turn off the display (saving battery) while playing to the metronome or exercises, the metronome becomes erratic and the exercises trail off and stop.
-There aren't many grooves (for Afro-Cuban there is only one example)
-Often there aren't recorded examples, just a metronome option (eg., the Independence and Breaks exercises)
-You can't change the sound of the metronome (eg. to a cowbell)

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — DrumLibrary

*2016-08-17, version 2.1*

kann ich nur weiter Empfehlen ,besonders für Schlagzeugschüler

### 5/5 — Drumstar

*2012-03-18*

Good app easy to use and learn those rudiments and other patterns

### 5/5 — Buy It Now!

*2011-05-26*

Drum Library is absolutely perfect for the beginner learning rudiments or any drummer wishing to polish their abilities or fancy a new groove to learn!
The tempo adjust is not the best but that aside this App is worth every penny or cent.
Simple to use too! 10/10

### 5/5 — Great app, but has its faults

*2010-12-30*

I like how it has all the rudiments, even in the lite version, and I also like the hybrids that you put in it (althought i couldn't find sextuplets). The only thing i didn't like was that some of the grooves weren't completely correct. Like the Steve Gadd one that was 50 ways to leave a lover, wasn't completely correct. Im not sure if it was just a good variation, but thats all i have to say about it. I still give it 5 stars because I feel it is a handy app to carry for any drummer.

### 5/5 — Good

*2010-08-28*

Don't be put off by the german- the app is in English . Rudiments you can speed up and play along with , grooves and a metronome. What more do you want?

### 5/5 — Great app

*2010-07-26, version 0*

This is a very useful app. It is good for learning a bunch of cool beats, and it has a metronome.

### 5/5 — DJ Pearl Masters

*2010-07-21*

I must say without a doubt, one of the best applications for drummers. Above and beyond customer support that went the extra mile to make sure that it worked right on the new OS. I can't thank the maker enough and I am sure that whomever tries it, will feel the same way. A very nice production. And it will only get better!

### 5/5 — OS4が原因でしょうか？

*2010-07-03*

iPhoneをアップデートしてから開かなくなりました。
改良をお願いします。
機能としてはとても素晴らしいです。
ベースの練習に重宝しています。
宜しくお願いします。

### 5/5 — WOW

*2010-02-20, version 0*

I'm definitely impressed, especially at the independents exercises....WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THIS!!!!

### 5/5 — Best drum app yet!

*2010-01-21*

I've been looking for a drum app like this for a long time. The beats are written large enough that you can read them if your iphone is on a music stand and adding the audio feature was a great update. Now i can listen to how the grooves should sound. I've wasted my money on so many others. Thanks and keep the updates coming!
