The new looper, the undo features, the ability to also roll in the decaying, smashed up loops is unlike anything else...anywhere. It sounds...real...because it documents whatever you do exactly as is. Really take the time to explore the delay mix, time, feedback, and the new looper and perfectly executed speed up slow down function. You simply cannot repeat yourself with this thing. If that is what you want, go for a cookie cutter, lol! Great to have this fantastic app back in action! ### 5/5 — Oh...The Freedom!!!!! *2014-05-07, version 1.2* I own many drum apps and this is the one I have most enjoyed playing live! The amazing liberating feeling from not having to worry about all the technical details like pads, grids, setup...etc just has to be experienced to be believed. Soon you will find yourself tapping away in totally abandoned bliss; rhythms and beats will jut stream out of you naturally... Responsive, beautifully simple, and great sounding, this app is a must have, especially now that it has Audiobus! Please update soon with more kits, or better yet, let us have the options to load our own sound. ;) ### 5/5 — A bangin' way to bang iOS drums *2013-09-23* Ok I must have a couple if dozen drum apps, but this one is amazing in all new ways. No interface, yet I'm able to get the kind of dynamic subtleties if drumming out of it that made me love the Agog app when I first got it way back when. What groovy possibilities, but this app is definitely more for the person who loves to play drums (as apposed to drawing events into a step sequencer). ### 5/5 — A must with AB and Cubasis *2013-09-18, version 1.2* It's better then most drum apps out... Sensitivity setting works well, too. Great job! I would just like an orientation lock option in-app, despite being able to swap axis on the settings screen. I can lock orientation tho on my own in the iOS multitask tray where the music controls are. Tip: use with audiobus and add the virsyn audioverb plugin to the effects slot. Nice sounds, nice and simple, nice use of the touch screen. I like it so - please sir, can I have some more? Another half dozen drum kits would be good (I guess the plan is for in-app purchases which is fine as long as they are fairly cheap) The option to have lines or patterns or areas marked on the screen might be good so you can see which drum's where. But it's a cracking start and I look forward to seeing where it goes. ### 5/5 — The best drum app yet for people with profound physical disabilities *2013-03-22, version 1.1* I work with children who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. This app extremely easy to play, the interface is uncluttered, the sound quality excellent and the immediacy of the sounds is superb. Combine this with the iPad's locking mechanism so that the child doesn't accidentally switch it off, you have a really great musical instrument for people who don't get to play such wonderful sounding drums with such ease and accessibility. ### 5/5 — Great! *2013-03-09, version 1.1* There are plenty of great apps with MPC style controls and drum sequencers. This app does things differently and I think offers a better interface/control system for actual playing as the very slight variations depending on where you hit adds a lot to the feel. I like to run it into Loopy HD with audiobus as I can get ideas with great sounding 'organic' drums down quickly. At this price its a steal. I hope the developer continues adding new kits and features! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Drum blind *2013-06-04* This drum app is the dumbest thing out! ### 2/5 — OK but Cajon poor *2019-09-04, version 1.4* Got this for the Cajon feature but wish I could have heard sounds before buying as I really don’t feel they bear much resemblance to a real Cajon. It’s only £2.99 but I’d rather not have wasted it. ### 2/5 — Nothing Special *2014-08-12* I admit I bought the app on a whim, but in my opinion, its not worth 1.99. There's nothing special about the apps features or performance. It is a run-of-the-mill sample trigger app. ### 2/5 — !!! can't turn the reverb off - cymbal comes always with kick *2013-03-08, version 1.1* Please fix that - when i see that something comes with audiobus support I'm exspecting something I can use for a serious pre-production - that means when there are 3 buttons for a delay fx unit there should be one button to turn that reverb off, too. I do not understand why in the JazzKit there is always a kicksound coming together with the ride cymbal - it is a very nice app and I hope you will take care of it and take this as motivation...regards ! ### 3/5 — Needs update *2014-11-17* Audiobus does not work in ios 8. I bought this app for that functionality. I can get the sounds elsewhere. Even though Audiobus is great. Good old fashioned record/quantize/cut/copy & paste features are really necessary tools for serious use. I can see myself using it a great deal with the above mentioned changes. The ability to use your own samples would be cool too! Missing stars will come with above mentioned changes. Great start! ### 4/5 — Please enable Background audio *2016-12-05* Absolutely fantastic app but i would also like to use it with midi while running in the background But currently the audio will be muted when the app is pushed to the background. It would be a five star app to me if that last missing feature would be added. It would be so cool to have inApp looping cabilities to export,etc. as well as saving presets once edited, etc. This app has ridiculous potential, and as it stands now really am loving it, i just want the icing too. the 5th star is for the icing. ### 4/5 — Nice to use *2013-09-01, version 1.2* Glad I got this. I especially Like that you can record and layer the loops. I also like you can customize the effects of the sounds. You can export loops as well. Well done. ### 5/5 — A table-tapping treasure! *2017-01-12, version 1.4* It is a rare skill to make an app that appears to be simple, is genuinely easy to use and intuitive, yet still capable of excellent results. Drums is one such app; producing very human sounding rhythms and is highly recommended to fellow sonic dabbler's for when a real feel is paramount. A few more drum kits would be nice, but for the price it's a steal. Nic ### 5/5 — Live Drumming *2016-10-13* If you are a finger drummer then this app will appeal to you. It is not just simple sample based triggers like a lot of drum pad type interfaces, but a sort of matrix of sounds so that every hit will sound a bit different. It is also velocity sensitive, giving more variation. It is not obvious where the different drums lay on the drum plane, but easy to figure out. If you are a good finger drummer you can stay consistent with the drums you want to hit with still having a bit of variation, and probably having some control over the variation too. However, some of us less adept drummers with finger drift will find we start hitting drums we didn’t intend. Overall though the interface gives a change to play some live sounding drums and percussion, not just machine sounding hits. ### 5/5 — Simply Brilliant! UPDATE *2016-06-12, version 1.3* Well done the developer. The easiest way to play or program computer drums I have ever tried and I have been programming drums right back to Cubase on the Commodore 64. Simply a breeze to do a shuffle with brushes. Definitely 6 Stars!!
