You have thought of almost everything a customer want to have in an app. From very realistic percussion sounds, well-balanced list of drum types and styles (all included in the app), amazingly cool designs on the drums, to an outstanding variety of contemporary backgrounds. If these were not enough, I got pleasantly surprised with the thorough set of controls for each of the drum components. I have not tried the MIDI input yet, however, I am very happy with this app so far. My heartfelt gratitude and congratulations goes to you for such a "customer in mind" app! ### 5/5 — Revolutionary *2012-09-23, version 1.3.1* At last, a developer has finally cracked the code of drumset apps on the iOS! I've downloaded countless other drum apps and none of them come near this app in terms of UI, sound, and most importantly, latency. I can crank out singles as if I were playing on my real life practice pad and this baby responds! This also is one of the more realistic flam producing drum apps I have tried yet. Ive only spent twenty minutes so far with this progam, but that was all I needed. If you've tried apps such as rattatap and been happy with it, this one will blow you away. As a drumset player, and a rudimentary snare drummer, I recommend this as the best choice in the app store for the discriminating drummer. Thank you so much Squeegees! Seemed very customizable, and boasts lots of sounds. First of all, it says that it is touch sensitive, but I didn’t find this to be true at all. Every tap, soft or hard gives you the same full-velocity sound. I also found the GUI to be irritating. Bright colors and flashing spotlights with every hit are just over the top. I wanted a more musical virtual drum playing app, but this is just more of the same thing you get from every drum-set-on-a-touchscreen app. Tried to get a refund, but that was not an option. I deleted the app and reclaimed the space- which was worth more empty than the cost of this app. ### 2/5 — Please fix latency issue!!! *2012-06-06, version 1.3* Great sounds awful latency issue. Would be awesome if you could correct it. ### 3/5 — Good sounds but problematic Midi *2022-08-29, version 2.0* I want to use this and want to like it, but using it with midi is a problem. Drums skip out and don’t play polyphonically via midi, meaning that simultaneous midi messages don’t make it through to Drum XD and it will drop sounds (is bass + tom on Cubasis 3 will only play tom) ### 3/5 — Goodbye Audiobus *2014-12-03, version 1.4.4* this is the best drumming app of all time... But please fix this audiobus issue. It never connects to it no matter how many times i tried. Please fix this 😔 ### 4/5 — With midi learn you can connect 2 e drum sets *2019-08-28, version 2.0* I used 2 ddrum ddti modules, a midi merger connected to my alesis iodock 2. It functions very well. Low latency, fairly easy to program midi with midi learn. However there seems to be an issue with entering manual midi notes. This app is a couple octaves off for some reason. Could be something on my end... I also haven't successfully added high hat pedals but I think I need to do something with my modules. Not sure about sample import yet hopefully it's something this app provides but the pre loaded samples aren't half bad. This is an early rating and will edit when I get everything working properly. Pretty happy so far. Pretty sweet rocking 2 different kick drums, 3 different snares, 5 toms, 2 high hat pedals (eventually) and 4 cymbals! ### 4/5 — I likes it. *2013-06-25, version 1.3.1* Except for it crashing sometimes if I try to add a new sound to a kit I have created it is great. Great Update! *2015-02-27, version 2.0* If you play them or if you sequence them, this is what your iPad has been missing. You will not regret the purchase of this app in the slightest. Capture a live performance to your favorite MIDI sequencer, clean up any mistakes, and play it back to Drums XD, then out to your favorite "DAW" via Audiobus or AudioCopy. It is a VERY impressive drum app. The factory sounds are great. The dynamic response is superior. The GUI is stunning. ### 5/5 — Yes! *2014-08-13, version 1.4.4* Finally, after years of trying countless drumming apps i found the one that actually rocks. The biggest surprise with this amazing app is the sound quality of the samples. When i play along to certain songs from my library i can't tell the difference. Drums XD gives you the ability to change the pitch of any drum or cymbal so you can get the exact tone you want. You can create your ultimate drumkit from countless types of bass, snare, tom and cymbal samples and arrange them on screen however you want. The responsiveness from your finger to the sound is right on. The visuals are gorgeous, with the ability to add some lighting effects while you play. I've only just begun to unravel what this app can do. I'm not a serious musician but i love music and always wanted to be one. This diamond of an app gives me enough tools to be creative and have fun at the same time. I could go on but i'm rambling and i've barely played with this gem for more than an hour. I rarely write reviews but i felt compelled to do so here since it's taken years to find an app like this . I love creating my own set and arranging the drums. The touch sensitivity is better than GarageBand and the samples are studio quality. I highly recommend Drums XD. There is a sample video on their site that shows it in action. You can record a drum track over your songs and save the recording. Thanks for making this App! ### 5/5 — Greatest Drum App Ever ! *2013-10-11, version 1.4* AWESOME DRUM & PERCUSSION APPLICATION ! I absolutely love this App and put on my earphones and jam away every day. In my opinion, look no further! I've searched and searched for a great drum app, but NOTHING even came close to Drum XD ! Most drummers are particular about each and every piece and placement of a typical Drum Kit. Now you can do the same with this APP. I love that I can pick, position every piece in the kit from MANY MANY choices, put them exactly where I want them to be, pick the size and tune each individual piece! It's like a mini version of a real drum kit. Also, I just love the SNARES in this App, you can do rolls and paradiddles and RIM Shots! He also gives you a ton of SNARES, CYMBALS, TOM TOMS AND KICKS to choose from ! Considering the limited choice in other APPS, this is paradise ;-) This software is such a bargain, I would have expected to pay much more. I hope you pass this one on to your drummer friends. It sounds great, looks great, and best of all is very responsive. It is also highly customizable. If you forego the traditional drum setup you can really play drums on this. There are some great congas and various percussion toys as well. In the interest of full disclosure, I did run into a small glitch caused by the sound engine used to achieve such low latency. But the developer responded immediately, it took literally seconds to fix, and has not reared its ugly head since. It should in no way dissuade you from this excellent app. I am very happy with this purchase and really enjoy playing along with my music collection and other streaming audio. ### 5/5 — The Best!!! *2013-05-24, version 1.3.1* This is by far the best sounding drum app!!! When you play with headphones or ear-pods it sounds very good. I have bought every drum app out there and this is the best. It was worth the $. Wearing headphones while playing this is key to making a clear sound and powerful bass. I have played drums since I was 3 and this app sounds the most realistic. You can also customize how you want your drums to sound. I haven't come across any major problems, except sometimes the drum set you create disappears or it won't let you build it.
