### 3/5 — Overly simplistic - room for improvement

*2026-06-18*

I was intrigued when I ran across this but very quickly decided that it’s not what I wanted. In my opinion it has room to grow. Here’s why. What’s your definition of “drink”? Typically a drink is determined based on the number of shots in it. Different drinks are given different weights based on the amount of alcohol. My typical “drink” is 4oz of whiskey over a single ice cube. While I classify that as 1 “drink” it’s technically 4! If I have 2-3 then you can see where we get very quickly. This app needs the ability to put in drink recipes (or have pre-loaded drink types) so that the user has the opportunity to reliably enter an honest record. The whole basis of this app is for the user to be honest with themselves about their consumption, but knowing what their actual count is starts with understanding the ACTUAL numbers. ESPECIALLY if that number is going into Apple Health!!!

**Developer response:** Hello Eric,

Thank you very much for your feedback. This was actually a deliberate design choice: we wanted to keep drink logging simple rather than making it overly sophisticated.

I completely understand your concern, but I’d like to clarify the Apple Health point. Drylendar saves data using Apple Health’s numberOfAlcoholicBeverages record, which Apple defines as “a quantity sample type that measures the number of standard alcoholic drinks that the user has consumed.”

Because of that, there is no approximation or custom interpretation on Drylendar’s side ; the value is stored exactly in the format provided by Apple Health.

### 5/5 — Great for visual people

*2026-06-13, version 2.1.0*

Love this app

### 5/5 — Cool app

*2026-06-10, version 2.0.0*

Responsive admin that will help you if the price is too much.

### 5/5 — Clear and simple

*2026-06-10*

Great app! Clean and pretty design, very informative. I like the simplicity of it. It adds some fun and challenge to invite friends and try to beat someone’s dry streak

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! Happy you like the design and the simplicity. Glad you're using Drylendar!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-06-09*

For those complaining about the black-and-white boxes despite paying for the subscription, the issue is in iPhone’s accessibility settings. Great app overall - so simple and effective.

**Developer response:** So nice to read your comment, simple and effective are words I like to read about Drylendar! Thank you for using it!

### 2/5 — Paywall

*2026-05-31, version 2.0.0*

App was good until paywall was added to edit days from before. $5 per month is too much to justify for a basic feature like that.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-22*

I’ve been using this app daily for the last 5 months and I love it. It’s so simple yet helpful. I always look forward to logging every day and it’s satisfying to see all the green boxes. I initially just wanted to cut back on drinking (which I did!) but now trying to keep my streak going for sober days. On day 39 so far without any alcohol and excited to see how far I go. This app gives me something to look forward to. To log an accomplishment every day really makes you feel good about yourself. I would just recommend a dark mode for this app :)

**Developer response:** So nice to read this comment, and congratulations for reducing and stopping alcohol! That's a great accomplishment! So happy that Drylendar can help!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-05-20, version 1.2.3*

Easy to use and exactly what I was looking for in this type of app

### 3/5 — :-( paywall

*2026-05-11, version 1.2.3*

Used to really love this app but recently important features were locked behind a paywall and it’s hard to justify $30 a year for it. Alas!

### 4/5 — Premium

*2026-04-30*

Premium account allows previous days to be updated and viewed

**Developer response:** Good morning and thank you for your feedback! I’m sorry to hear it was a bad choice from me. Can you please send me an email so I can unlock your account? Thank you! Best, François

### 5/5 — Visually appealing and easy to use!

*2026-04-29*

Downloaded on a whim, used it for several weeks on the free plan before buying a year subscription. It’s very easy to track your habits and it syncs directly with Apple Health. The colors are pleasing, the ability to write a note is a nice touch. The animation with balloons is my favorite part! Overall very strong UI design and a clear single purpose without extraneous clutter or trying to be a ‘lifestyle’ app. Thank you for a great app.

**Developer response:** So nice to read this comment! I'm happy you like the new design and that Drylendar helps you to track your habits. Thanks for the 5 stars!

### 2/5 — paywall added with no warning

*2026-04-27*

really liked this app until a paywall was added without warning, making it so you can’t see previous data of the amount you drank. not helpful for people who are trying to limit themselves to a number of drinks every week/month. i am someone who is tracking drinks casually and am not going to pay $5/month for something i could track in my notes app. i like the visual of this app but unfortunately will be looking for something else.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback. I understand this is a disappointing update, but the app is currently profitable at all, and I had to change business model to make it possible to continue working on it. Could you please send me an email so I can upgrade your account as a gift for being user for a long time? Thanks!

### 2/5 — Becoming paywalled

*2026-04-24*

Have had this app since January. Very helpful but features are becoming paywalled. You can’t even see how many drinks you put down for a day if it’s more than 2 days ago.

Not a huge deal cause there is color coding but really? I’m entering the data myself and you are now hiding it from me. Will start looking for other apps that don’t pay wall data that you enter yourself LOL

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for using Drylendar, and sorry if it was a wrong choice to lock past days.
Could you please send me an email so I can compensate your bad experience?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — They got greedy and ruined it!

*2026-06-27*

This app USED to be amazing. It genuinely helped me cut back on my drinking quite a bit. However, they’ve made it so you need to pay 5 dollars a month just to be able to see the dates on the calendar and to be able to go back and edit if you forgot to log a day.

5 dollars a month for that is insanity. It’s always such a shame when a small company that puts out a decent product goes onto ruin it in an effort to get more money. The apps practically useless now and it also looks horrific. There’s no numbers on the calendar anymore, just a bunch of lock symbols.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for your message and sorry for the inconvenience. Can you send me a message so I can unlock you? Thanks!

### 1/5 — Color coded feature got removed

*2026-05-12*

I have been using this app since two months, but suddenly with an update the app turned colorful months into black and white. I thought maybe free users have this, so i bought free trial, to confirm this, but still it is black and white, which is very annoying and makes it hard to see the streak. Actively looking to switch to any other app, because bills can’t be that high.

**Developer response:** Hello there! Sorry for this bad experience, it’s because an accessibility option is enabled on your phone. Can you contact me so I can help you to get the colors back?

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2026-05-01, version 1.2.3*

I agree with other reviewers, adding a paywall without any notice or meaningful improvements feels frustrating. It seems like functionality was reduced just to push users toward paying.

### 1/5 — Premium Features

*2026-04-30, version 1.2.3*

This was a great app that I got a bunch of my friends on and we liked the features, the UI, and how easy it was to use. However, more and more features are now behind a paywall, to the point that there is nothing I can record other than that day’s count, recorded ON THAT DAY ONLY. I also cannot add notes anymore because that’s behind a paywall as well. This is not helpful. Very disappointed. I understand the app needs to make money but I’d prefer ads over this.

### 1/5 — app is useless now

*2026-04-28, version 1.2.3*

Found this app a couple months ago and was loving it. Now we can’t do anything without having to pay. Checking or logging previous days. App doesn’t even show what you get for paying. $5 a month is insane. Real bummer

### 1/5 — No longer usable without a subscription

*2026-04-26*

This app had a nice start, but the developer has become greedy and has gradually removed free features. Now the most basic function of the app, logging alcohol use, is fully paywalled. The subscription price is absurd for what is ultimately a very basic app with lots of free alternatives. I’m out.

**Developer response:** Good morning and thank you for the feedback. I’m sorry for the disappointing update but I had to change business model to be able to keep the app alive. Can you send me your username so I can upgrade your account as gift to be a Drylendar user for a long time?

### 1/5 — it’s WAS great…

*2026-04-25, version 1.2.2*

It was great until dev completely changed app to be “pay to use”, you could’ve just add more ads to the app and no one would notice, but you completely ruined one of the main features of this app behind a paywall, so now you can’t change your previous day for free, you have to get “premium” subscription just to change your previous days… greedy asf.

### 1/5 — Nice app but data keeps disappearing

*2026-04-13, version 1.2.1*

I was having a good time tracking my drinking. But out of nowhere the data just went blank. I had to go back and add my drinks again. This happened 2 more times

### 1/5 — Another app ruined by adds

*2026-02-07, version 1.1.0*

Worked pretty well at first, then the adds kicked in and I stopped using it entirely.

Not worth your time

### 1/5 — Disappointed with the New Version

*2026-01-12*

I really liked the old version of Drylender — it was simple, reliable, and had useful features.

But recently, the old app started showing a forced popup every time I opened it, pushing me to install the new version. I finally gave in and updated, only to find that it has lost what made it special. The SobriScore feature is gone, and even my past purchase history disappeared.

This experience taught me two things:

1. Even paid apps can be abandoned without warning.

2. Forcing users to upgrade by breaking the old version is a terrible user experience.

Really disappointing change.

**Developer response:** So sorry to read your comment. I can find your past purchase history. Can you send me an email ? I'll think about bringing back the SobriScore feature!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple yet SO effective!

*2026-08-12*

I absolutely love the simplicity of this app. Being able to see your progress from a calendar view is an absolute game changer. Big big big fan!

### 5/5 — Sober sorta

*2026-07-30*

This app is good for helping you string days in a row. One yellow or red day doesn’t look bad but when you start seeing them pile up this app helps you get back on track and in the green.

### 5/5 — 정말 좋은 앱

*2026-07-30*

디자인도 괜찮고, 술 기록하는 과정이 재밌습니다.

### 5/5 — Cute app! And useful to moderate

*2026-07-20, version 2.4.0*

I’m a typical UK office worker that has a tendency to have a couple more than I’d like to on the weekend or at the work night out - this is a great way to keep me honest and it’s a very cute design too!

### 5/5 — Absolutely the best!

*2026-07-12, version 2.3.1*

I have been using this app for over a year, managing my drinking patterns based on the SobriScore. It is absolutely the best!

### 5/5 — Best drink tracking app available!!

*2026-07-06*

This is one of the best apps I’ve used for tracking my poor drinking habits. The good news is that this app keeps me honest and have seen a massive improvement over all!

### 5/5 — Premium Features

*2026-06-23, version 2.1.3*

This was a great app that I got a bunch of my friends on and we liked the features, the UI, and how easy it was to use. Hopefully future plans for this app get to a place where the features currently behind a paywall can be free again, they are very handy and exactly what an app like this should include.

### 5/5 — Game changing app - and great customer service!

*2026-06-19, version 2.1.2*

This app has been the best one I’ve tried for cutting down my alcohol consumption. It’s simple to use, has intuitive design and really does keep me on track.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I recently found a bug in the app and contacted the company email. François replied within 2 minutes and immediately set to resolve the issue. I was so impressed by the speedy and friendly response! He went above and beyond to sort it. Thank you! :-)

### 5/5 — It’s great

*2026-06-18, version 2.1.2*

Really helps to see how much you actually intake

### 5/5 — Alcohol free

*2026-06-18, version 2.1.2*

The best
