What’s holding this app from being updated for the crashing. November 11, 2022 DSNY app is still crashing. I don’t often open it on my iPad because I have it on my iPhone as well. But since I was using my iPad at the time, I figured I would check when our next pick-up will be. Well, I opened the app up but it didn’t complete loading before it crashed. I tried again, and again, several times but it won’t open. Please fix the app if possible. Or please let me know if it isn’t the app itself. I was using an iPad Pro 5, 12.9 inch. I hope that helps. Thank you. Previous Review: July 19, 2022 I just opened the DSNY app and it crashed. I tried about two more times and it crashed again. I’m sorry. Please be aware of this. Thank you. ### 2/5 — Not accurate *2022-01-08, version 1.1.4* It said garbage only, told all my neighbors about the DSNY app I follow and how it says ONLY garbage and no recycling. We all took our recycling back in. Two days later, (1 day after the app said it would pick up only garbage) they came and only picked up recycling! It wasn’t until 4 days later, after it said garbage only, that they finally picked up the garbage. ### 1/5 — The app has nothing behind it. *2021-02-13, version 1.1.3* It’s just a mechanical app - does not know if it snows and the DSNY is doing something else with their time. You can just remember your own schedule. It is never updated, even during the worst storms, instead giving dates for pickups that never come. The application can’t find a major address in Staten Island. The application is not aware that location services are in smart phone and it should tap Into that api. The schedule is the only one that is useful right now. ### 2/5 — Not helpful *2021-02-02, version 1.1.3* There is no up-to-date information on collection of garbage or recyclables during or after a snow storm. This means that New Yorkers have to put out their garbage and recyclables on the usual schedule and hope that they get picked up the next day. If this is related to back-end data changes in the DSNY feed it's unacceptably bad original programming. Initially the app worked great and I could refer to it when I needed to dispose of something I was unsure of, but lately, when I click the app it just closes and goes to my home screen. I deleted and reinstalled, but the same thing keeps happening. I still get notifications of when I should put my garbage out, but that is the extent of the usability of this app. Please fix it! ### 1/5 — Broken *2020-07-11, version 1.0.6* It was a very useful app until it stopped working. Today was trash and recycle day and normally its all picked up in the middle of the night but not today ! My complaint is all the paper and cans were not picked up and its a super stormy windy day so our entire block is now covered in loose trash and recycables and im am so disgusted and annoyed by this. You think it wouldve been priority to make sure the sanitation truck picked up when a known weather problem like wind is expected. ### 1/5 — Why offer this app *2021-12-12, version 1.1.3* I can not enter my address it keeps saying address invalid and for the borough it took awhile to figure out how to put borough in the borough was not visible on the app. ### 1/5 — Wrong information foe election day *2021-11-03, version 1.1.3* The app reported that garbage and recycling pickup was cancelled for the election day NYC holiday and garbage pickup would be on Wednesday. I believed them and didn’t put anything out. Wrong! Normal pickups were made on election day. I found out too late that the website reported the correct info but not the app. I just got an alert that my pickup is tomorrow, the day after election day. We will see if they come two days in a row. ### 1/5 — UPDATE INFORMATION *2021-10-13, version 1.1.3* Nice for basics. Not so for updates. Is NYC a first rate city? How about an app that actually gives current information. Not just basics but information on changes for the NEXT day. Like holiday or snow. Man the site daily and make current changes. It should be more. I wanted to drop off electronics at drop off site and couldn’t determine when I would be allowed. If you want to be a scheduling app you need to be able display schedules for uncommon events also. The five star was to get someone’s attention.
