My phone screen is small, so when I do quad nback, the icons overlap somewhat, making it more difficult to press. Perhaps you could utilize the entire space below the grid as buttons, rather than limiting the presses to the actual icons. This would make it easier on a smaller screen. Also, a landscape mode would be great for making longer sessions more comfortable. You could put the icons to the left and right of the grid when in landscape mode.
