## What is Dual N?

Dual N-back. Scientifically proven memory workout!

- Every session consists of 40 turns. Each turn a square will light up in a 3x3 grid and a letter will be read out loud.
- Your job is to remember both the letter and the position of the square - and then indicate when the current square or letter is the same as it was N turns ago.
- As you get better, the number of turns N you have to remember is increased.

Unfortunately the app doesn’t allow you to pass onto 3-back before paying. I did make the mistake of paying and found out that the algorithm is flawed.  Apparently once a square lights up, the chances of it activating again are much bigger than 1/9, which makes the experience so much worse.

First of all, N-Back wasn’t created by this app and its developers, it was made by some scientists who were trying to measure short-term memory an attention. Second, this team proved that the N-Back test can improve short-term memory and focus through repeated tests. Third and finally, while this app is free, it only goes up to the second level, limiting how far you can improve.

I upgraded to the Pro Version but the app still says I need to upgrade. I really like the app, but for me to be able to benefit  from it, I need some of the pro features. I emailed the developer twice for help but never received a reply.
