It would work fine in a computer. Too many drop down menus. Not sure how to make it more user friendly while still letting customers create their own donut masterpieces. I still love that I can order them in an app and pick up. ### 3/5 — Like the app but room for improvement *2023-03-18* Duck Donuts is the best of its kind! The app adds great convenience with their made to order style. It can take a little time in-store so it’s nice to be able to order ahead. However, there is room to optimize. Choosing toppings is clunky so that interface is the big thing to work on. This really makes it a pain because using the drop-down menu is not the easiest when trying to review the previous donuts made in the app. Additionally, I have to remain logged on the app on my phone because I cannot log on via desktop. The desktop version continues to say my login or password is in correct even after I update via my phone app. This has been going on for awhile and is very frustrating. ### 2/5 — Brutal UX Trying To Make Your Own *2023-02-12, version 1.2.0* I just gave up trying to make your own. My head hurt too bad trying to see which donut and topping I was on. I just couldn’t keep going…too infuriating. However, the mobile app format is a bit confusing when it comes to placing an order. It's convoluted and a bit jumbled, not a clean interface. This has actually deterred me from ordering from here. You can’t select a build your own dozen with fan favorite donuts. You have to select every option for ever donut one by one. You can’t duplicate donuts in a build your own dozen either. Frequent buying want to try the new creations with out having to build them one-by-one for an order. The app repeatedly shows unable to connect errors while placing order. The website fails to complete placing the order. I tried calling and the recording says they are open Monday and Thursday. I happened to walk by and noticed a large line. I walked up and was able to order at the counter. If you are not accepting online order, perhaps say as much on the app/website. Don’t leave customers thinking there is an error. ### 1/5 — Rewards points *2023-03-28* We love duck donuts! The closest location to us is about 40 minutes away from us in Summerville SC, and we go out of our way to go to Duck once a month for a treat! That being said, it is rather disappointing how any rewards points you earn will be wiped out and lost, before you get the opportunity to go back and visit. It’s just not feasible for us to drive that far for a reward that will expire. I would truly encourage the Duck family to update their system to keep rewards points that you earn as stacked! App would never even let us order…and due to large numbers of “in person” customers, we were discouraged from standing in your long long lines. Unwilling to waste hours of beach time for some donuts. FYI…We had great success with ordering through your app in 2020 but since then, no luck. One of the perks of duck is that you get to select your own toppings but the app makes it difficult to do. If I order build my own dozen, I can’t chose fan favorites. If I am in the store then there I’d a section at the top of the ordering pad for those. It would be a lot easier if a user picked a dozen donuts and then there was one screen for each donut. Swipe right to the next one or swipe left to go back and change. My solution is to order from within the app at the store and then give them my order. The employee hand writes it n the receipt. Please be aware that they charge a $1 service fee. Why? The app helps the customer and the store, total junk app. Please fix the app. ### 1/5 — Cute app but it doesn’t work in Nags Head *2020-07-31, version 1.0.2* Nice app. Would be great to order ahead thru the app. Unfortunately, I’m OBX it simply doesn’t work. You can load up your cart to order, but when you try to order you get “Sorry, we’re having trouble connecting to this location, try again”. Over and over. With different locations too. So the app is useless. In order to get the standard price for a dozen, I had to figure out how to make each of their pre-made donuts and manually enter each ingredient of each donut. It was a pain. I’d even say they compete with the more “high end” donut shops like 5 daughters, and Hero donuts.
