Great tool for new parents

Duckie has become one of my favorite parenting apps. The barcode scanner makes it incredibly easy to check baby products, food, formula, and household items before using them. The app is simple, fast, and gives me peace of mind when shopping for my family.
What I like most is that it helps cut through confusing ingredient labels and provides information in a way that’s easy to understand. The product database is growing quickly, and the team is constantly improving the app with new features and updates.
If you’re a parent who wants to make more informed choices about the products you bring into your home, Duckie is absolutely worth downloading.

Lack of Product Database
I downloaded this to make sure I was buying safe things for my niece. I don’t have children, so I’m not as aware of what is an isn’t the best things to buy amongst the multiple brands and options for babies. I downloaded the app and in order to use it you must sign up for a 3 day free trial. No big deal- I’ll cancel before. But I scanned 5 items at target and none were in their database. This app should be 100% free until items found at large popular retailers are scannable and provide information on that product. If I was a parent and I tried this I would have likely been fine to continue the trial had I been able to find items I scanned. But only to have the same results, I would be so upset at the audacity to make me pay for this app. I get this is a new app, but google recommends this app as the best available… so I would recommend having this free to use until you have a good database of products that are commonly found at major retailers. I know y’all gotta make money- I suggest following Yuka food scanning app model of free barcode scanning, and blocking search bar behind a subscription wall. That way you can have people help you fill your database without having to pay first. Later switch back to your current model once the user has a 95% or greater chance of actually getting product data results per scan.

Love this app!!!
I used this app during my pregnancy to help me pick the best products for my son. As a first time mom I was overwhelmed with all the options and different brands. This help me make an informed decision, which wasn’t based on which brand had better marketing. I now use the Assistant to help answer any question I have about my son (he is two months old). It’s much better than just googling because it remembers previous questions or concerns about my son and gives me tailored answers. 100% recommend!!!
