## What is Due Something?

Due Something now runs on your wrist, can wake you with a real alarm, and keeps a lasting record of everything you finish.

Apple Watch
- Your Scheduled tasks on the Watch, grouped the way they are on iPhone
- Swipe to complete, snooze, or delete, and tap the plus to add one by dictation
- Choose what each swipe does in Settings, Apple Watch, on your iPhone
- Snooze swipes can open the task or apply a set duration you choose
- Two complications: Scheduled, in four shapes, and a New Task button
- Anything you do while your iPhone isn't nearby is applied when it is

Alarms
- Turn on Create Alarm for a task that has a date, a time, and Emergent
- It rings through Silent mode and Focus, with the system alarm sound
- Stopping the alarm doesn't complete the task, so it's still there to do

A lasting completed history
- Finishing a repeating task now leaves a record that stays behind
- Completed occurrences show in Completed and count toward your report totals and streak
- The history survives deleting the task it came from

Calendar
- Add to Calendar now keeps a live link: edit the task and its event follows
- The link carries to a repeating task's next occurrence
- A green calendar icon marks any task that came from, or writes to, a calendar

Siri and Shortcuts
- Complete and reopen tasks by voice
- Ask for tasks by list, date range, or whether they're done
- Full Reminders actions on iOS 27 for creating and updating tasks and lists

Finding things
- Filter Scheduled by Repeating, Calendar, Flagged, Emergent, Location, or Alarm
- Start typing something you've done before and pick it from the suggestions — the old task comes back instead of a duplicate

Sharing
- Share a task as a PDF: everything it holds, with a page for each attachment
- Export a whole selection as separate files, or as one document with a cover page

iPad and Mac
- Tasks open in a panel beside your list rather than covering it
- Reworked toolbars, with Settings and the sidebar button together

Appearance and selection
- Light Mode, Dark Mode, or System Default under Settings, Appearance
- Choose which buttons the select bar carries, in Batch Select Options
- Set a location alert on several tasks at once

Repeating
- "Last" in the On day picker, for the last day of any month, whatever its length

Shared lists
- A list shared with you as view only now says so, instead of taking edits that could never sync
- Flags, Emergent marks, and sharing still work on them

Fixes
- Resend limits now count per snooze cycle rather than resetting when the app opens
- Completing a task on one device clears its alert on your others
- Dictation no longer fails on the attempt after an interrupted start
- A task whose location can't be found no longer looks as though it saved
- Repeating tasks set to the last day of the month advance properly
- Faster search, faster suggestions, and less sync bookkeeping

- Alerts are no longer cleared if reading your reminders briefly fails
- A snooze made on the Watch keeps the time the Watch showed you
- Location alerts no longer fire for tasks you finished on another device
- A task that has just come due gets its alert even behind a long overdue list
- Faster search, faster suggestions, and less sync bookkeeping

### 1.2 — 2026-09-14

Calendar Connect
- Turn calendar events into tasks. Choose which of your calendars are offered, then pick the events you want and the list they go to.
- A repeating event comes across as a repeating task or expand it to take a single date. Your calendar is never changed.
- Notify Earlier gives imported tasks a head start so there's time to act on them.
- Each imported task notes which calendar it came from.

Add to Calendar
- Write a task out to your calendar as an event, repeats included.
- Set how long it runs or leave a task with no time of day and it becomes an all-day event.
- Delete the task and its event goes with it.

New Date/Time
- A new way to snooze: move a task to another date, another time of day, or both.
- Leave one out and the task keeps its own. Pick a time only and every selected task moves to that hour on its own day.
- Works on one task or a whole selection in Scheduled.

Location and time, one deadline
- A task with a location alert now comes due at its due date or when you reach the place, whichever happens first.

Icon Badge
- Choose what the number on the app icon counts: Overdue, Due Today, or All Scheduled. In Settings, under Appearance.

Sidebar
- The "My Lists" heading is gone, and every row — the Shelf, smart lists, your own lists — can be dragged anywhere you like.
- Both boundaries name themselves while you rearrange.
- On iPad, press and hold any row to move it, and pull down at the top of the sidebar to make a new list.
- Any list can now hide its header name.

Updated appearance in lists
- Tasks sit on the background with no card tint behind them.
- Select mode uses a neutral highlight instead of an accent wash.
- Section headings in Scheduled and All are full strength rather than grey.

Settings
- Screens push instead of opening as sheets, with a back chevron in your accent color and the edge swipe to return.
- Snooze is now Set Option, Static, Adaptive and More Options, with presets, location and the new date/time behind the last of those.
- The four snooze mechanisms are labelled at a glance.
- Shorter footers, tidier sections, and long values no longer truncate.

iPad
- The duplicate menu button is gone from narrow windows.
- The sidebar button turns into an X while selecting.
- The window controls no longer overlap the top of the sidebar when you resize.

Mac
- The selection bar no longer covers the last tasks in a list, and its snooze and folder icons take their proper color and dim with the rest.
- The sidebar button turns into an X while selecting.
- The menu bar panel's dividers are solid instead of fading into your desktop.

Fixes
- A list dragged off the Shelf can land anywhere in My Lists, not just at the bottom.
- Reordering no longer looks broken mid-drag or duplicates a smart list.
- The keyboard no longer reappears and steals the cursor while you edit a new task.
- The back swipe works on every settings screen with a back chevron.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-09

iCloud Sync (new)
-App data and settings now sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac through iCloud. Master switch in settings. On by default with no setup; data is stored encrypted in your private iCloud database.
-Devices “poke” each other when Reminders data changes so shared-list edits show up sooner.

New features
-Update apps appearance.
-Snooze by Place. Snooze a task until you arrive at or leave a saved place, from the snooze menu.
-Daily Briefing. A morning summary notification of what’s due and overdue.
-Live Activity for overdue tasks (iPhone).
-Due Something Report. A stats sheet of completed, scheduled, overdue, and snooze habits.
-Home Screen and Lock Screen Widgets. Control Center controls.
-Spotlight search.
-Siri Phrase support.
-Share sheet. Share an image or a file into a task.
-Smart Presets on notifications (Later Today, This Evening, Tomorrow Morning, This Weekend, Next Week), picked to fit the time of day and how often the task has been put off.

Tasks and lists
-Snoozing syncs, including repeating tasks (the series is never moved).
-A repeating task’s snooze stays as its current due time after it fires until you complete, re-snooze, or edit it. A date change made elsewhere drops the snooze.
-Editing a task’s date clears any pending snooze; the Scheduled view moves the task to its new section the moment you save.
-Paperclip icon with a count on tasks that have attachments; the photo thumbnail in rows was removed.
-List Info: per-list “Fetch Link Titles” switch, compact icon grid with a “…” button that opens the full searchable icon picker.
-View-only shared lists show a lock in the sidebar, are left out of list pickers, and edits still work locally with a one-time notice per list.
-The in-app snooze menus offer exactly the number of static option sets in Settings (up to five).
-Task editor: the location footer only shows when the location alert is on.

Notifications
-Improvements to notifications, including keeping alerts in Notification Center.
-Quiet Hours: catch-up alerts at the window’s end are staggered like normal alerts, and a background refresh keeps them topped up. The “just became overdue” alert is only held inside the window.
-Notification actions (snooze, Smart Presets, location snooze, Mark as Completed) now show reliably.
-Alerts in Notification Center are cleared when the task is completed, snoozed, or deleted on another device.
-No more occasional duplicate 'just became overdue' alerts.
-A notification action taken while the app is closed no longer wipes the other scheduled alerts; widget completions and snoozes cancel the task’s pending alerts.

Accessibility
-Now fully supported, check it out!

Performance Improvements
-Faster typing in the task editor.
-Fixed menu glitches; time pickers are now inline wheels throughout.
-Overdue tasks turn red at their due moment even while scrolling.
-Restored tasks with photos sync their photos; Recently Deleted stays in sync across devices.
-Overdue count behaves correctly when snoozing.
-Snoozing a completed task from Shortcuts or Siri no longer moves its date.

And so much more!
