### 5/5 — Duet takes the pain out of commuting

*2015-06-03, version 1.5.4*

Duet connects drivers and riders to form car pools.

I've been using Duet for a few months and it makes commuting so much easier. The app is free and super easy to use.

With Duet, you get to work faster and cheaper, plus you get to meet new people.

### 5/5 — Practical and serves the community

*2015-06-02, version 1.5.4*

After using regular carpool for years finally an app that matches the riders with the drivers. The design is a bit simplistic/funky looking but it does the job. The app is very easy to use.

### 5/5 — Carpool made easy, finally!

*2015-04-29, version 1.5.2*

Having dabbled in nearly all forms of public transportation and carpool services, Duet is by far the easiest to use so far. Comparable to casual carpool but without the uncertainty. I like the simple interface for communicating between drivers and riders. Looking forward to more drivers and riders joining to expand the routes covered.

### 5/5 — Easy to use and friendly drivers

*2015-04-19, version 1.5.2*

Really great looking app in comparison to the other services out there. I managed to get multiple free rides so far. Hopefully it will pick up to the point where I can ride it everyday.

### 5/5 — Carpool Lane! Yay!

*2015-02-27, version 1.4*

This app just saved me a ton of time on my commute. Here's how it works: I sign up, and enter the location (it doesn't have to be exact) of my home, and of my work, and the approximate time I like to commute in each direction. I then go to the "map" screen, and it shows me only the other Duet users who have a similar commute to mine: the ones whose home AND work are near my home and work, and who want to leave in the morning and come back in the evening at approximately the same time I do. So I don't have to sift through hundreds of people trying to find someone with a compatible schedule to carpool with: I see only the ones who have basically the same commute I do. I can then contact them through the app's built in texting facility (so I don't get their email address or phone number and they don't get mine, unless we WANT to trade info).

Once you've contacted someone, you can "ask for" a ride or "offer" one.

So, I can find someone to share a a ride with pretty easily, and... we get the carpool lane. The app is pretty new, so there aren't a lot of people on it yet, but even so I found two people who share my crappy commute. it's easy to see that if it can get to critical mass, there will be someone out there for just about any commute you might want to match.

Although it's clearly intended for commuters, it might be a good way to find an emergency ride as well, if you can find someone who happens to be heading to where you want to go.

### 5/5 — Great idea. Looks cool too!

*2015-02-11, version 1.3*

Carpool apps are difficult. I tried a couple and had mediocre success. I really like this one for its different approach and clean design. It’s still young but I am happy to see more users in my map view. I hope they can make scheduling ride easier. Overall it has great potential.

### 4/5 — Nice compact app.

*2015-01-23, version 1.2*

Easy to use. Once more people sign up, expect to give it 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Great way to connect

*2014-12-10, version 1.0*

This app was easy to set up and has an intuitive interface. As more users join I can see that this will be very useful. Can’t wait to see more users on it!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crashes for over a year

*2018-03-06, version 2.9.0*

Don’t try it. It crashes whenever you try to do anything useful. It’s been this way for over a year.

I keep getting emails saying I have a carpool match but I can’t get the match when the app continually crashes. I bet the other person can’t change their carpool settings anyway now.

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2017-02-05, version 2.5.2*

Doesn't even let me choose my commute time. As soon as I try to do it, the app crashes. I'll keep using Scoop.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2017-01-05, version 2.5*

Great app idea but the app crashes a few seconds after being opened :(

### 1/5 — Keep crashing

*2017-01-04, version 2.5*

About time to fix your driver app .

### 1/5 — Spammers

*2016-08-04, version 2.2*

Deleted the app, and they still keep spamming you with emails without unsubscribing link

### 1/5 — Not ready for prime time

*2015-01-15, version 1.1*

Tried to install and setup. Got so many 'Error (null) (null)' while setting up just my home address, gave up as it already gave mean indication that the authors have not spent enough time using it. Please test it some more before launching it. And take it off the store while you fix it.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2014-12-04, version 1.0*

I am so confused about the purpose of this app. It does nothing. And doesn't connect you with anyone.

### 4/5 — Interesting app. Need more users.

*2016-05-30, version 2.0.2*

I found this app in the App Store recently. I downloaded it and signed up. The app has a very interesting design, unlike other carpool apps I've tried. It's also very easy to navigate. I hope it will pick up more users soon as I only see one other in my neighborhood. Get more users!

### 4/5 — Amazing app

*2015-05-26, version 1.5.4*

This app is great for organizing a carpool! It allows you to see everyone's schedule in your work & home areas. You then have to contact a driver to see if they are available. This app is still developing and is missing some features, but the UI is very user friendly!

### 4/5 — Modern way for carpool

*2015-02-20, version 1.3*

For me, always want to find someone lives nearby can share a ride to commute. I know there are some websites, you can leave message and ask for the ride. However, it isn't the modern way to find your carpool buddy! Compare to other similar apps, "Duet" is more like offer and share, less commercialized. It's easy to use, built-in chat system makes a great way to communicate with your rider for schedule. In short, a promising tool and Hope the users grow bigger and bigger.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Helpful in an area with few options

*2018-11-25, version 3.0*

I live in the Teton region and use the Duet app many days to travel the 20 or so miles between my house and my work. It is been easy to coordinate carpools with neighbors and other people who I work with who live in my town. Earlier on we had trouble with Duet recognizing our pick up locations, as we live in rural areas and may not live within a 3 mile radius of each other. But this issue seems to have gotten fixed. Overall, great experience using the Duet app

### 5/5 — A lifesaver for commuters in Bay Area

*2018-06-19, version 2.14*

I take the shuttle to commute from South Bay to SF city every day. It’s definitely better than taking the crowded Caltrain, not to mention they pick you up at your door! You can track the real time location of shuttle in the App.
The only thing I think they can improve is punctuality- some drivers tend to be late at pick up every time while most drivers are pretty punctual. Duet should have punctuality review for each ride in the App.

### 5/5 — The answer to commuting hell

*2018-04-23, version 2.11*

This service has changed my life. Thank you duet for your ingenious solution to commuting hell. I now have two hours a day of my life back. If you are not fortunate enough to work for a big tech company that has buses going down the peninsula duet is for you. They have WiFi on the shuttle and I spend my time productively checking and answering email and other personal and work tasks. Getting email out of the way before I am at my desk has increased my productivity significantly. If you live in soma area or near twitter building In Sf and work down peninsula you may want to consider using this service . Also the app is getting better all the time. Many earlier bugs have been resolved.

### 5/5 — This is a great app!

*2017-08-02, version 2.6.8*

I love this app. I can always find a ride. The app is plain and simple. The cost for rides are comparable to other carpool apps. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a carpool app!

### 5/5 — Great way to Carpool

*2017-05-11, version 2.6.1.1*

I do not have a car so I have been using this app for the past 2 months in Bay Area for my daily commute. I am always matched with a driver and the prices are also muchcheaper than Uber and Lyft. You are matched to a person and then you can chat with the to coordinate and also schedule future rides. The UI of the app has some scope for improvement. Overall this is a great app and highly recommended for vcar pooling to and from work. Plus you can meet new people too :-)

### 5/5 — An easy way to commute

*2017-04-19, version 2.6.0*

I don't have access to a car, so I use Duet for daily commute from home to work. This is a cheap way to commute compared to Uber or Lyft. Simply enter the address and the time you want to be picked up, then the app will try to match you with a driver along a similar route. You can send messages to your driver after you are matched up.

### 5/5 — Carpooling 2.0

*2015-11-29, version 1.6.0*

A very simple and useful app that I use twice a week. It is matching you to other people to simplify your commute.

### 5/5 — Good for my commute

*2015-08-30, version 1.6.0*

I recently found Duet in the App Store. It is really easy to use. I'm surprised to see there are many commuters near me that I can choose from. I've already been contacted for rides. I was able to connect with other people using the in-app chat.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2015-07-28, version 1.5.6*

I have had a great experience using Duet. It is easy to sign up and use. I've gotten several successful rides.

### 5/5 — Great App
