### 4/5 — Notifications

*2026-07-16*

I absolutely love this app, especially for my radar detectors to have them displayed through CarPlay. The only thing that would make it 10 times better is for example a KA band to pop up as a notification in CarPlay similar to how the escort radar detector app works if I’m on the music screen, it’ll pop up a notification and sound for the band frequency the only way I can see the band free frequency is if I’m on the map itself but overall this app is fantastic especially to connect radar detectors

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! Dukes does support background CarPlay radar alerts while using other CarPlay apps, including band and frequency notifications. Please check that CarPlay Background Alerts is enabled in Dukes under the CarPlay settings. If it is already enabled and alerts still aren’t appearing, please reach out through the app so I can help troubleshoot it.

### 5/5 — Liking this new RD app

*2026-06-25*

I am always interested in a new app to help my radar detector become a smarter, easier and quieter device to get along with. While i had some stumbling blocks with Dukes on day 1, I think I have gotten over those and making progress. And so far. I’m loving it. The addition of CarPlay connectivity is new and welcome. Im anxious to get more time on this thing and continue ti learn more, and watch the changes as updates and upgrades are made over time. Well done!

### 5/5 — Great App, Just Needs A Minor Fix

*2026-06-24*

WONDERFUL APP! I love love love it! CarPlay Integration works very well and the features are outstanding. ONLY issue is it kills my battery, like bad… even with it plugged in. After this fix though I cannot wait to use it 24/7 when I drive! Keep up the great work.

### 5/5 — This app is amazing.

*2026-06-15*

My radar, police and accident crowdsourcing. Seeing my uniden radar detector update on CarPlay is awesome. Recommend wired CarPlay. I was using wireless CarPlay, streaming lossless Apple Music, and using this app all together and it’s definitely hard to charge your phone at the same time sometimes.

### 3/5 — Great potential

*2026-06-09*

I will start out by saying flat out that this app is buggy and there’s probably a reason it’s free right now. It doesn’t really seem to hold a connection to my V1G2 like the other apps and it also doesn’t seem to be logging encounters.

That said, it implements speed-based switching between Logic modes and it at least theoretically has GPS autolockouts. These features alone make it JBV1-like and are fairly groundbreaking for a Valentine user on iOS. I really want this to go somewhere, it just isn’t there right now. Seriously has the potential to be the best companion app on iOS for V1G2 users.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. Just wanted to mention that Dukes will always be free. It's a passion project that I work on in my spare time because I enjoy building it and supporting the community.

I did some digging into the V1G2 issues you mentioned and found a couple of edge cases that could affect connection stability and encounter logging. Those fixes are included in this week's update, so I'd be interested to hear if things improve for you after updating.

### 5/5 — Get it!

*2026-06-07, version 2.4.4*

Super easy to use, I prefer it over google and Apple Maps. Seems like the app is always improving.

### 5/5 — Glad I stumbled upon this app

*2026-06-06, version 2.4.4*

Easy to use, reliable, and packed with useful features. The developer is constantly improving it, which is awesome to see.

### 5/5 — Incredible app for my v1g2!

*2026-06-06, version 2.4.4*

Pairs perfect, CarPlay is perfect, been waiting years for an app like this!

### 5/5 — Really coming into its own, best app of its type

*2026-05-13*

Long time user of Highway Radar on android, and found my way to this app after being disappointed in the IOS version of HR. The past few updates have turned this into a polished companion app for radar detectors and community sourced alerts, and the CarPlay implementation is far ahead of any of the other apps.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-04-17*

Have it connected to the v1, works really, consistent updates and tweaking. Super fun to use and compare to the competing apps. All have their quirks but im leaning towards this one as the daily.
