I thought, finally, an app that can help me slowly pull away from using Instacart. I created flyers and distributed them amongst my regulars. However, I’m having a hard time getting my customers to switch to Dumpling because of the app’s interface and the fact that it’s not very user-friendly for the customer. I received an order for Stater Bros, and my customer literally had to type in each and every item on her list! I felt so embarrassed with how outdated this app seemed compared to the other platforms. Developers, please do something about this! ### 4/5 — Categories *2025-07-20, version 4.9.1* The only downside for me as a shopper using this app is not being able to re-categorize things so that the shopping is smoother and I’m not scrolling back-and-forth as I go to each aisle. One example, is French onion dip. That usually in the dairy section but the dumpling app has it in the snacks. Even if it’s a temporary recategorization that is only in place for the order I’m working on. However, it is a great tool for running your own shop and delivery operation. With every order, I have to reorganize and group. Frozen should all be in a group. Produce, meat, dairy, the same. This caused me to miss over a week of earnings and no one even was willing to apologize. Instead they tried to say it was a misunderstanding. When I said how could she misunderstand something i didn’t even say they switched to find other ways to blame me instead of apologizing. If I knew they had that kind of character I would never have trusted my info or money with them. Also they started taking about half my earnings each time. I mentioned it they had a crazy excuse saying I was tripping. But after I mentioned it it went back to the normal amount. My loyal Shipt customers followed me to this app, which I’m grateful for. I like that it goes smoothly when we charge or pay. BUT, this app has no store platforms! It’s really empty. They claim that customer could add any item they want but most people don’t like doing so, they like to BROWSE! How can customers know whether this store has this particular cheese brand for example! Or, what if they like to buy things on sale? No where to tell thru this app. Most of my customers send me the list via the actual store app. It’s a shame how we pay these fees plus a membership and this app doesn’t provide us with anything else except for paying us our fees and tips, and a good customer service which we barely use anyway. Trash app I promise you’re better doing it on your own instead of paying to use this app. I’ve done order that they had fees so high it took all my earnings and tips for person I shopped for and I still owed them money and couldn’t complete order. They actually suggested I charge customer more without permission to cover the rest that I owe lol. Last month stood at the register for 20 minutes trying to get the card to work. Discovered my 1099 is wrong by quite a bit yesterday, attorney said to contact them right away to get it fixed before they submit it because if not it makes it hard to correct, yet I’m told they will respond to me on Monday. In the last year they have turned the tables to where they are making a bulk of YOUR earnings which in turn requires you to increase your cost of services. This has caused me to lose over half my customers because it is now too expensive and they pay less using other services available. For example, I shopped a good size order at Walmart with a 20% tip, $8.99 delivery fee. Of course my entire delivery fee was eaten and they got paid the same I did if not a few dollars more. Should’ve been a $60 order and I got $29. I understand some fees but the ones they are running now are just GREED! This app will not survive much longer. you are no more a business owner on this platform than you are on Instacart. ### 1/5 — WARNING! Followed all training for setup and marketing, spent close to $1000 on materials to market my business. Started to get Facebook messages from other local shoppers bullying me and threatening me for being in the area. They made false complaints to get our company kicked off the platform since they have been around longer. Dumpling did not reach out to us at all or respond to any emails or messages. There isn’t even a phone number to contact them in person. Terrible company and policies. My first customers was allowed to place an order with me, dumpling did not verify correct amount of funds on customers card but allowed their dumpling card to go through. When it was time to charge the customer on my end, there were not enough funds. I tried to return the items and the store refused to take them, now they bare calling me to charge me for the items. First they wanted me to wave my fee so the customer’s card would go through...I could not believe what I was hearing. Here is the problem, and the platform has to change I order to work because just saw someone else posting a similar review, you need to withhold the total amount of the purchase and not hold ya responsible if a customer does not pay because you are controlling the money intake...if you don’t change that the platform won’t work. ### 1/5 — A total ripoff stay with instacart *2020-05-03, version 3.2* If you are a instacart shopper stay with instacart . They have your back In other ways as in you get paid . You are required to be the business owner the one who has to call to collect if customer cars declines during your shop. It is marketed as towards if you are seasoned instacart shopper , the customer service is bs and won’t listen or receive feedback to try improvements. Wrong approach . Part of being a business owner is also listening to those who are the ones paying you the revenue. Which is me the one who paid your platform fees , credit card transaction fees and then shopped and took a loss when the customers card declined in store . Your response “you should of taken a different approach on that 1000 dollar order “ oh well you didn’t get paid and will have to be the one to collect from your customer the funds and the tip and the pay. Submitted help through their “chat”, clearly showed Bree as “Active” and no response. Figured I try sending them an email since they ignore their chat and finally got a response “submitted to their IT”. Unfortunately it’s been 7 hours with no follow up. A new app that boasts a great need, but lack of customer service clearly shows they still need to get things right. It’s better to own the business instead of being treated like an employee with no benefits.
