You have to know brand names and pricing is never included. I still use Dumpling and it has worked for me. Seems like a lot of work for both the shopper and customers. ### 4/5 — Works fine, could be better *2026-04-27, version 5.4.1* I’ve been using Dumpling weekly for several years now, my personal shopper uses this app. I used 95% of the time for shopping at Publix. It does what you want it to, and is user friendly. But there’s a few things that desperately need improvement. - It’s not up to date with products, not even close. There’s items that have been available for years that don’t show up. This is my biggest complaint. - I wish there was a favorites list that was easy to access. It does have something, but it’s unorganized, messy and difficult to navigate. - The text is too small, and there’s a serious lack of description. When you select a product, there’s a pop up, but it hardly gives any information. Too many times I’ve selected something and it’s the wrong size because the information either isn’t there, or the text is too small for me to read. Example- I want a 14oz can of crushed tomatoes and end up selecting a 30oz can instead. - When adding a product not in the list (which is common because so many are missing), I constantly get double entries, it’s frustrating for the shopper. I gave 4 stars, but realistically it should be 3.5. I wouldn’t use this app if I had a different option. But it’s the one my shopper uses so I’ll stick with it. It has real potential, but I don’t think they actively work on it. I am somewhat visually impaired and do not drive. I would imagine other folks like me would love this app and service except for that. I would love to see an upgrade for this problem. She goes out of her way to make sure your order is exactly right and will even go to multiple stores in order to get the items you need! She always has a huge smile on her face, and has the most joyous personality. She treats all of her customers like their family! and Angie always personally calls/text when she’s on her way here or if she has any questions about the order. I live in a retirement community and Angie personally delivers my groceries to me in my apartment on the second floor. Poor planning on behalf of the developers. Finding new items at the store is a nightmare and requires very specific and accurate text to match the item. I can’t make pictures of products large which means I can’t read the details. The products I was able to get into the cart just disappeared an hour later. I can no longer see when my shopper is available before I do my shopping, which is a real issue. If I need my items on Tuesday but she’s not available until Wednesday, I guess I’m screwed. So far it’s been really annoying! The app is not user-friendly. It doesn’t show details on products, or ingredients and additional photos so I could even enlarge the photo to check nutritional info. There’s NO flexibility to reschedule orders (if there is, it’s not apparent or easy to find- I was up all night trying to get my first orders set.) I have found the only way to reschedule is to cancel then start over! It’s a time waster not saver! Not good for this kind of business. Also, shops and restaurants that show as available are not connected w/ Dumpling yet so there’s no way to browse items or a menu. Lastly, I set it up on my iPhone and then downloaded to my iPad so I can use it there too. Well, this goofy app, not only won’t work horizontally so I can use my keyboard, but it wants me to start all over setting up an account. Really frustrating! I’ll stick with it a little longer ONLY because of my great shopper, but if the app doesn’t improve I’ll have to go back to Instacart. ### 1/5 — New update makes app unusable. *2023-02-03, version 5.0* I love my shopper and store options but this update is terrible. ### 1/5 — 100% Frustrated - Would Give It a Zero if I Could *2022-01-22* I had brain surgery and was looking for a way to get groceries hand picked as I would myself. Read about Dumpling and took an hour to download, set the account, detail shopping preferences, pick grocery items, etc, only to find out that they have only ONE deliverer in my area, Dave W., who won’t deliver unless I pay a $10 long distance fee and commit to tip UPFRONT, even though my area is covered and the app says I can choose to tip later. He canceled without even asking if I would accept his terms, saying I should have checked his personal site before ordering. Really? How many pages and how much work do you need to do to actually get decent service? So much for the self-advertised “concierge-level service”. The app itself had all the items I wanted from Trader Joe’s, but is useless since my only option won’t work. It’s a shame that Dumpling won’t offer enough service providers. ### 1/5 — My shopper is superb but the App is awful *2021-12-23, version 4.7* My shopper is absolutely terrific. She is the only reason I am using Dumpling. In hopes that Dumpling will heed my concerns, here are my difficulties with the App. It only works on my iPhone. I find that to be a difficult way to shop. The orientation is not set up to work with my iPad and its attached keyboard. I have to pull out an auxiliary keyboard and put my iPad it the portrait position to place an order. There is no companion website. I’d rather order my groceries on my Macbook Pro, but without a web interface, that’s not an option. My local grocery store’s inventory is not among the choices, just a generic Kroeger store. The saved list feature is not helpful. I never want to order 58 items from the same list, so deleting the ones I don’t want is cumbersome. My best advice is just copy the features of Instacart! If my shopper leaves Dumpling I’ll be back with Instacart in a second. Sorry to rate you so low, but this is one of the worst Apps I’ve used. ### 1/5 — Druggie Personal Shopper *2021-09-11, version 4.5* I must say, I was extremely excited about this app and service and was hopeful that it would be a long-term solution to limitations of living in rural Alaska. But, that was not the case with my first time shopping with Desiree @ Go Getter Foods. At first, she was super quick to respond, friendly, and helped with clarification on how to use the app. Once I put in my order, she was quick to respond and attentive while shopping. It wasn’t until she went to ship my items out where it became a little questionable. While on the phone, she was with someone helping her and they forgot we were on the other line. They seemed nervous and was talking about how they were “too high to do this” and that there were too many people around for their liking. I was confused by what was happening and they didn’t realize they were still on the phone so we hung up. After calling her back and asking for clarification on what was happening and whether or not my items were shipped, she stated that they were sent out. I told her what I was hearing on the phone and had concerns about what I was hearing and her handling my food items/groceries, and that’s when she admitted that she had a “problem” for a while (referring to drug use), and that she needs to get help for it but that this service was her livelihood and that she takes it seriously and doesn’t want this to affect her future business. After this conversation, I had to ask several more times for confirmation that my groceries were shipped out, an airway bill number, and never did receive receipts for the products so I don’t know if I even overpaid for anything. I understand people are only human, but when it comes to customer service and personal services, this has me on edge and I refuse to use this app ever again with any person offering services, which is really unfortunate. ### 1/5 — This review is for Mariel our former shopper Pasadena CA *2021-08-23, version 4.5* Marifel was ok when we mistakenly tipped her 20% (it’s the first choice on her tip line up and never thought to check it for too long of a time - 15% isn’t an option on her site unless you enter it manually) for each of the MANY orders we placed with her. Then when we did start tipping 15% and budgeted out our orders her interest waned. She changed drastically which we think amounts to really poor business practices. She always packed really badly though, she literally threw items in bags with no care whatsoever. We didn’t appreciate that but still used her because she seemed accommodating in other ways. Today was the best however. We manually added our tip (15%) and added two items very early. She claimed not to see the bagel order and said she could not do it today. She then refused to deliver the Trader Joe’s order she already shopped. We found a new shopper but that is a really petty thing to do & also she is not a good representative for your company. We’re concerned because Marifel has birthdates from the scrips she’s picked up for us and we’re wondering what safety precautions are in place on your end for this? We reall do not trust her.
