### 2/5 — App design

*2026-06-27, version 3.5*

This update is exactly what was needed for a better ux experience. More often trying to convince ppl to get the Duracell system and showing them the app puts them off, especially when compared to Teslas for example , so this is good and a small step in the right direction. We want more of this UX enhancements for a much better user experience and visuals..

Although I pretty certain the data is not accurate on the app

### 2/5 — Poor customer facing app

*2026-06-13, version 3.5*

This app does not display current data (no pun intended). For instance logging in today at 10am, it displays data from 8am. The Dura-I app on the other hand is bang up to date, why the 2 hour disparity? Systems/apps such as this are only truly useful if they present meaningful data in real time. Add in the perverse situation where it seems to forget my tariff and not charge from the grid and it doesn’t really make for a good user experience. Hopefully these issues are sorted soon in a future update.

### 2/5 — Really disappointing app

*2026-06-12, version 3.5*

I’ve been using the Duracell battery app and associated dura inverter app for over a year.
It’s plagued with problems like ‘battery offline’ messages or dis/charge being set on the battery app only to find it’s not actually been actioned the next day, leading to having to use more expensive energy as I’m on a time of use tariff.

Plus why does the app have you log in every single time? Can you not set it to stay logged in for say 48 hours / 7days etc?

I’m really disappointed that a global brand like Duracell or their UK service provider will don’t have these issues sorted as yet over a year on.

The battery and inverter themselves appear to work just fine but the apps really let it down and make the process hard work when it should be slick.
As a result, I’d actively recommend people do not take Duracell.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-05-27, version 3.5*

Stopped working, asked to load another app that does not work. No response from customer support. Hopeless.

### 1/5 — Pure Rubbish

*2026-05-22, version 3.5*

There is a significant delay in the data of about 1hr and a delay to commands being actioned which makes it incredibly confusing to use and unreliable. I see grid usage when the batteries are at 100% and my EV draws on the grid when in puregreen mode. So also costs me money as this is during peak rates.

### 1/5 — Lack of functionality & accurate data

*2026-05-13, version 3.5*

I have solar & batteries & car charger. There doesn’t seem to be any way to control the way the elements link to each other when the battery is used rather than mains and the timed charge for car never works properly. Appreciate they have an algorithm, but there should also be the opportunity to set it up as we want to use it!! Wish I’d known this before I bought the system & I would have used a different company altogether!

### 2/5 — Fonts too small

*2026-05-09, version 3.5*

The fonts are too small on the live usage, can you redesign the visualisations to be easier to read, there’s lots of wasted screen estate.

### 1/5 — Worst App of All Time

*2026-05-07, version 3.5*

This app is now schedule charging my battery every morning, which I don’t want. Even though I have no schedules set or active.

This means on the sunniest days of the year I am still pulling 10kwh from the grid. Completely unacceptable. And no way to stop it from doing this. A disgrace for a solar system.

### 1/5 — Terrible app never works

*2026-05-04, version 3.5*

What a joke worst app I’ve ever had I thought Duracell was a trusted name

### 2/5 — A bit clunky

*2026-04-23, version 3.5*

The scheduling works fine. However, it can get confused and give spurious overviews which are clearly wrong .i.e my smart meter showing charge from the grid and the Duracell app showing something else. This error is intermittent. Also, a feature missing is export down to battery percentage. This would be really useful.

### 1/5 — Minimal Control

*2026-04-16, version 3.5*

There is not a simple charge / discharge button on the app for the batteries. Even when the charge cycle starts it won’t stop. Today at peak time I started charging by accident and there was no way to stop.

### 1/5 — From poor to worse

*2026-04-06, version 3.5*

[update]
Well done for making the app even worse than it was !

Brand perception lead me to expect a really good app from Duracell. But no, after using it for 24 hours I’m just completely disappointed. The usability is quite terrible - unintuitive, clunky, inaccessible. It has all the hallmarks of being ‘designed’ by engineers - no understanding of user experience whatsoever.
The app violates even the most basic usability design principles.
Before the engineers start working on new features I’d strongly recommend taking a step back and work on getting the basics right. Otherwise others, like me, will regret their choice to go with Duracell.

### 1/5 — Excellent batteries, but just not a good app

*2026-04-05, version 3.5*

The Duracell batteries seem to function fine and live up to their reputation for brand leading excellence: they are after all said to be the best.
So I’m really confused as to why the company has chosen to pair them with such a low brow, apparently cheap to produce, app that doesn’t even work on the Apple Watch. The app just isn’t up to standard. It doesn’t remember its user, so you have to sign in each time you use it. Last week it was tarnished with a call for crowd funding, every time you turned it on, for a product it chose not to define.
The app has two electric vehicle points on it that may be useful to a lot of people, but could easily be switched off for those not charging a car.
And it seems this is the “latest”, “updated” version of the app. I mean the basic function works, and works in a simple and easy to comprehend manner which is laudable, but every time you go to it you just feel it’s been done on the cheap.
So many little things in this app just don’t help the brand’s otherwise well deserved reputation…….
If Duracell wants to retain its brand leading position it needs to sort this app out as a matter of urgency; as the app is the absolute opposite of an ambassador for the brand.

### 1/5 — Even worse after the update

*2026-03-30, version 3.5*

This app has always been terrible, but with the recent update they have somehow made it even more useless. The data given on the app is wildly inaccurate, not to mention NOT live. Why can't this app talk to the Dura i app? That one at least gives true information, but even the Dura i app has its failings: I have to stand in a very specific spot just below my loft space in order for the local bluetooth connection to work with my phone. Can't get it to read the data anywhere else in the house.

### 2/5 — Needs more work and cut the marketing!

*2026-03-28, version 3.5*

Latest version includes a marketing pop up that appears every time you open the app and requires dismissing! Extremely frustrating and unnecessary when it has been covered by the constant emails. I like the home energy interface but the location of labels could be optimised as their position can be confusing. Please add home assistant integration via an API or similar, this would place your offer level with many competitors.

### 1/5 — Substandard

*2026-03-28, version 3.5*

Hardware is great and works a treat. New app version is *slightly* better than total rubbish, but now ruined by pervasive popup for unrelated unwanted topic that can’t be removed.

### 2/5 — Updates cause problems

*2026-03-25, version 3.5*

The most recent update has caused a problem with mine, it’s shown the same screen since yesterday

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very bad

*2026-06-27, version 3.5*

If i know the app is so bad i won’t NOT buy the converter and the battery
Very inaccurate and annoying app
They need serious attention and update the software
Become a bad name on internet about it

### 1/5 — Awful App Experience tarnishes the whole system

*2026-06-21, version 3.5*

Probably one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Firstly it presents you with a login screen with the username and password already filled in. Why have this? It’s not for security, it just means an extra click anytime you want to use the app. The data refreshing every 5 minutes or so is hopeless. But the worst offender is the EV page. I’ve just spent 10 minutes trying to get my car to charge of the excess solar and I still can’t get it to work. I’m a professional software developer: if can’t get this to work reliably, no one has a chance. This should be the no 1 easiest thing to do in the app. Terrible. Given a second chance, I’d avoid the whole Duracell Energy system.

### 1/5 — Not readable

*2026-06-13, version 3.5*

The most frequent use of the app is to check how much charge is in the battery the text size is far too small to be able to read it. The old puredrive app was much more readable. this is not progress please update the app so that customers without 20 20 vision can read the numbers

### 1/5 — Peter

*2026-06-12, version 3.5*

text showing battery level is far too small the old puredrive app worked well with no trouble for years why do software writers have to keep breaking things that work.

### 1/5 — Interfering app.

*2026-06-12, version 3.5*

What on earth gives you the right to interfere with the Charging schedule of MY batteries. Once again, last night, they did not charge due to your app interfering and switching off the charger, thus costing me money. I even tried to switch to power-cut mode but to no avail. Your app should be for information only, not control!

### 1/5 — Unreliable battery charge and discharge scheduling

*2026-06-12, version 3.5*

The app scheduling for battery charge and discharge has become unreliable. It’s like having a great car with intermittent steering failure.
Every time it fails I lose money. Support is also very poor.

### 1/5 — Poor App

*2026-06-01, version 3.5*

Never up to date always giving wrong info needs lots of work very poor

### 1/5 — App updates keep getting worse

*2026-06-01, version 3.5*

Why does the app now not connect to the cloud after 5pm and more often than not shows no Data available.
This app just keeps getting worse.
And now since another update the Dura I app is not available.

Such a shame the app cannot support its own device reliably for a consumer to use

### 1/5 — Shoddy

*2026-05-30, version 3.5*

App is unreliable and poorly coded. Start again from scratch guys. It’s awful.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-05-29, version 3.5*

Just awful. You can’t rely on it at all to give accurate data, none of the data is timely, and half the time you can’t expect it to update your control demands. For the last two days, not a single charge or discharge change in the app has had any effect on the system affecting my ability to earn money from exporting to grid.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works well for me

*2026-05-31, version 3.5*

I think a fair few of the complaints have been address from previous reviews although some may be more edge case issues that I haven’t experienced personally.

It is a little annoying having to log in every single time but it only takes a few seconds so isn’t the end of the world.

### 5/5 — Great update

*2025-08-22, version 3.2.2*

Thank you guys this update is fantastic, I love being able to see the export on the Energy Insights and the Energy Summary is very clear to understand, keep up the good work, Cheers Grahame

### 5/5 — New updates

*2025-07-20, version 3.2.1*

I have been hugely impressed by the latest updates on the app and when I spoke to Customer Service team they explained something very clearly that I didn’t understand. They also told me there are more updates scheduled on a regular basis to improve all aspects of the data and its usage with the App.

### 5/5 — Mr Bux

*2025-06-10, version 3.2*

Fantastic update

### 5/5 — Good simple app easy to use.

*2024-08-28, version 2.4*

No issues for me it’s a simple easy to use app couldn’t fault it if I want super accurate live readings I look at inverter.

### 4/5 — Mostly good

*2026-05-30, version 3.5*

I turned off the algorithm related function as this resulted in unwanted electricity downloads from the grid at expensive times. Generally works well.

### 3/5 — New app update

*2026-03-26, version 3.5*

Loving the new home flow app update , the app has been getting better with updates only thing I would like to see is the scheduled control option were can pick a percentage you can export to the grid and then once you get to it the app stops exporting to the grid.

### 3/5 — Dura-I

*2026-02-16, version 3.4*

All in a good enough app. Not sure how accurate the figures are. Over 12 months the app showed my exporting 357kwh but my energy provider had credited me for almost 2000kwh so quite a big difference. Also why has the Dura-I app been removed from regular service. I actually prefers it. On a plus point the system works well but I can’t compare the app to others.

### 3/5 — Good - but plenty of room for improvement

*2025-11-07, version 3.3*

I was asked to install this app along with the Dura-i app to manage my Duracell inverter and battery. The dura-i is great for monitoring and this app is ok for setting the charge/discharge times. Sadly it doesn’t work with my car charger - there is just a greyed out icon where it could at least know what the charger is drawing if it worked - my installer did not know how? Or maybe did not want? To connect them.
Another sad thing is when you schedule a discharge session there is no more control - you cannot stop the discharge to prevent or abandon a session. Neither can i stop it discharging manually when the car charger is working. My Ohme charger frequently decides to use the pv panels to charge the car but cannot distinguish the battery.
In this day and age integration should be easier!
There have also been one or two occasions where what i presume is a bug in the interface - I reprogram the discharge and stop it as it appears on the app but the inverter goes ahead anyway and flattens the battery. Very frustrating as I’m paying 27p for peak electricity and 7 for off peak when either the timed discharge or the Ohme flattens the battery and I’m left using peak time electricity.
It is a bit frustrating to need 2 separate apps to run the system - plus a third for my Ohme charger provided with the car with no integration between them. It would be great if there were a way to export the data for analysis on a computer

### 3/5 — App needs investment

*2025-11-07, version 3.3*

The product itself (I.e the battery) seems fine. However, the app is very clunky.

There’s a feature when you can link it to your tariff (in my case Octopus Agile), and it supposedly charges/discharges at optimum times to save you the most money. However, I’m also not convinced that it is that intelligent and have ended up using the expensive rates due to lack of “foresight” from the app. I’m now back to scheduled charging between midnight and 5am.
