When I try to log in I have an issue „session expired” just after logging in. It happens over and over again. Impossible to buy a ticket. This app is useless

The app doesn't work. You can't buy a ticket. It doesn't fulfill its intended purpose—it requires you to create an account and log in, but it won't let you log in (it displays errors). Creating an account is also a disaster, as it doesn't display where it sees an error (e.g., a postal code can't have a dash—in Polish, postal codes do have dashes). The English translation is terrible (half of it is German).

Die App erinnert an die Anfänge elektronischer Fahrpläne in den 90ern. Immerhin kommen die Auskünfte recht schnell und übersichtlich. Aber Achtung, es besteht kein permanentes Login und z.B. das Deutschlandticket wird nicht zuverlässig offline gespeichert. Bei Kontrollen im Zug  kann das peinlich werden. Warum wird das D-Ticket nicht im Wallet-Format ausgeliefert?
Warum lassen sich gängige Bezahlverfahren wie Apple Pay oder PayPal nicht für das D-Ticket nutzen?
Die Verzahnung mit dem externen „Handyticket Deutschland“ macht die Nutzung zusätzlich kompliziert und schließt Gelegenheitsnutzer, z.B. Touristen faktisch aus.

Sicherlich kann man einiges an UI und UX der App verbessern, da muss ich einigen hier zustimmen. Abgesehen davon ist die App aber sehr hilfreich und bietet viel mehr Funktionalität also andere Apps von Verkehrsbetrieben außerhalb des VVO. Wenn man die App mal eine Weile genutzt hat, merkt man erst, was damit alles möglich ist und wie flexibel es einen macht.

Gives you the option to select a non-Germany country but refuses to proceed with registration and doesn’t say what the problem is. 
Suggest you use a fake German address.

Alles wunderbar abgesehen von einer Sache. Jedes mal wenn ich Abends oder Nachts meine Bahn raussuchen möchte, erblinde ich für einige Sekunden weil eure sch* App keinen darkmode hat. Nur darum nutze ich die DB-App öfter. Das ist wirklich schade.

Tried to register, no way to enter US address. Does not send a pin to a US number. Totally useless for Americans, good luck Europeans maybe it works for you all

Don’t bother trying to use this without an EU phone number you will not be able to register and you can’t buy tickets without registering. Such a stupid app and it is totally useless if you are visiting Dresden area. Ticket machines in the station are also super annoying. This system is useless and completely inconvenient for travelers.

In order to buy tickets you have to register for an account. In order to register for an account you must receive a text for account validation. This can only be sent to numbers in the EU, it seems. No luck if you are not from the short number of countries on the dropdown list.
