### 3/5 — Dvorak for iPad

*2022-11-15*

Exactly what I was looking for! It is a shame it doesn't have auto correct though, but for the price, I'm still happy. It also appears that there is no 'hide keyboard' button, which is irritating. Also the color scheme tends to invert based on the specific text box that you are in. Also, it doesn't work when you open the app store. I'd pay more for the app if these issues were to be fixed

### 4/5 — Good

*2019-11-14, version 1.1.2*

Sometimes the keys dont register when you type, so that needs fixing as its definitely an issue

### 3/5 — No auto completion or predictive typing

*2019-04-24*

While the description states that “auto-completion and physical keyboards are not supported,” I assumed this referred to actual “physical” keyboards. The screen shots show the predictive text area (above the _virtual_ keyboard), but it just sits there taking up screen real estate. Also, the font used on the keys is smaller than it needs to be. Yet again disappointed in an attempt to correct Apple’s oversight of not including a functional Dvorak layout. Thee stars because it loads, types, has caps lock and auto-capitalization. Not an adequate replacement for the built in keyboard layouts however. 49.5 tuppence wasted.

### 2/5 — 8MB

*2018-04-15, version 1.1.1*

It takes up 8MB just to remap a few keys. Also I had to uninstall it because it did not remap a Bluetooth keyboard.

### 2/5 — Really!?

*2016-02-16, version 1.1*

The keyboard is already smushed enough as it is, yet you figured it would be a good idea to cram the slash key on the home row also? Like really!!? Also youhave a huge amount of taken up useless space above the keyboard. Fix this other wise its good.

### 2/5 — Doesnt always render

*2015-10-21*

When i start to text qwerty shows up. I routinely have to close and restart apps to have nhe dvorak keyboard to show up. Also, auto-correct options are non-exisitent and the force touch of keyboard to 'scrub' doesn't work. Scrub is a new feature with 6s, so i understand that. But two major features are missing which i mentioned.

### 3/5 — Awesome app. Please update!!

*2015-10-06*

Really loving this app!! It helps me become more fluent in Dvorak! All i ask in for optimization in ios 9 and iphone 6s. Its really buggy... Other then that, great software! Would love to let this be my main keyboard!!

### 2/5 — NEEDS auto correct

*2015-07-31, version 1.1*

Correct keyboards but needs auto correct

### 3/5 — Please add Workman layout

*2015-05-03, version 1.1*

This is a good start. If you add the Workman keyboard layout, this app will really have no competitors on iPhone. Some apps have it for iPad, but this one has the most promise on iPhone.

### 4/5 — The only usable Dvorak keyboard out there

*2015-02-07, version 1.1*

Finally, here comes a usable Dvorak keyboard! I have tried pretty much all Dvorak keyboard apps in App Store, but this is the only one that is comparable with the built-in keyboards in the following aspects:
- Pop-up balloons showing pressed keys: When a key is pressed, this keyboard shows a "balloon" that reveals the pressed key hidden behind the finger tip, like the built-in keyboards do. This feature is essential for accurate typing, but other Dvorak keyboards do not have this feature.
- Fast loading: Switching from other keyboards to this keyboard is fast and has no delays. Other Dvorak keyboards have delays when loading.

Suggestions for improvement
- Less-crammed layout: The Dvorak keyboard has more alphabets in the bottom row than the QWERTY keyboard. Putting these alphabets as well as the Shift and Delete key in the bottom row makes the keys narrower than the built-in QWERTY keyboard's. Moving the Shift and Delete keys to the top row (by replacing non-alphabet keys that are currently there) and making the keys as wide as the built-in QWERTY keyboard's will make typing less error-prone. Maybe the developer can give users an option to switch to this less-crammed layout.
- Accented alphabets: In the built-in keyboards, press-and-holding a key (e.g., O) allows users to input accented version of the alphabet (e.g., Ô, Ö, Ò, ...), but this keyboard lacks this feature.
- Full-sized keyboard for the landscape view: Currently, holding the iPhone in the landscape orientation does not show a full-sized layout.

Hope this keyboard keeps improving!

### 4/5 — Finally! (Updated: Almost!)

*2015-02-01*

I've used this keyboard for a month and it has so much potential, however because there is no auto correct, the buttons need to be slightly larger (or spaced apart more) to increase the accuracy of a key press. Removing the right column of keys (/ and ?, - and _, and backspace) and splitting the return key into a return/backspace would be a viable alternative that'd I'd be interested in trying. Possibly included as a setting?

### 4/5 — Very good keyboard

*2015-01-27, version 1.1*

Very good keyboard, however lack of autocorrect makes this app basically useless in modern context :(

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No settings

*2025-05-18*

I am constantly fighting against the auto capitalization and auto peroid features, both features which can be turned off on the Apple keyboard. There are no in-app settings to fix this.

### 1/5 — On-screen only

*2023-04-25*

In addition to limitations mentioned in other reviews, this doesn’t work with the Apple Magic keyboard for iPad. On-screen only defeats the purpose of why Colemak was invented = to optimize the actual typing experience …

### 1/5 — it does not work with hardware keyboard

*2021-09-02*

Unfortunately, I have not been able to make it work with the folio touch.

### 1/5 — Wanted to like this

*2018-09-18, version 1.1.1*

The alignment for the Colemak layout is a mess. Since punctuation is left off the centered top row is all wrong in relation to the next row.

Lack of cursor placement with 3D Touch also makes it frustrating to use.

### 2/5 — Unresponsive keys

*2023-01-30, version 1.1.2*

As the other reviewer has said the key are unresponsive making typing very annoying. The result is that I’ve only used this for half a day and occasionally check in to see if it’s been updated.

I would love it if the dev would update the app I would immediately give it 5 stars.

### 2/5 — No swiping

*2022-11-20*

Doesn’t support swiping.

### 2/5 — Key unresponsiveness

*2022-10-22, version 1.1.2*

Keys are heavy and unresponsive, would be 5 star otherwise, not impressed.

### 2/5 — Works but doesnt

*2022-09-30*

Good:
Layout works. Installs and works easily on iphone and ipad.
Doesnt share my typing / sell my data is a HUGE plus IMO.
Helped me transition from QWERTY faster.

Bad:
SLOW. You'll be limited to about 5-7 wpm becuse unless you wait for EVERY letter to enter, itll skip the following letter. (1 letter/second wait)
Wnat makes things even worse is the lack of autocorrect, auto space or predictive text. Typing at my preffered speed renders almost entirely illegible words.
Lastly, lack of customizable colemak configuration wouid be nice, like a colemak DH or DHM.

Conclusion:
Honestly, id be willing to pay $10-$15 for a perfect solution but it doesnt seem like that option exists. I would not reccommend buying with the intention of never using the stock keyboard again. I wouid reccomend for learning/experimentation as it currently sits.

### 2/5 — Fix this please

*2022-02-06*

My time with this app has been short. But please fix the inconsistent key press accuracy

### 2/5 — Ok on screen but...

*2018-10-11, version 1.1.1*

Won't work on attached keyboad for ipad

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Colmak that integrates with new iphone

*2022-11-22*

As of late November 2022, iOS doesn't come with colmak keyboard option. I paid 99 cents for this app and now my default keyboard is Colmak, sweet.

I was able to set up using the same process as any other keyboard and it presents in my selected dark mode layout.

### 5/5 — Colemak for the win!

*2019-03-08*

This app is great for the Colemak layout! I wish more people knew about it!!!

### 5/5 — Exactly what it says it is

*2018-08-19*

Minimal and well executed. Theres a bit of a strange gray area on top of the keyboard but that may be due to limitations of iOS.

### 5/5 — There are only a few minor bugs and complaints.

*2017-04-09*

1. The gray bar at the top makes there be less space on the screen. It often gets in the way of things.

2. There should be an option to have only letters on the keyboard, as it would make the keys larger and errors less common.

Overall this app is probably the best Dvorak keyboard on the iOS app store.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2015-03-06*

The only recommendation I have is to increase the contrast of the "back" button for the settings on the dark keyboard layout (i.e. the Home screen keyboard).

### 5/5 — Colemak keyboard everywhere

*2015-02-04, version 1.1*

This app works well, giving you a colemak keyboard pretty much everywhere on the iPhone.

### 5/5 — Very well made, worthwhile purchase

*2015-01-03*

Everything I was hoping for - functionality with the look and feel of stock. Well done

### 5/5 — Finally a Colemak Keyboard!

*2014-12-09*

Pretty basic but only game in town for stock iphone. So totally awesome to finally have a colemak option!

### 4/5 — Yep it works

*2025-08-11, version 1.1.2*

Certainly is a keyboard layout

I would like autocorrect if that’s possible, though

### 4/5 — Great effort, can be better

*2022-06-07*

Hey! Thank you so much for this app. Your app is the closest to a great colemak experience. But whenever I switch to smallcase, the text on the key becomes smaller which makes it harder to spot keys.

Can you please change this to have a bigger size same as the default iOS keyboard (you can take that as a reference)

Looking forward to your response!

Cheers
Ajay
