## What is DW Witness?

Description
The DW Mobile Witness™ app turns the camera on a supported smartphone or tablet into a surveillance camera that can be viewed and recorded with a DW Spectrum IPVMS* or VMAX IP Plus™ PoE NVR (Network Video Recorder). 
Simply download the app and type in your DW Spectrum’s IP address or NVR’s IP Address/URL, port, user name and password. 
Now, when you press the button in the app to activate your camera and start transmitting to DW Spectrum IPVMS or VMAX IP Plus NVR.

APP FEATURES with DW Spectrum:
• You Control the Connection.
• Record setting must be set on the DW Spectrum (requires 1 Professional License)
• Supports Front and Rear Cameras.
• Video Resolution: 720p
• Frame Rate: 15fps
• Flash Control: On or Off.
NVR SUPPORTED
• Blackjack Bolt-LX, Blackjack Cube/Cube-LX/Cube-DL, Blackjack P-Rack/P-Rack-LX, Blackjack E-Rack/E-Rack-LX.

APP FEATURES with VMAX IP Plus:
• You Control the Connection and Recording* from the App.
• Supports Front and Rear Cameras.
• Video Resolution: 1080p, 720p, 480p or 288p.
• Frame Rate: 15fps or 5fps.
• Flash Control: On or Off.
• Transmits the iPhone/iPad's current location(Requires 1.1.9.2 firmware or higher).

*There must be an available channel on your VMAX IP Plus™ PoE NVR. Enter into the app the URL of your NVR, the NVR’s User ID and Password. If the phone or tablet is connected to the Internet, your camera now appears on your NVR and is being recorded.

I was able to use this app to turn the camera on my iPhone into a camera on my VmaxIP Plus NVR. Even though I was traveling the video from my iPhone was being recorded at my office.

This app is unbelievable! The most useful development in video security that I have come across.  I made sure we had updated the firmware on our client’s recorder, downloaded the app to my iPad, pushed the button on the app and PRESTO! There was the feed from my iPad camera being recorded! It worked great over my 3G connection from our office. The client recorder is 45 miles away, but I guess it could be anywhere, right? They said that they will be having all their security personnel install this app on their iPhones and stream live when on patrol. It is for their protection as much as the company’s.

iPhone 6, Vmax ip Plus 12 ch NVR, 5 PoE channels in use. Enter user credentials press connect. Message states. Cannot record!  Totally regretting buying Digital Watchdog. 2.1 Megapix camera image quality is horrible. Just a complete waste of money. Highly recommend spending money elsewhere.  There is a reason there are no comments allowed on YouTube and there is no actual real life demo or footage. Product is a joke and I'm a sucker for purchasing. Don't be a victim like me of Digital watchdogs lame product
