## What is DWAC?

Driver identification
Using a portable device such as a smartphone, iPhone, or tablet (see FAQs for compatible devices), the driver scans in a separate QR barcode (quick indicator) that identifies the driver checking safety.

Vehicle identification
The driver then scans the vehicle's QR code which allows the system to display a list of car points to be monitored. QR code label sets can be provided to include any special vehicles or associated equipment safety checks

Daily mileage recording
Once the system has detected the vehicle, the driver is instructed to enter the recorded mileage at the beginning of each safety test. The mileage is checked against the previous input and displays an alert if the mileage is less than previously recorded

User friendly system
The driver will then scan the unique QR code at each checkpoint next to the vehicle; the mobile device will read the QR code and display the test to be completed at that inspection point

Timed Vehicle Test
The system will record the time taken for security checks and since each checkpoint in the vehicle has a different QR code this will give added assurance that the check has been completed thoroughly

Defect alerts in real-time
If a defect is found, the driver selects a feature description from the predefined list and indicates whether the vehicle is safe or not and can work with the marked feature and free text field for further comment. Any problems are reported promptly to the Supervisor or Responsible Manager by email

Safe and secure
Once the Inspection is complete the data is transferred to a secure database and can be accessed 24/7 by an authorized user from any web browser.

Complete history stored in file for life of the vehicle including photos with defects
A complete history of each check, including photographs, is kept in the vehicle record and selected workspaces can be automatically notified of the need for any modifications. Up to 7 days of security checks are kept for reference depending on the storage space available on the handheld device

Reduce errors and inefficiencies
Driver's Walk Around Check is an electronic version of the manual testing process. In an electronic format that is not only easy to use but also reduces the errors and inefficiencies associated with paper testing. Complies with DVSA security and maintenance guide
