## What is DWD WarnWetter?

WarnWetter App, DWD National Meteorological Service of Germany

The WarnWetter App offers the following functions (in the free version):

• Current warning situation for Germany down to municipal level
• Favorites function for on-site (GPS required) and selected locations
 - detailed information on the warning situation
 - configurable warning elements and warning levels
 - configurable alarm function (push)
• Social media sharing function for sharing information from the WarnWetter App e.g. via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail.
• Warnings about natural hazards (floods, storm surges and avalanches).
• Predicted trajectories of thunderstorm cells.
• Coast warnings and lake warnings for Bavarian lake and Lake Constance.
• Video information in case of severe weather situations.
• Features such as configurable widgets, different wind speed units, light/dark design, etc.
• Customizable start page for your favorite products

For a one-time fee (in-app purchase) the WarnWetter App can be expanded to a full version including the following functions:

• Map function to display the current weather situation and a forecast up to 7 days in advance.
 - Precipitation differentiated into rain, snow, sleet and hail (radar, model forecasts).
 - Clouds (satellite data, model forecasts).
 - Lightning (lightning location, forecasts).
 - Wind (model forecasts).
 - Temperatures (model forecasts).

• Thunderstorm monitor with extended functions (current thunderstorm cells, lightning, etc.)

• Information on thermal sensitivity and increased UV intensity

Ich kann die app voll empfehlen, vor allem mit Vollversion! Die 3€ sind es wert! Uper genau und gut geschriebene Warnungen. 

Allerdings gibt es einige kleiner bugs: 1. Manchmal lädt der Wetterradar für 5-10 minuten in seltenen Fällen bis zu ner Stunde keine neuen Radar updates. 2. Neuerdings steht selbst bei Deutschen städten, die man auf dem Radar anklickt jetzt „keine Warnungen verfügbar“. 3. Manchmal crasht die app, z. B. wenn ich den Radar anklicke oder bei den warnungen runterscrolle.

Wenn solche dinge gefixt werden, würde die app 10 Sterne verdienen!!

Bin wie immer mit den Funktionen dieser App sehr zufrieden! Leider funktioniert die Wetterlagen Anzeige unterwegs viel zu langsam um die gewählte Funktion zu starten kommt es doch in gewissen Situationen darauf an sie schnell sehen zu können sprich wenn ein Unwetter plötzlich aufzieht! Was mir auch aufgefallen ist das Symbol „Map“  verdeckt öfters Ortsnamen das sollte möglichst so nicht sein. Sonst funktioniert die App gut weiter so auch was die Wettervorhersagen betrifft bin ich im großen und ganzen damit Zufrieden und dass ist wichtig! Noch eine Bitte lasst diese Bewertung nicht im Nirvana verschwinden den das spart Zeit für die nächste Bewertung! Danke

Seit Jahren ein zuverlässiger Begleiter, präzise und rechtzeitig Unwetterwarnungen auf Postleitzahlen und Orte heruntergebrochen. Dazu eine Kartendarstellung, die sich individuell konfigurieren lässt, zum Beispiel Wetterlage, GewitterMonitor, Pollenbelastung, lokale Wetterstation. Für mehrere Orte lassen sich Unwetterwarnungen konfigurieren, diese werden dann auch im Sperrbildschirm oder per Banner sofort angezeigt außerhalb der App. Bescheidener, eher minimalistischer Auftritt, vielleicht lässt sich am Design in Zukunft noch etwas arbeiten, auch das Logo der App verdient einen modernen Anstrich. Klare Empfehlung auch für die kostenpflichtige Version. Schon einige Gewitter auf Tour und in Kinderbegleitung so rechtzeitig umgeleitet

Downloaded or weather related to German cities and there are none in this app.  Want a refund!  But the support is in German, no option for translation. Should’ve looked at the number of reviews before I downloaded.

Eigentlich eine meiner fast täglich genutzten Apps, aber seit wenigen Tagen erscheinen beim Start jedes Mal unnötige und nervige Einstellungsabfragen, deren Antworten sie sich offenbar nicht einmal merken kann und die sich z.T. auch nur mit bestimmten Toggle-Einstellungen überhaupt mit „Weiter“ bestätigen lassen und das auch nur bis zur vorletzten Abfrage. Wer denkt sich denn so etwas aus und testet es? Wie erwähnt: Bisher eigentlich eine meiner Lieblings-Apps und hoffentlich schnell wieder …

Update:
Ursache für das erwähnte Problem ist ganz offensichtlich das katastrophale iOS 17.7.7 (Update von Apple jetzt zurückgezogen). Diese Version kann sich keine individuellen Einstellungen merken. Ich habe das Problem auch mit anderen Apps und kann nur auf einen BugFix hoffen. WarnWetter aber bekommt meine Sterne zurück.

To be fair the app was a little clunky a few years back when all the reviews were written.

However, things have changed for the better since then. 

This is an extremely informative weather app for when in Germany. The DWD is the German gold standard of meteorology and their info is spot on. 👍🏻

Die hier viel bemängelte „falsche“ Vorhersage ist bei uns nicht Stand der Dinge. In unserer Familie nutzen alle diese APP. Wir bemerken jedoch kleine Unterschiede in der Vorhersage und dem aktuellen Wetter je nachdem welchen Ort man nutzt - „Wetter vor Ort“ oder unseren Ort als „Favorit“ hinterlegt weichen ab und an leicht voneinander ab. Beim genauen Hinsehen bemerkt man das als „Favorit“ die Vorhersage an der nächsten Wetterstation (steht bei uns ca. 10 km entfernt) genommen wird. Bei „Wetter vorOrt“ basiert die Vorhersage auf einen Ort der nur ca. 1,5 km entfernt ist. 
Optisch haben die „privaten“ sicher mehr zu bieten. Die IOS Wetter APP lässt es sogar im „Always on Display“ regnen, die Sonne scheinen oder Wolken am Mond vorbeiziehen. Aber letztendlich ist uns die passende Vorhersage  viel wichtiger. Zusätzlich gibt es sehr viele Einstellmöglichkeiten und auf Wetter basierende Berichte.
