## What is DXAlert?

DXAlert – Propagation Conditions

  NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.

  Whether you're a CB radio operator, ham radio enthusiast, or just curious
  about propagation, DXAlert gives you the key numbers you need — updated live,
  straight from official NOAA sources.
  
  What DXAlert monitors:
  • Solar Flux Index (SFI) — how active the Sun is today
  • Planetary K-index — geomagnetic disturbance level
  • Estimated A-index — daily geomagnetic activity
  • Sporadic-E seasonal likelihood — is Es season active?
  
  Bands covered:
  • CB (27 MHz) — Sporadic-E & F2 skip
  • 6m — Es + ionospheric conditions
  • 2m & 70cm — ionospheric activity context

  Honest about limitations: Sporadic-E cannot be reliably predicted from solar
  data — DXAlert shows a seasonal climatology estimate, not a live Es detection.
