The app is a work of art! Everything is laid out perfectly with little to no learning curve. It works great on my iPhone 15 Pro, but crashes on my iPad 11” M5 but the dev is aware and has submitted an update and I can’t wait to try it!

If you’re a shortwave enthusiast this basically does just about everything from station broadcast schedules to listening to available SDR servers including your own running a RTL-TCP server.

The iPad launch issue has been fixed, and iPad support will be restored in the upcoming update.

I’m also continuing to refine the iPad experience specifically. The current update focuses first on restoring reliable functionality, while further updates will progressively improve the layouts and make better use of the larger iPad display.

This is a major DXLens update focused on startup reliability, faster schedule access, better source transparency, expanded propagation context, stronger reception logging, and a more consistent listening workflow.

• More reliable startup and database handling: DXLens now uses a verified, persistent installed broadcast database with safer activation, integrity checks, recovery paths, and selective on-demand loading. Startup work has been reduced and deferred so the app can become usable sooner without repeatedly rebuilding or decoding the full schedule database.

• Schedule Changes: the “What Changed” view highlights meaningful added, removed, and modified broadcasts. Optional notifications can be limited to major/seasonal changes, all meaningful changes, or disabled.

• Faster Search and On Air: Search, filters, counts, Jump to Band, source tabs, and pagination now query the installed database directly and hydrate only the records needed. Search All preserves the individual EiBi, Aoki/NDXC, and HFCC source records rather than cross-source merging them.

• Better source reconciliation: stronger station, recurrence, transmitter, language, and technical-data safeguards reduce false merges while preserving original source evidence. Source Agreement now distinguishes schedule agreement from technical corroboration, and Original Source Records remain available when sources differ.

• Improved Forecast and Home performance: repeated calculations, decoding, and duplicate query work have been reduced. Forecast work is demand-driven, Home map data becomes available sooner, and Search/Forecast state is preserved more reliably across navigation and short background transitions.

• Expanded Ionosphere & Space Weather tools: improved Now, 72 h, 30 d, Events, Solar, and Polar views; clearer event timelines; recent solar-driver context; canonical event details; solar imagery evidence and two-source comparison; and polar/greyline evidence for supported paths.

• Reception Opportunity Watches: create a watch from Broadcast Details and evaluate whether reception conditions improve, with clearer evidence, audit context, and iCloud-synced watch definitions.

• Better notifications and Reception Criteria: blocked stations are respected throughout notification reconciliation, language criteria are more accurate, and alert repair/testing tools are clearer.
