The initial incentives to earn money for doing modules and attending groups was helpful since I started my recovery journey unemployed. They give you a Visa card that you can use to treat yourself to manicures, food, gas, etc and you get paid to answer brief surveys, breathalyzer that records you blowing for alcohol percentage, and a swab test that looks for legal and illegal meds or alcohol. You get paid even if you are positive for anything. It’s great for accountability. No meetings to attend and it gives you an idea of how long drugs and alcohol are in your system to make you aware of your own habits. Also you can’t use the Visa card at bars and atms. They claim you can be rewarded by staying sober, but it costs more to use this program than you can get back. They are basically using addicts to earn money. It is disgusting how these companies try and profit off of people who have medical problems. The policy feels unfair. I’m capped at being paid for 2 tests per week, yet the company claims they “can’t” cap how many times they make me test. I’ve already dealt with this twice — once being tested 4 times in a week, the last on a Sunday while with my family. When I refused that 4th test, I was told my streak (which impacts pay) wouldn’t be penalized this time, but if it happens again they can’t adjust it. That’s ridiculous, because the imbalance is built into their own system. An algorithm can easily be programmed with weekly caps, so this isn’t about ability — it’s about policy. Right now, all the limits fall on the user, none on the company. If I’m testing 4 times a week because you can’t cap it… then there should be no cap on pay either. Every test should be worth the $13.30. If they have no issue with capping pay, there should be no issue capping the amount of tests either. Although if by any chance you do need help or have questions it’s super easy to get ahold of the team. My schedule is opposite to your typical work schedule so any time I do need to contact them it’s when the office is closed yet they get back to me the next day. Literally when they open it seems. Now to be completely honest the whole point of it is to encourage addicts to get sober and stay sober by offering a monetary incentive however I get the rewards no matter what the test results say. Now I’m not necessarily complaining I mean I am an addict so if I can get away with it I will. However, I did start this in hopes of it being beneficial in helping me to get sober on top of earning a little bit of money. So keep that in mind. All in all though I really appreciate this app and the process. This is a new idea to help addicts, one I have never heard of before, and I think it’s great! Also I wanted to make sure that I let the entire staff know that I greatly appreciate all of them! Anyone I have come in contact with was super helpful, kind and supportive.
