The translation is a bit goofy and sometimes makes no sense, but in a funny way. Game mechanics are simple enough I do feel that if you truly want to bring the nostalgia of playing dynasty warriors controller support might need to be considered for those who just want that old school ps2-ps3 feeling But as far as I’m concerned this game was made, by a team who put a lot of thought into the mechanics gameplay and overall design, 4 stars only because without the controller it’s missing that nostalgia feeling that feeling that brings me back to just putting the game in the drive for the first time. But then again it’s meant to be it’s own game for its own platform, I feel you can learn to love this game from the interactive story to the simple but effective controls and the outstanding graphics everything blends so smooth phone doesn’t get hot battery doesn’t drain and most minor to no lag/delay 👍 **Developer response:** Thanks for your sincere comments! Thanks again! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst customer service ever *2024-01-23* When you visit app support website, there is no customer support there you need to contact customer support at the game at working time after one or two days they will reply, if he couldn’t support you he will ask you patiently wait an email after two or three days you receive the email if he couldn’t help you he will guide you again to game support and we cannot email reply. We'll see if there's any need to add characters in the future. ### 2/5 — Plays fine, but WAY too over-monetized *2023-08-28* This plays like DW7 light, and that can definitely be enjoyable. However, the game is horrendously over-monetized. In this game, you will find: - 8 different gacha (special banner, units, costumes, weapon skins, officers, advisors, horses, and “stargazing”) - 3 different monthly paid battle passes, with occasional time limited weekly/bi-weekly battle passes. - 5 different weekly or monthly paid subscriptions - over a dozen different currencies needed for various gacha (the don’t all use the same currency), in game stores (the market has multiple shops, and each uses different currency), and upgrades. - multiple types of PvP where some units are by default (mostly the SSRs) more powerful then other units (ie. P2W), and some content is gated behind unit power level as well. - limited time paid offers popping up multiple times a play session This could have been very good, but the monetization is oppressive and ruins the experience. ### 2/5 — Byzantine Warriors *2023-08-16* This isn’t the nostalgic hit of hack n slash that you would expect. When you’re fighting, the mechanics and gameplay are spot on Dynasty Warriors. Unfortunately, you spend most of your time navigating a labyrinthine resource management and upgrade system while also carrying out infrastructure projects for your locality. The on screen text is too small, menus are cluttered, and all i want to do is reap Yellow Turbans. Like, let me login in, thumb through a couple of menus, pick the character with the coolest weapon, then rack up innumerable KOs with zero remorse. Let me effortlessly button mash away an entire male generation. Instead, you’re gathering ingot to build a brewery, or a training camp, or looking at a recruitment map for more theoretical mindless drones to lag behind your hero. We'll see how to improve the game experience in future. ### 3/5 — Dynasty Warriors 7 mobile sort of *2023-08-20* The gameplay is pretty smooth and similar to the console counterpart though put into smaller stages. The resource management is a bit over the top though. So many items and buildings to keep up with. It seems a bit much to have resource management and gatcha aspects. Would prefer if all characters could be unlocked in story mode but shards be the gatcha. I don’t know how long I would have to play to unlock Zhuge Liang, Lu Meng or Xiahou Yuan, but I don’t know if my patience will last to that point. There are some good ideas here but it’s a lot to learn and keep up with. Perhaps things will become more streamlined in time, but the gameplay is solid in combat which is a big achievement. ### 3/5 — It hurts to say but.. *2023-08-12* It hurts to say but I believe you have got it wrong with this one. I mean of course it’s ok, it’s like any other hack and slash game now a days. most real fans of the series played a completely version of DW, we’re all old now.. all we want to do is hack and slash. (Not going to argue about adapting with time) but really I spend more time looking at ads popping up than I do actually hacking and slashing yellow turbans. Above all it’s just completely monetized. Nothing like we use to play. Like I said I can’t even freaking hack and slash when I get home from work I have to do 15 other things first. I GET IT, it’s making money in 2023. But my opinion it needs to be more like the DW series in the 2000s. There are 1000s of these games. Nothing more needs to be said, however I will say it will be nice to play with Da Qiao, I liked her two rods. I still fresh but I do have my fav which is Diao Chan! However I truly wish you all have brought back her originally weapon. I think the whip will be a great alternative I think the spiral kick combo could be used with her classic weapons, the dragon kick continuation from her original weapons should stay as well. ### 5/5 — 9.99/10 *2023-08-20* Finally a good dynasty warriors mobile game. My only request is that we can fight with or against multiple other players in large stage. Also a server vs server war mode where we can fight against other players on the battle stage and gain points will definitely make this a perfect. Lastly I’m not a fan of the limited “Expedition Orders” I’ll like to play the story mode more often throughout the day than to wait the next day.
