This app makes swallowing assessment so much easier to complete. It’s straightforward to use, keeps everything organized, and gives helpful prompt so you don’t miss any important details. I like that it is based on best practice guidelines, but still feel simple and practical in real clinical settings. It helps to give prompts for proper documentation as well (e.g. what you checked, and what you observed). Overall it is a really useful tool for anyone working with dysphasia clients!

This app was invaluable for when I had my first clinical placement at a long term care facility. Without prior knowledge or experience working with individuals in this setting, I learned a lot about how to assess and provide interventions for dysphagia through this app and by connecting the concepts to what I learned from my preceptor in practice! I gained a better understanding of an occupational therapist’s role in long term care – specifically, how to identify potential issues with swallowing and risks for aspiration, and how to modify diets to make them safer for the individual to eat and drink. I found the study cases very helpful, to test me on my knowledge and keep me engaged with the learning. Overall, this was a really great resource to have on placement and allowed me to learn so much about working with dysphagia.
