Poor. ### 1/5 — Awful *2024-12-29, version 1.0* Before you buy ANY one of their fires read these reviews. They have tied their tied all the settings up with an app that doesn’t work at all. They never update it… at total shambles. DO NOT BUY AN EVONIC FIRE. ### 1/5 — Expensive kit awful app *2024-12-27, version 1.0* For such an expensive piece of kit you would think a working app would be a necessity but no, just an Evonic fires logo with a Christmas hat is all you get so it’s useable. Think carefully if you want a working fire before splashing your cash on a fire like this. ### 1/5 — App does not let you log in *2024-12-22, version 1.0* If you download the app it immediately presents you with a login page with no way to register a new account. For anyone having a similar issue; what you need to do is change your WiFi settings on your device to the new fireplace then access the app to register. This is, quite frankly, baffling design. I work in software and have worked with product and app design and I have never heard of a design this obtuse. Don’t buy this fireplace and if you’re Evonix reading this; rethink your design. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iOS 18.1.1 *2024-12-07, version 1.0* Downloaded, registered after a lot of faff, and then finally open the app and just get evonicfires logo with a Santa and a blank screen. Merry Christmas to you too. ### 1/5 — The app just doesn’t work. *2024-11-29, version 1.0* The app just doesn’t work. This really affects and diminishes the use of the product. I think there’s a connectivity issue, where there’s quite a convoluted setup to link the fire to the phone via the home WiFi. I’ve managed to get the app working a couple of times, the rest of the time for no apparent reason, it’s an app with a blank page with no option to do anything with it. If using the app means that you’ve got to reset the login via the WiFi setup and connection each time, then it’s essentially faulty and unusable. I wouldn’t recommend the fire because of this. It’s very disappointing. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2024-11-26, version 1.0* This app is buggy and problematic. Continually disconnects won’t let me login and is frankly useless. Never worked, now app refuses to accept our fire is online, despite it being online and WiFi visible… so no ability to use the very expensive fire over Christmas period… disappointing and absolutely no support available as office / support line closed until 5th Jan?!? I wish I had before spending a small fortune on this sun-standard system. ### 1/5 — Nightmare *2022-06-25, version 1.0* I’ve spent over £2000 on a fireplace that I can’t use the app its useless and it’s the only way to control the fireplace I can’t get past login page to set up an account wish I’d never seen the bloody thing was the worst £2000 ever spent I’ve got on and off for flame effect and that’s it wish I’d spent £200 at B&Q if that’s all I wanted This is my first ever review I’m so disappointed !!!!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Evonic- Moronic *2026-01-16, version 1.0* I purchased the Gilmour 6 in December 2023, and was thrilled once it was installed. I naively neglected to check the reviews, as I was buying from a very reputable dealer, who did a fabulous job of the install. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. To begin with, I didn’t use the app, as I was fine using the supplied remote. After a few months, the heater was blowing cold air after the fire had only been on for 10 mins or less. I did speak to a guy from evonic, who talked me through the process of downloading the app, and connecting to the fire. It worked for about as long as we were on the phone, then reverted to its 10 mins blast and bust. I recently tried again to download the App on my iPad, instead of my android phone. The reviews didn’t inspire confidence, and I’ve just spent half an hour gaffing around trying to get it to work. Having to connect directly with it via Wi-Fi simply doesn’t work, and every time I open the app, it says no fire registered, and suggests turning the fire off and on-something I found I had to do every time I wanted to reconnect. In summary, the fire is an expensive ornament, and the app is about as much use as Anne Frank’s drum kit. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2025-11-17, version 1.0* Complete failure it does not connect to fire waste of time ### 1/5 — New fire *2025-10-10, version 1.0* Just spent thousands of pounds on a new fire by evonicfires and it’s the worst mistake I have ever made, the app is absolutely useless, will not connect after hours of trying, and I am fully clued up with IT so it is definitely not me struggling. The app is not suitable to be issued to any customer and the product should not be available for purchase in this current state. Ok initially it kept losing connection but Rob was brilliant from customer services. He called me back once he’d done some research. Not between 9-5 but at 8 pm. He was so very patient and knowledgeable. Fantastic fire and now with the app also now connected to Alexa it’s amazing. Would 100% recommend. ### 4/5 — An evolving app *2020-10-20, version 1.0* I’ve struggled with the old app for 3 months. Clunky, poor design and more unstable than a house built on sand. This app is a big leap forward and appears stable at last. The interface is more intuitive and less jumpy. Easier to adjust timers and thermostat. Much easier to control the fire when away from the property, ideal if you are a carer for an elderly disabled relative, not yet full control but it’s getting there. More importantly for me is the fact that Evonic now assure me that I can use this new app to control two fires in different properties without conflict. ### 3/5 — Stopped working *2024-11-23, version 1.0* I’ve recently updated to iOS 18.2 and the app has stopped working. I don’t know if this a coincidence or another reason. I’ve reported it to the tech support and was told to make sure I’d got the latest version of the app (which I have). Now waiting for a reply. Happy change my rating if/when the issue is resolved. ### 3/5 — Trouble Loging In *2021-10-21, version 1.0* Worked fine initially, but now trying to log in on my husbands phone. Won’t accept password and cannot reset password as expecting a Captcha check but there is not Capture test on screen.
