Renders the £2000 otherwise well built totally fire hit and miss. The setup process is also poorly instructed and the app seems to be missing the standard method to change background colours. Finally, too many apps in the App Store makes it confusing as to which app to use. It seems the manufacturers are fully aware of the connectivity problems as they’ve produced a YouTube video to try explain the reset process. Apps can be recoded and fixed, but as I look through the review history this stretches back well over a year, so I doubt the manufacturer is invested in enhancements all things considered. Ultimately, who has time to fanny around with connecting and reconnecting a fire? -who has the time to write a review? Answer: someone mightily p-d off!! ### 1/5 — Omg *2021-12-18, version 1.2* Paid nearly 2k for a fire that you can rarely connect to….apparently you can get. Remote but it costs £250….seriously!!!! ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2021-11-23, version 1.2* The fire is great, but without a decent app to use the fire it’s completely pointless. It NEVER connects so I can’t use the heater or change the flames. Please do us a favour and upgrade your apps performance, do some load and connection testing! We’re paying a fortune for the fires, it’s ridiculous that we can’t use them properly. Very unreliable to connect the fire and does not work any anything but a very simple home network. I’ve deleted the app after I figured out you can access the fire directly from a browser as long as you know the IP address. I’ve configured my network to reserve the IP assigned and created a shortcut, so works exactly the same as the app, apart from I can host the fire in a separate subnet and route traffic from allowed devices. ### 1/5 — Terrible app, spoils £2000.00 fire *2021-02-19, version 1.2* This App is terrible, is very simple to work,when it does, but you can go days where it can’t connect. What a terrible waste of £2000.00, a fire we cannot use, the connection is so unreliable, the simple fix is switch off at the power source and try to reconnect, it may work it may not. The App need a full rework, the developers must know there are major issues, but have not corrected it, I think the only way forward is return the fire to Ebonics for a full refund, after 4 months of this, I’ve had enough. Got to be the crappest app ever made, you have to connect to its own WiFi which disables your phone or tablet from anything other than fire controls, if you log out then heat goes off! Will be returning expensive fire, not fit for purpose! The number one is the fact it’s only 3 watts so only good for a good room for show. No heat to warm the room. Second … there is no remote control. It is controlled from your phone which frequently doesn’t log in. It’s a nightmare Really wish we hadn’t wasted our money. The app is frustrating, takes ages to connect to the fire. Often having to switch the fire on and off at the mains. Problem is, the app rarely connects to the fire meaning constantly switching the fire on and off at the mains, restarting the app over and over again until it syncs.
