### 4/5 — Tamil Version Required

*2026-05-17*

Overall it is good. It would be great if we can have the proper Tamil version of the bible. The IRV and ERV versions available does not match with the regular version.

### 4/5 — 5-4-3-…

*2026-03-21, version 13.3*

5 stars for how it operates, 4 stars for having to pay, 3 stars for paying for what I’ve ALREADY have been using and STILL NOT GETTING THE NASB!..
I’ve loved e-Sword for decades!..
I’ve used it over and over!..
There’s nothing like it!..
But here recently, I’ve had to reset my phone.
I couldn’t get the NASB back!?..
I paid for the upgrade and paid for it again!..
They ask for a pass key but they have NEVER given me one!

### 3/5 — Daily verse

*2026-03-21, version 13.3*

Very very disappointed that the random daily verse was never brought back !!!!!!

### 3/5 — Taking notes

*2026-03-01, version 13.3*

There in no way that I can take notes. I read the tutorial and the way it tells how to take notes is not available

### 4/5 — Missing feature

*2026-02-12, version 13.3*

Great app, but no landscape mode. Very disappointing for an app like this not to have a landscape option.

### 2/5 — It’s ok

*2026-02-04, version 13.3*

Won’t let me download any other bible versions

### 4/5 — Request for landscape version on iPad

### 5/5 — E- Sword Plus

*2026-01-28, version 13.3*

I wish I could have the e sword plus on the iPhone and not just the iPad. So much more can be done on the plus version.

### 5/5 — A. Pope

*2026-01-27, version 13.3*

Awesome study tool that I’ve used for at least 10+ years. It’s a library in my hand. Sermon prep is sped up with this tool.

### 5/5 — Classic Bible Study Tool

*2026-01-17, version 13.3*

My grandfather used E-sword on his old IPad throughout my childhood and as a young adult now in the ministry myself I have found it to be a scriptural gold mine. One thing that would this to the next level would be verse of the day, thank you.

### 5/5 — Question

*2026-01-16, version 13.3*

Great, how to upgrade to HD? I accidentally click LT instead of HD, please I need to know, thank you and blessings

### 5/5 — The Best Bible App

*2026-01-14, version 13.3*

e-Sword is hands down the best and cleanest Bible app available. The interface is logical, uncluttered and easy to navigate. Bible tools are easily and quickly reached as needed within the context of reading. Bible translations, commentaries, reading plans and daily readings provide ample choices and variety for a wide population of readers. Just excellent!

### 3/5 — Hyper links

*2026-01-12, version 13.3*

I would like the hyper link of the biblical quotes to be updated automatically in notes without the need to go quote by quote.

### 5/5 — Almost Perfect

*2026-01-09, version 13.3*

I’ve used esword for almost 20 years. I absolutely love it. The only thing I feel it’s missing is the ability to put the library into folders to help with organizing. I’ve purchased almost everything there is to buy, plus have a lot of the free resources as well, but it’s a lot to go through when studying

### 5/5 — Hola

*2026-01-07, version 13.3*

Agradecido… Saludos

### 3/5 — Not what I was hoping for…

*2026-01-01, version 13.3*

I just purchased this and though I know it’s only the amount of a coffee and im sure its a decent ap, but I was really disappointed you couldn’t look up scriptures/strongs concordance from numbers alone.. that was the main reason I got it. :/

### 2/5 — Cumbersome App & NKJV Costs an Additional $14.99

*2025-12-24, version 13.3*

I paid $3.99 for this app and I think the only usefulness is the Hebrew & Greek word references in the KJV+ version. It’s super complicated to navigate. I’ll stick to the app I was using before this one. Also, it’s $14.99 to add NKJV, yet the Calvinist ESV Bible is free. Go figure. (The default is KJV and KJV+ which is the Hebrew & Greek word reference version, so those versions do come with the $3.99 at least.)

### 3/5 — Not able to rotate

*2025-11-23*

Not able to rotate in my ipad

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Update?

*2026-04-02, version 13.3*

### 1/5 — Opinión

### 1/5 — Complex

*2025-09-15, version 13.3*

It s complicate to use it

### 1/5 — unintuitive useless app

*2025-04-18, version 12.5*

i paid for full version and lite. This is the worse app for Bible references. I tried contacting the support, but they’re are not very helpful. I had long moved on to other paid and free apps, and found them very useful, but anytime I try this app I am so frustrated because I paid a lot more than any of my other paid apps, but find absolutely zero value.

### 1/5 — Ok

*2025-04-01, version 12.5*

Ok at best. I bought but have at least three free as good and one free better. I may keep or remove when I don’t use as much. After using one day, I suspect I will remove and go on.

I have used some for a couple of weeks. I deleted. I regret buying.

### 1/5 — Highlight does not work

*2025-02-23, version 12.5*

Highlight does not work.

### 1/5 — Engaño

*2025-01-18, version 12.5*

Ofrecen la App en varios idiomas y el 99% son versiones en inglés. Pocas opciones en español

### 1/5 — The “compare“ feature doesn’t work

*2024-12-23, version 12.5*

I want to compare bibles side by side and the feature doesn’t work when I click on “Bible compare” it just shows a random Bible translation it doesn’t compare one Bible verse with another one like it’s supposed to.

### 1/5 — No sirve

*2024-10-12, version 12.4*

No sirve para los del habla hispana tiene muchos candados cobran por descargar una biblia en español o cualquier otra opción que sea en español no le encuentro ningún uso edificante

### 1/5 — WILL NOT LET ME HIGHLIGHT

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thankfulness

*2026-08-12, version 13.3*

The layout is very user friendly. Resources are vast, much of which are free. Been using e-Sword for years and it is evident that the team has prayerfully considered all aspects of its design, as doing unto the Lord! My opinion, this is the easiest most resourceful Bible app that is available. You will receive responses to any questions you may have. You WILL be truly blessed, whether for quick use and most definitely if using for Bible study. YOU WILL BE BLESSED! Am so THANKFUL, this app has and will continue to be a part of my daily encouragements.
Thank you e-Sword team! God richly bless you!

### 5/5 — Great Bible Study tool

*2026-07-31, version 13.3*

This much study power in an app is great and it’s free for

### 5/5 — So perfect of a bible app

*2026-05-22, version 13.3*

Would there be anyway to display 2 bibles at once on the same page? I'd like to have the NKJV and the Samoan bible at the same time?

### 5/5 — No 1 bible program

*2026-04-22, version 13.3*

It has everything you need to study the word of God in a deeper way ,books commentaries encyclopedias dictionaries it is so handy to click on a word and get a deeper meaning or advice on a Bible verse from the commentaries that you’re not sure about

### 5/5 — Awesome Bible App

*2026-04-12, version 13.3*

Awesome app, been using it for over a decade. Wish there was a notes section for personal notes but other than that, it’s fantastic.

### 5/5 — Excellent app. Easy to use.

*2026-02-25, version 13.3*

Lots of useful resources Always works perfectly.

### 5/5 — Please add device sync

*2026-02-25, version 13.3*

I have been using this app for years and it has been a great blessing to me. I appreciate that it is available at a nominal price. On a single device, such as iPhone and iPad, it will you serve well, even if you are a Bible scholar. The resources are deep and broad, and many of the best are free. Verses can be tagged and notes added, and on the iPad version your own notes and even resources can be searched. Greek and Hebrew resources are available for free. I don’t want to go on and on but there is one feature that is missing and which I have been requesting for years, that that is for the app to sync between devices on iOS and Mac. Yes it is possible to export the resource files from one device to iCloud and then import them to another device. And yes this process has become easier. But it is still tedious and it is easy to accidentally overwrite more recent changes. But I still give the app 5 stars.

With iCloud, is it not possible to keep the resource and working files in a common location that all versions of the app for Mac and iOS can access? I am willing to pay extra for this feature. Thank you for supporting God’s word and work with this app.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-02-20, version 13.3*

I loved reading the bible for my first time using strongs concordance a few years ago. I have a better understanding of the words given their Hebrew or Greek significance.

### 5/5 — 100% recommend

*2026-02-07, version 13.3*

Use it daily. Take a little time and learn the platform. The best I’ve found. Love it!

### 5/5 — Great app plus doesn’t track you

*2026-02-01, version 13.3*

I Love the layout for looking up verses and no starting with other things but straight into the Bible but I also greatly appreciate that the maker of this app has Not only made a good Bible app but one that doesn’t ask my permission to teach my location or finances etc. I was quite surprised at the permissions I’d given to another unnamed Bible app I used to use.
