Window Based Flight Computer The E6B Pad provides a revolutionary new way to compute functions and convert values. All functions are window based. Open various windows at the same time and arrange them over the screen. Use the "Compare Scenarios" function to save your computations and to quickly recall them. All window positions and setups will be saved as well. The Conversions Bar All conversion values are organized in a bar on top of the screen. Just slide to the desired section and enter a value. All others will be computed automatically. Course Plotter with World Map Use the Course Plotter to get Lat / Long Coordinates, distances, measure Tracks, set wind values and compute your Magnetic Heading. The Auto Variation function computes the Magnetic Variation (Declination) at all points on the globe using a complex algorithm. As you move across the globe the variation will be updated automatically and the Mag Compass rose will point to the magnetic north pole. Find Airports and Towns using the Find Locations function on three different map types. (if you use iOS 5 these maps will be provided by Google. If you use iOS 6 the maps will be by Apple) Wind Components Calculator Calculating your cross and headwind components can not be faster. Dial in runway and wind direction and set a wind speed. The E6B pad will calculate crosswind, head/tailwind component and present the results graphically. Graphic E6B with Demo Mode! Although the computer does all the necessary computations for you, the good old graphic E6B will live forever. So we have built in a fully animated graphic E6B with wind slider and calculator wheel. You can use either use it like you would use any E6B, by manually rotating the wheels or go to the -E6B Training Section-, enter the necessary values and hit DEMO. My favorite feature is the course plotter which instantly gives magnetic compass headings calculated using authentic isogonic magnetic variability. My only complaint is the city/airport location search bar, which in my ipad pro doesn’t seem to do anything at all. I’m hoping to update this through customer support. P.S. It would be a great addition if multiple winds aloft could be somehow entered to calculate optimal cruising altitude for best groundspeed. ### 4/5 — Graphical E6B Precision *2018-08-23, version 3.0* It appears there is a slight misalignment of the marks on the A and B scale. Or maybe it’s the display on my iPad. Checking simple conversions such as kg to lbs results in a small but noticeable error. Other than that, wonderful app. ### 5/5 — Exceptional teaching and operational tool *2018-07-19, version 2.9* This is one of those tools that is useful from Student to ATP, and from Ground School to Flight Level. ### 5/5 — Incredibly Useful *2018-04-03, version 2.9* This is the most useful aviation app I’ve found, aside from my EFB and another great weight & balance app by this developer. It takes a very complex set of calculations, presents them in a way that makes sense, and makes the user interface touchscreen simple. I really like the conversions that are visible at all times in the calculator screen. The ability to use the old school whiz wheel is very cool, I wish I’d had that when I was a student! ### 4/5 — The app *2018-02-27, version 2.9* I’m using the app just recently. The first thing I noticed is that when you planning route you need to calculate each single leg separately. The app is not showing all the headings and times for all the route at once on one screen. Great for pilots makes it so much easier! ### 4/5 — E6B conversion rings mismatch a little. *2016-04-10* On the conversion side (slide rule) of the Classic E6B, the outer and inner rings don't match perfectly across the full range of values so this introduces small errors for many calculations. This could present a danger for altitude calculations. Unfortunately this fault is likely to void the use of this rather good product for professional aviation. Hopefully this can be corrected fairly soon. E6B Pro Pad Ver: 2.1 ### 5/5 — Awesome app! *2015-09-21, version 2.0* As a student pilot I find this app extremely useful. It does just as it says in the description. I've been using it for a while and I'm still discovering new features. The user interface is very intuitive. The animated E6B mode teaches you how to use the thing graphically, at least for me it's so much easier to learn it this way.
