## What is Ear Prompter?

Copy arrives late. The lens still needs your attention.

Ear Prompter is for actors working with commercial copy, industrial and corporate scripts, hosting intros and their own pieces to camera. Record a guide in your own voice, hear it through headphones and rehearse your delivery on iPhone or iPad.

PRACTISE WITHOUT BUYING A DEDICATED RIG

Start with your phone, headphones and a short passage of copy. Record a relaxed read, listen back, then try speaking with it in your ear. Ear prompting takes practice. Give yourself a few goes to find the rhythm and make the words your own.

A GUIDE THAT FOLLOWS YOU

A recording on repeat keeps playing at its recorded pace. Ear Prompter uses on-device speech recognition to follow your place in the script and adjust your guide as you speak. Choose whether your read leads by a few words or a whole sentence, which ear hears it and how loud it plays.

FROM COPY TO TAKE

- Write or paste your script, or try the sample.
- Record and keep a guide read in your own voice.
- Listen through headphones and rehearse the passage.
- Start an audio take and keep going with the screen locked.
- Make a video take with the camera as the stage and the script off screen unless you choose to show it.
- Play back your take. Try a different emphasis. Go again.

For commercial self-tapes, a hosting reel or a solo shoot, practise keeping your attention on the lens instead of a page beneath it. If you change the words, make a new guide read to match.

Free includes 3 reads, 3 listens and 3 kept takes per script: 1 script without an account, or 3 when signed in. The sample script does not use a script slot. Playback of saved reads and takes remains free.

GO FURTHER WITH PRO

Pro removes the rehearsal counts and adds sharing and saving takes, plus script sync with your account. Library and device storage limits still apply. Takes made before the 1.1 update remain exportable.

Pro is available as a three-month subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

Headphones are required. Available for iPhone and iPad on iOS 26 or later.

Keep going with the screen off Start an audio take, lock your phone and carry on. Ear Prompter keeps following you, and your headset button pauses and resumes the take.

The camera is the stage Video takes now put the camera first, so you look at the lens instead of reading. The script stays off the screen unless you turn it on. For takes on a tripod, the dark stage turns the screen down to black.

Hear where you are Short sounds in your ear tell you when a take starts, pauses and finishes. Choose which ear hears your read, and whether it leads you by a few words or by a whole sentence.

Nothing lost Take out an earbud, take a call or run low on battery, and your take pauses or ends cleanly, keeping what you recorded.

Clearer steps Read, Listen and Take are named and ticked off as you go. Search your scripts from the Scripts screen, or start a take from Shortcuts.

When something goes wrong Report a problem in Settings sends us a diagnostic report by email, and the app offers one after an unexpected close.
