## What is Ear to Eye?

Ear to Eye turns live conversation into words you can read without your eyes ever having to move.

Instead of scrolling captions, each word appears one at a time at a fixed point on screen, paced to match how fast the person is actually talking. A full transcript builds alongside it, so if you fall behind you can read back at your own speed, or tap any line to replay it on the big display.

Built for anyone who finds spoken language hard to catch in the moment but reads just fine, including people managing aphasia, auditory processing differences, or listening in a noisy room.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-10

Sharper transcription — and transcripts that correct themselves.

• On iOS 26, Ear to Eye can now use Apple's on-device conversational speech model, which follows natural back-and-forth speech better than before. The model downloads in the background the first time you listen, and Ear to Eye starts using it after that. Until then, and on earlier versions of iOS, transcription works exactly as it did.

• Transcripts now correct themselves. When recognition improves on something you have already read — a name, a number, a piece of punctuation — the saved transcript quietly updates to match. The word on screen is never interrupted, and nothing you have already read is replayed.

• Listening starts capturing the moment you tap Listen, so the opening words of a conversation are no longer lost while things get going.

• Long sessions stay smooth. The transcript no longer slows down as it grows.

there, right where you left it. Older days file themselves
under Transcript → Earlier, so a week of talks stays
organized instead of piling into one long page.
