Tap the colored tiles to hear their notes, then drag them so higher notes sit on higher rows and equal notes sit side by side. It starts with a single note and adds one per chapter, up to sixteen. Every board is built from a chord over gentle background music, so each puzzle sounds like harmony. Hearing how notes relate to each other is called relative pitch. Anyone can play 16 Tones, no musical experience needed. ## Key features - Interactive sound grid - Intuitive visuals - Gradually increasing complexity - Ear training and music learning - Relaxing, no-pressure gameplay - Suitable for all ages ## Pricing and in-app purchases Base price: Free. **One-time purchases** | Purchase | Price | Type | | --- | --- | --- | | Full Version | $7.99 | one-time | | Full Version - Intro Price | $2.99 | one-time | ## Is Ear Training Game safe? I also think it can help people who can already do this at a basic level to refine that ability. Regarding design: The colors are pleasing to the eyes, and the tones are pleasing to the ear. Also the combinations of tones in each round are well thought out. I like to play a little improvisation afterwards, the instrument is smooth and fun to play, and the developer clearly made space for this possibility. Finally, the act of rearranging the shapes on the screen is simple and intuitive. That said, there are some bugs to work out still. I encountered a level with enharmonic tones that the program didn't allow to be solved. There needs to be a way to reset, and to skip over a level that's not working. **Developer response:** Thanks for such a detailed review, and for noticing the improvisation mode! You also found a real bug: if you moved a tile just after the pieces briefly lined up correctly, the board could freeze. Fixed in 1.12. ## Frequently asked questions about Ear Training Game ### What is 16 Tones? 16 Tones is a relaxing musical puzzle game where you rearrange colored rectangles, each representing a distinct musical tone, to create harmonious melodies.
