## What is Ear Training?

Stop guessing what to practice next.

SolfègePRO turns your practice history into a focused daily plan. It finds weak intervals, chords, notes, and timing habits, recommends the next drill, and lets you start with the right settings already prepared. Train ear, rhythm, sight reading, singing, and guitar or bass fretboard in one place.

--- RESULTS THAT SHAPE YOUR NEXT SESSION ---

• See specific weak spots—not just one overall score
• Get a recommended next drill for each weakness and start it immediately
• Build a daily plan around your goal, instrument, level, available time, and weak areas
• Track change with day, week, month, and year reports plus a practice calendar
• Stay consistent with three-tier goals, streaks, badges, and Home/Lock Screen widgets

--- 9 WAYS TO TRAIN ---

• Rhythm: tap or clap; measure rush, drag, and consistency to the millisecond
• Rhythm Sight Reading: read a rhythm score and reproduce it by tapping
• Intervals: identify ascending, descending, and harmonic intervals
• Chords: recognize major, minor, 7th, diminished, augmented, root position, and inversions
• Scales: hear church modes, pentatonic scales, melodic minor, and harmonic minor
• Chord Progressions: connect function, Roman numerals, and chord symbols
• Sight Reading: practice treble/bass clef, key signatures, accidentals, and ledger lines
• Fretboard: six-string guitar plus four- and five-string bass; play back notes, intervals, and melodies by ear
• Vocal Solfege: sing from notation and receive pitch and rhythm feedback through the microphone

--- BUILT FOR A DAILY PRACTICE HABIT ---

Open today’s plan from the Home Screen, Lock Screen, Live Activity, or Control Center. Three goal levels make it easier to keep the habit even on short practice days.

Sixteen spotlight guides explain each feature on the real app screen, so you can learn a new training mode while using it.

--- FREE & PRO ---

• The 30–300 BPM metronome is completely free
• Try all 9 training modes with 10 shared introductory credits—no card required
• Keep practicing with Foundation settings after the introductory credits
• Pro unlocks advanced difficulty, ranges, playback choices, question counts, and deeper customization
• Monthly, yearly, and lifetime options; available plans and local prices appear on the purchase screen

--- MADE FOR ---

Musicians learning to transcribe by ear
Students preparing for music exams, auditions, or conservatory entrance
Singers building sight-singing accuracy
Guitarists and bassists connecting sound to the fretboard
Anyone who wants a clear daily practice path instead of another list of drills

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.3 — 2026-08-19

v1.4.3 - More reliable Vocal Solfege results

Bug Fixes
• When microphone input could not be measured reliably, the result now explains how to retry instead of showing it as a low singing score.

Improvements
• Singing scores now use only notes that were measured well enough for evaluation.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-08-14

v1.4.2 - More languages

• Added Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, and Italian
• Localized App Store copy and screenshots for each supported language
• Improved language matching so unsupported regional variants fall back to English

### 1.4.1 — 2026-08-14

v1.4.1 - Audio and Training Settings Improvements

[Fixes]
- Fixed an issue where fretboard training could mix bass, guitar, piano, or synthesized sounds within a single exercise
- Vocal Solfege reference notes and demonstrations now always use piano instead of inheriting the fretboard instrument
- Chord Progression preview buttons now respect the selected block or arpeggio playback setting

[Improvements]
- Refined the settings available during free use for focused fundamentals practice
- Recommended practice-plan sessions now follow the same free-use settings
- The 7-Day Growth Cycle is now a Weekly Growth Menu that can be expanded when needed

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-13

v1.4.0 - Vocal Solfege

[New]
- New training: Vocal Solfege. Sing the melody on the staff out loud and have your pitch and rhythm judged as you go
- Sing 8 to 64 bars in one continuous take. The staff shows two lines at a time and scrolls up as you finish each one
- Interval lets you pause for breath every 4, 8, 16 or 32 bars. At each pause you can hear the model performance, hear just the starting note, carry straight on, or finish
- Choose your Do position - low, medium or high - so the melody sits where your voice reaches comfortably
- New Pitch Check screen: pick a target note, sing it, and see how many cents off you are
- Metronome while singing, a count-in, and a real-time pitch display
- Vocal Solfege now appears in your weekly and monthly reports

[Improvements]
- The intro quiz now uses real interval names for its answers
- After the quiz, you can take a ~30-second tour of the 4 main screens - on the real screens
- All guides are now collected under Settings > How to Use the App
- Rhythm and Rhythm Sight Reading now use the same clear, large count-in display
- Clearer presentation of Pro-only settings - help stays readable even when a section is locked
- Minor internal quality improvements and adjustments

### 1.3.1 — 2026-07-28

v1.3.1 - How-To Guides & Widget Upgrades

[New]
- How-to guides for every training: a spotlight walks you through settings, the training screen, and your statistics on the actual screens (open from each screen's help, or Settings > How-To Guides)
- Lock Screen widgets and Control Center controls (iOS 18+)
- Smoother first launch: after your first session, you can save that practice as your daily plan

[Improvements]
- Rhythm training (tap mode) no longer stops your music playback
- Better fretboard training display (landscape layout, few-fret rendering, Melody Echo now plays the actual pitches of the positions shown)
- More accurate practice recommendations

[Bug Fixes]
- Fixed incorrect grading of minor keys in progression training
- Fixed several cases where practice plan settings were not applied to sessions
- Fixed the correct-answer sound not playing from the second question in sight reading
