My old time tracker had a widget and i loved being able to see on my phone all the time what i was tracking, would be a very helpful feature. ### 3/5 — Logged out all the time *2025-07-22, version 4.0.7* The amount of time this app logs out is so dismaying to me. There’s three places that could work, in browser, desktop and phone and whenever I need to login it just doesn’t work. Can’t you please programme it so it works with saved passwords? ### 3/5 — Good, but could be better *2023-07-03, version 3.6.4* I got my physical tracker almost 5 years ago and I love it. I have fallen out of the habit of using mine though because I’m not often at my desk anymore. And so I looked to the app. I love that there IS an app. But it’s missing some very key features. 1) Dark Mode Please bring dark mode to the app, there is so much white space and it’s blinding 2) Home Screen Widgets A widget would be game changing for me. The ability to see on my screen what’s tracking, or what entries I’ve made today, would be so amazing. 3) Apple Watch Integration Being able to start my tracker from my wrist would be so awesome and extremely useful. Heck, it would double the productivity use of my watch by itself! 4) Custom Colors. I find the color palette limiting and would love to be able to set my own custom colors. ### 2/5 — Admins make payments or else *2022-07-12, version 3.2.0* I was late paying by 1 hour and had to reset my whole subscription. That means re-invite all my staff. Assign roles etc. Basically rebuild the whole company. What the heck Timeular. Suspend the account. Looking for alternative app now ### 2/5 — Terrible Sub *2022-05-29, version 3.2.0* App falls well behind competitors like Toggl and Timing. No real data. Poor integrations. Constant bugs. Poor app design. Only redeeming quality is their proprietary tracker. Great idea but held back by a horrid app. Make it possible to directly connect the tracker to any service and you’ll have me buying more! ### 3/5 — Too complex interface. *2022-03-07, version 3.0.0* To make manual edits e.g. existing entries you have to enter the record then tap notes, the save the note tapping Save button, then save the entry by tapping again Save button. Even worse is tagging. There’s is not shortcut, on the keypad you need to find hash button, another two more taps. This should be easier. UX is behind in my opinion. ### 3/5 — Bait and switch *2022-03-07, version 3.0.0* Bought on the basis of being able to use it for free, then a year and a half later they stop offering a free, basic level and it requires a subscription. This is extremely alienating to your existing customers, who should just have been grandfathered in instead. The app itself is great, but this type of business practice makes me not want to support the company, even if the basic subscription is fairly reasonable. ### 2/5 — Severely Lacking *2021-12-30, version 2.6.5* For $5 or $9 dollars a month this app is extremely bare bones. The device seems neat but I never bought it cause for $69.99 AND STILL paying the monthly fee it’s just too much for how little the app offers compared to less expensive competitors. Two stars cause the app design is nice but there’s basically no features beyond just the plain time logging and even that is lackluster. ### 4/5 — Set goals in app *2021-12-09, version 2.6.5* I’d really love to be able to set goals and manage them in the app. ### 3/5 — Device and PC is great, but mobil app not so much *2021-06-08, version 2.4.0* I had this on my computer, until zscaler was installed which cut off all access to timeular’s api when my vpn is connected, which made the pc app comepletely unusable, because the pc app needs an internet connection at all times to run. So fast forward, I’ve now been using the phone app for a couple of months and it is incredibly barebones in comparison 😔 I find tracking to be such a chore again, and I’m not getting near the same level of detail or accuracy I was getting in the pc app, because having to pick up my phone to add notes is distracting, so I just end up a avoiding doing it altogether. Personally I think the mobile version is fine if you’re in a pinch, but using it like this 100% of the time makes me want to switch back to a webpage based competitor, even though it would mean losing the use of my Zei, which was the original reason I spent so much money to purchase this in the first place. 💔 ### 3/5 — Lacking features *2021-05-09, version 2.3.1* Decent but lacking a lot of features and the UX feels slow to get into tracking if you’re on the go. Unable to edit spaces on mobile and only able to add activities to the first space on mobile. Feels unfinished as these standard edit options should be there so you can actually use the app. You’re also unable to edit the order your spaces are in or create spaces on mobile, so if it so happens one of your most active activities gets listed at the bottom you’ll be scrolling down to it every time. Also adding icons to spaces on the computer is painful, you can only see 4 rows of icons at a time in a really really small window. Please make this bigger, there is no need for a window with icons the size of 8x8 or 16x16 to be so small, I have to squint. There’s no fast time tracking widgets if you’re into tracking activity on the go, so this app can get tedious and feel like a detriment with the constant opening, closing, scrolling to the task, starting the tracker and stopping. Analytics on the desktop are good however, and the only main reason to stay with the app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Login flow bugs *2026-01-05, version 4.0.7* Trying to log in says “This user does not exists [sic]. Please register”. Registration says “This user already exists. Please log in” (>.>) ### 1/5 — Bugs and logouts *2025-05-12, version 4.0.7* And I paid for it lol. ### 1/5 — Full of bugs *2025-03-12* Keeps dosconnecring from internet , forces you to pay a year upfront and logs you out once a week. Acctually wastes your time. ### 1/5 — An example of UX design failure *2025-01-25, version 4.0.0* Inputting entries via iOS app is way worse. How did you manage to launch a worse experience? Previous version was simple - new version not intuitive. You click to add an entry and it doesn’t even start at the most logical point. Will start on the 3rd or 7th minute above the hour or whatever. Then you spend 30 seconds just trying to get it to start in the right spot. It has a bouncy scroll (scroll down pulls you right back up) so reaching the button is impossible. Really poorly thought out/tested. ### 1/5 — Good idea, terrible execution *2023-01-16, version 3.4.8* App logs out for some reason and then gives constant errors trying to log back in… making the device unusable. ### 1/5 — Used to work *2022-01-05, version 2.6.5* Used to work great. Now the UI doesn’t load up properly (have to close and reopen the app constantly) and the hardware die doesn’t activate 50% of the time. When it does activate its not instant like it used to be. What did you guys do??? ### 1/5 — Tracker not pairing *2021-01-05, version 2.3.0* Tracker doesn’t pair with phone app properly. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Loving the new 4.0 update *2024-12-12* Very nice to see mobile be realigned with the features and design of the desktop/web apps. ### 5/5 — Really good app… but amazingly essential with the physical tracker *2023-08-06, version 3.6.4* The app is very nice and seamless between devices, but what makes it stand out is the physical tracker that can be purchased separately. It’s a bit expensive, the tracker, but once the muscle memory kicks in to which face of the 8 face shape has to to be up for the task you are wanting to track, all the rest is just simply transparent, no clicking no key shortcuts, nothing; all you need is to put the tracker task face up and it starts tracking. Then when you are don with the task just turn the tracker to the next, or if you have finished with it completely, put it back in its stand and all timers stop. The app has a few quirks, but nothing that can’t be sorted with a bit of dev work. One such thing is in the tracker pairing, it makes you go to the blue tooth menu of iPhone, you don’t see the new tracker to pair, but when you return to the app then the tracker in sure enough paird. Other thing to keep in mind is the cost of the subscription required after the trial to be able to use the tool in full: a bit expensive for home use. Love the balance between easy of use and its powerful features and reports. The fact that this subscription is 5/month isn’t terrible. But when I learned that they had a lifetime subscription but no longer carry that as an option made me second guess this program. I don’t want to buy the device and pay monthly to use it. I don’t have a perfect habit of using it yet, but when I do, flipping the dice immediately updates the app. The app itself looks nice, it is always very responsive, and it is mostly straightforward to use. The only things I can think of to improve would be an Apple Watch app for easy clocking in and more Shortcuts (Siri) integration for starting timers with your voice. Can imagine a future where the sides of the device are electronic screens where the screens graphics can be edited in much the same way as a Stream Deck.
