Highly recommend it! ### 1/5 — Buggy, can’t delete account in line with law *2026-06-14* App is buggy with buttons that don’t work, menus that have no exit path, etc. Seems vibe coded. On top of it all, there is no way to delete your account (required by law): attempting to do so just returns various error messages. Also, it is just not that good of an app, I found Earpeggio to be better for learning. **Developer response:** Thanks for the detailed feedback, that kind of report is useful. Account deletion is working. Tap the gear icon in the top right, open Privacy Settings, and it is at the bottom of that screen. It removes the account along with all training data. If you still have an account and want it gone, email info@earonman.com and I will confirm it is done. Bluetooth keyboards pair inside the app: iPhone does not list a Bluetooth MIDI keyboard in its own Bluetooth settings, so Guido, Harmonic Quest and Jazz Voicings open Apple's pairing window for you, and the keyboard turns up in the app on its own once it connects. SING IN SONG PRACTICE TOO Guido's song practice takes your voice, not just your taps. Both of its screens ask for a single note over a sustained chord, so both now offer the microphone and the live pitch reading. (Open Mic is a Pro feature.) A COURSE REVIEWED IN FIVE LANGUAGES Translating the lessons into four more languages meant reading every sentence closely enough to rewrite it, and the course is sharper for it. Explanations are more precise, and level names now use the same words as the answer buttons inside them, so a level never asks for one thing and calls it another. Every correction reached all five languages at once. Inversions in Functioneer now arrive two steps at a time instead of all at once. Progressions get a runway: four chords, then six, then all seven. The Voicings section opens with its easiest family first and grew new families - Block Chords, So What inversions, Kenny Barron and Herbie Hancock m11 stacks, and gentler openers for Drop 3 and Drop 2 & 4. Early levels ask for fewer correct answers (8, 10 and 12 instead of 15 across the first thirty), and voicing questions are now generated fresh in all twelve keys. A FAIRER GAME A failed or abandoned run now counts. Quitting mid-run or running out of lives used to throw your answers away; now they land in your stats and your streak, every time. A streak day is five correct answers anywhere in the app, and your day ends at your midnight - day boundaries respect your timezone. And in Open Mic, the first miss on a question is free, and the app waits for the note you settle on instead of grabbing the first one you hold. SOUND AND NOTATION Chord changes connect smoothly: the top voice now steps to the nearest note of the next chord instead of jumping around. Upper Structures no longer sound muddy. A NEW LOOK, FROM THE GROUND UP Earonman now has its own typefaces instead of borrowing your phone's: a serif for screen titles, a monospace for every number and score, and a clean sans for reading, so the three do different jobs. The background is a deep velvet lit from the top, carrying a grain so fine you are more likely to feel it than see it. Text is a warm cream rather than a cold white. Cards are lit from their own corner in their own colour instead of sitting flat on the page. Popups, tutorials and every other overlay now blur the screen behind them instead of only dimming it, so the text on top stays readable. TIMBRES: TWELVE WAYS TO WEAR IT A timbre is the colour of a sound, which felt like the right name for something that recolours an ear training app. There are twelve, bought with the EarCoins you already earn by training: Pressing, Stillness, Signal, Oxblood, Phosphor, Tweed, Panel, Walnut, Gatefold, Daylight, Fluoro and Concrete. Each one is drawn from somewhere records were made and played, from mid-century sleeve design to valve amplifiers and oscilloscope screens. Two of them are light, if you have been wanting that. Put one on in Settings and the whole app follows: backgrounds, text, icons, the level map's nodes, your stats and the dashboard grid. PRACTICE IS EASIER TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND The ten trainers are now grouped into five families - Distance, Stack, Key, Motion and Outside - instead of showing ten competing colours at once. Every setup screen was rebuilt underneath that: Start is the same button on every trainer, long option names are no longer cut off halfway, and anything you cannot pick right now is greyed out with a line telling you why instead of silently vanishing. Every practice type also has a new description saying what you hear and what you do. EVERYWHERE ELSE Chat lessons take the new look, with message bubbles lit in the speaker's own colour. Quest rows in Stats fill with light to match your accuracy, so you can read how you are doing across trainers at a glance.
