## What is EarTester?

EarTester is a free companion application to EarMan. It tests your ear training skills at a proficiency level achieved when completing the EarMan curriculum. Intervals are automatically replayed when a wrong guess is made and are sounded together with a maximum range of 6 octaves. In addition the replay button in the toolbar can be used. EarMan considers 80% as a passing grade, but you might want to aim higher. EarTester uses the same high quality samples that are used in EarMan and also displays intervals in music notation.

Ear training skills are not static. Even after having completed the EarMan curriculum it is a good idea to challenge yourself from time to time to see whether it is advisable to have another go at it. EarTester can also be used in conjunction with EarMan to simply gauge the progress that is being made or maybe just to evaluate your skill level in general. The main point is to keep your skills up. If you do a quick session on EarTester and find yourself anywhere near the 80% region, it is high time to get back to practicing. The good news is that like a well-maintained body, your ears will get back to their usual selves faster every time.

### 1/5 — Its Garage;

*2018-08-22, version 1.7.3*

No útil, no good , do not work.

### 2/5 — An untalented app.

*2013-01-28, version 1.1.1*

This app can only do very difficult intervals separated by multiple octaves.

There are no levels or options. The app has very limited capabilities.
In order to refresh the ear test, one must exit the app and renter it.

### 2/5 — Notes have very high frequency...

*2012-12-22, version 1.1.1*

Man.... Not even cats and dogs can hear that!

### 5/5 — Very good

*2012-04-08, version 1.1.1*

I don't think some users are listening hard enough, or maybe they are slightly tone deaf, I have used it and it is spot on, it has caught me out a good few times. I give it a 👍

### 1/5 — Pas terrible

*2012-02-01, version 1.1.1*

Mauvais son, difficile d'identifier les intervalles proposés.
Pas de réglage. Dommage.

### 2/5 — Good try

*2011-08-13, version 1.1.1*

It was a good try using intervals larger than an octave but they need to make sure you can actually hear both notes

### 3/5 — Interesting

*2011-07-27, version 1.1.1*

It works, but often presents a very wide interval (up to 5 octaves I think). Please update to allow constraining to narrower intervals!

### 1/5 — J ne comprend du tout pas cette aplic

*2011-04-06, version 1.1.1*

C nul

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2010-07-15, version 0*

'nuff said

### 1/5 — No good

*2010-06-05, version 0*

You have to tell what interval is being played but you can only hear one note.. So you'd think oh that must be unison. Nope - wrong- it's actually a major 3rd??? This app is b**locks
