Other than that I would have given this app a 5 Star keep up the good work hopefully you guys can update that bug in the future. ### 2/5 — Watch out for LegalZoom *2024-02-22, version 1.7.7* This service seems OK when you used Legal Zoom to sign up. What they don’t tell you is you are only getting a year’s promo rate through Legal Zoom. Their customer service also isn’t the best. Took multiple attempts to get an issue understood firstly and then resolved. My issue was never truly resolved or explained. There’s other services that are more affordable. One thing I give them credit for (2 stars and not 1) is they reimbursed me some charges that were unexpected. ### 5/5 — Absolutely worthwhile *2023-09-26, version 1.6.38* We registered with EarthMail as part of our emigration process, and it has been absolutely worthwhile. It has proven so useful that I wish we had done this years ago , when we lived in the USA full time. It is reliable. *2023-08-22, version 1.6.36* I love ECM. I hate opening mail. Here's how it works for me: 1) I receive mail at my ECM box 2) They open it, scan it to PDF, and auto-archive to Dropbox. 3) Open app, evaluate images, archive 99%, and ship the rest to my home. The app makes this process easy, and it opens the door to delegating mail room tasks. It saves me time, and provides peace of mind that I'm automatically archiving all of my mailed bills, documents, etc in a searchable format. Game changer. ### 2/5 — Ha! Price has to be a joke *2023-02-22, version 1.6.24* Two stars because app looks nice. First of all, any of the lower level plans only have one address is Oregon but start well above the monthly cost of any service I’ve ever seen. Business plans limited in # of items and almost $200 a month! I’ll stick with $14.99/month and my choice of addresses with no limit on the number of people who may receive mail there. Do yourself a favor and shop around first. They have the iPad in landscape (horizontal) not portrait (vertical) orientation. This app needs a landscape layout so that it is useful when using the iPad with Apple’s keyboard cover. Until then, I have to use the web site via Safari. Update: they just added landscape for the iPad, and the app is now finally usable on the iPad with Apple’s keyboard! Upped my rating to 4 stars. Still some quirks with the service at times. ### 5/5 — Great Mail Service! *2020-12-20, version 1.1.4* A must have for everyone who travels or lives away from home for their work! ### 5/5 — Fully featured and functional *2020-05-20, version 1.0.5* With their latest releases the past few months adding the shipping feature and Touch ID, the app control of ECM service works fantastic! I was critical in post reviews based primarily on these two missing features, but now I don’t see anything wrong with the app. I’ve been using this service over 10 years by now and love the ease of using the app. Now if I can just figure out how to get ECM scans synced to Dropbox I’ll be set. ### 5/5 — Works just like email *2020-02-01, version 0.1.4* Great app for a great service. Easy to use and reminds me of my email app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Money Trap *2024-05-07, version 1.7.10* The cost of this service is completely erroneous I’m my opinion! ### 1/5 — Changed address with the most unapologetic email I have ever received *2023-12-20, version 1.7.4* Earth class mail is a sinking ship. Get out while you still can. ### 1/5 — How is this so well reviewed? Predatory design *2023-10-17* It would be so easy to have an automated shred after 30 days. Instead, you 1. have to risk having your mail shredded instantly or 2. have to risk not shredding prior to 30 days and getting charged. Extreme designs like this are clearly made to maximize fee incursion. No other word than predatory! ### 1/5 — Long delays and hidden fees *2022-05-11, version 1.6.4* We’ve used the service for probably four years. During that time, they consistently raised their prices and never improved about a two week lead time from the time that mail was sent until the time it was scanned in. They use local addresses, but they forward all of the mail to Oregon to be scanned. This of course takes time. For years, they hid the “storage fees“ that were accumulating on certain pieces of mail that weren’t immediately shredded. They recently changed this option to make locating which pieces of mail were accumulating storage fees easier to find, but It was still a nasty practice to begin with. When we finally canceled our service, having found a much quicker and better option, not to mention way less expensive, they charged us an extra month and on top of that a $50 “cancellation fee.” You would think for this “cancellation fee“ that we would be able to continue to view and download our mail from their system perhaps for the next month or so. However, of course that is not the case. Access was immediately terminated, and in fact, it seems like we are blocked from even attempting to reset the password to login. There are much better options out there. My only issue is with the receiving of mail. It takes a few days extra for them to receive mail. Once received, another 1-2 days to open and scan. My latest stimulus check arrived to ECM on the 28th of may. It was not scanned until the 1st of June. That’s 4 days later, but it arrived the same day as my other mail and those pieces were scanned 1 at a time from the 28th-31st. My stimulus sat longer waiting to be scanned, it was finally scanned but at 4:24pm on June 1st. I requested a “check stream deposit” same day but after 5pm which means that the check would need additional days to be sent to my bank. It’s now June 4th. The check is still sitting in the queue to be sent to my bank. Even when I’ve requested expedited shipping which costs an additional $20. This service is too much of a luxury honestly. I’m not sure if I can afford waiting days/weeks for important documents/checks. I am thinking about canceling this service. Please hire more people to work for the mail processing locations in Atlanta ! ### 1/5 — Slow scans *2021-01-05, version 1.1.5* Scans take a long time, several items have had the original scan taken but then the items were lost. Seeing as these were large checks it was a large issue. Also customer service has not been helpful. ### 1/5 — Was decent, now unusable *2020-08-14, version 1.0.7* I have used this app since launch. For some reason the last week or so I can’t even use it. Every action takes forever with the spinning ball. Literally 30-60 seconds for each action I click on. Can’t use it. Have to go back to the web app now. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t even understand how to log in *2020-01-02, version 0.1.2* This app doesn’t even understand how Earth Class Mail works. For example, it doesn’t recognize my username. It appears that the developer thinks that all ECM user names are e-mail addresses. Mine is not and never has been. Using an e-mail address as a user name introduces security vulnerabilities anyway, so it’s a bad practice. ### 2/5 — Review of app not the service *2024-05-07, version 1.7.10* I will save my comments about the service for elsewhere. However, I think they charge way too much to have such a useless ipad app. I can only add legitimate shipping addresses from the website using a browser. In the ipad app, the country drop down list doesn’t work and seems to be stuck on Australia. Great work! ### 5/5 — Huge recent price changes for the worse unfortunately *2023-11-17, version 1.7.3* This service is great, but they just announced pricing changes effective at the beginning of the year that increase the cost by 50% and decrease the number of mail items included in their personal plans by 85% - going from 50 items included down to 5. Just a wild price increase that came out of nowhere, and renders the service unrecognizable from a value standpoint.
