### 2/5 — Not showing recent major earthquakes

*2025-08-03*

I’ve used this app for years and have loved it however I’ve noticed recently that it is not showing a lot of newer earthquakes. I thought it was just a glitch and that it would fix itself will it hasn’t. We recently had an M 8.8 - at Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. This is not in the app. Also Many other large ones ranging up to 6.9 at the same location and only a few above six are shown. The 6.9 is not there. The M6.8 at Macquarie Island region is not there. A M6.5 Indonesia, not there. Many many many earthquakes are not there. I am looking at the USGS 7 day feed. I have tried loading different feeds, and they all say that the server is down and this has been going on for weeks.. I tried deleting and reloading the app. It did not work. There are no updates. I’ve tried it on three different devices. It’s the same. I’ve even tried to use the atlas which does not work by the way. It’s always blank. I don’t think this app has been updated for quite some time. Perhaps it’s time.

### 4/5 — Great but,

*2020-11-22*

I really like this app a lot. For the price that we are paying for this couldn’t you make it save settings so that the next time I open the app it has saved my settings?

### 4/5 — Good

*2020-11-02*

I like this app. As far as I know it’s the only one available for iOS with these features.

I would however like to suggest that the date and time countdown remain on the top right hand corner instead of disappearing when I touch the screen to move around the globe to view the seismic events. It’s a bummer that when I touch the screen the date and time countdown disappears. Please fix!!!

### 2/5 — Stopped Working

*2020-10-19*

Loved this app until about 2 weeks ago when it just stopped working any ideas????

### 3/5 — Ok but not ok

*2020-04-29, version 3.97*

Its a ok source of information all together and a good source of quick info. I’m guessing the USGS is it’s main feed and they don’t always post every earthquake. For example the 6.6 that happened off the south Easter cost of Cuba on 4/29/20 at 2:30 est

### 4/5 — WORTH 1000 WORDS

*2018-08-26*

Very nice app. I like being able to preset rotation speed, and flip through several views quickly seeing worldwide events at a glance. Waiting for alerts and hybrid geo-textured satellite views for another star.

### 4/5 — Still learning

*2018-06-04, version 3.96*

Saw this on Dutchsinse YouTube channel.
I wish this version had his notification sound, that tolls the magnitude number.
Other than that, a bit confusing as it seems to not keep my settings and you can only zoom in a little, but it is fun to keep at it and learn more.
Currently this is not my go-to earthquake monitor, perhaps it will be later.

### 1/5 — Can’t set certain location. Only need for California, not the whole world.

*2018-02-23, version 3.92*

Can not set for a certain area of the world. Graphics areygood.

### 5/5 — Almost excellent

*2017-09-30*

An elegant programming feat.

Now if it just had the topographic view, labeled #3 on the PC version.

Gives added value for the price.

### 2/5 — Connection Issues

*2017-09-24*

I bought this app just yesterday. It appeared to be updating just fine, yet 24 hours later, there is a major connection issue. EQ data from yesterday is not appearing any longer and most of today's activity is absent. I find this very disappointing considering I paid for this app. Something needs to be resolved. Buyer beware!

**Developer response:** It sounds like you have the filters set to give you a partial DATE window -- which will limit the number of displayed Earthquakes. If the app is unable to connect to the currently selected feed source (USGS, EMSC, etc.) it will show you a connection error message -- and then offer to select a different feed connection. If you can't figure out how to get back to the original default settings, the easiest thing to do is remove the app and then re-install it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Missing a lot of data

*2021-12-23*

Missing hundreds of earthquakes daily. Not sure what the source data is, but it’s vastly incomplete...and the app is 4 years old?

### 1/5 — Simply doesn’t work

*2019-08-06*

Bought it a year ago after the Lombok quakes. As did my husband and another friend here. Theirs works fine. Mine won’t even open. Last year contacted developer and they were unable to help. Suggestion was a new phone. Got a new phone and it still doesn’t work. Very disappointed as it would be useful where I live.

### 1/5 — Junk!

*2019-07-09, version 3.96*

Do NOT buy. Waste of money. Worse than free apps.

### 1/5 — Very Disappointed

*2019-07-07*

I am disappointed for a paid app. Not sure if it’s because I’m just not familiar with how to use the app or what, but they don’t even provide a link one how to use the features. The features they say the app has, I am not seeing them. I don’t see the volcano overlays, don’t see the option to import maps from other sources, can’t click on earthquake magnitudes to get details, etc. This was the whole point as to why I bought this app and I don’t have nearly half of the features I am supposed to have. Extremely disappointed.

### 1/5 — Is NOT accurate whatsoever

*2019-07-07*

California just had a 6.4 magnitude earthquake followed by a 7.1 and it’s not even showing. I know dragged the scales on the magnitude and age gauges and they aren’t even showing on this app. I am very disappointed. I will stick to my Earthquake 3D from Dutchsinse on my pc, which was FREE by the way. It’s accuracy is on point. I feel dumb for paying for this garbage.

### 1/5 — Do not waste your money

*2019-07-05, version 3.96*

Awful application... Don't spend your money

### 1/5 — Won’t Show Recent Quakes Correctly

*2018-07-30*

I’m very dissapointed with this app. It doesn’t provide access to worldwide quake data, only 5 or six earthquake monitoring sites, with only the most basic of info., plus it’s now removing quakes that are 24 hrs old from its two day old monitor, meaning yesterday’s quakes aren’t even showing up unless I set the monitor to past 5 days! (And it keeps defaulting to ONE DAY old!

**Developer response:** Please learn to use the app before complaining. Earthquake feeds and filters control what is displayed. If you get confused you can always revert to the factory settings. One star reviews are the mark of trolls for an app like this.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2018-07-25, version 3.96*

Junk

### 1/5 — Do not buy until fixed, imo.

*2018-04-24*

I emailed the developers in September 2017 and was assured that iOS 11 Support would be coming soon. Nothing has happened since, it still crashes on opening and so is totally useless.

### 1/5 — Uh??? Needs work

*2018-03-10, version 3.92*

App needs more options in settings. Very generic. Talk to USGS for more ideas. I will say one thing I like the pictures of earth and the disco colors. Awesome when ur at a party. Best of luck!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — tjane

*2025-07-23, version 3.97*

always interesting and spot on!

### 5/5 — Earthquake

*2024-08-06, version 3.97*

Love the app showing almost everything you can think of. I would love to see the Gleason map of earth used showing all four views of the quakes. It would be very interesting to see the results.

### 5/5 — Incredible tool!

*2024-08-01, version 3.97*

This is one of the most impressive apps I have had the pleasure to use! It is not only informative, it is educational. The user interface can be configured in so many ways, it’s impressively useful and fun to explore. I wish it had more data in Canada but maybe we don’t have any? The one feature I wish it had was: when you slide the age slider, I wish it had a mode that displayed the earthquakes sequentially rather than cumulatively. Excellent app, highest rating and respect!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-04-19*

This app is amazing! Note: Read the directions thoroughly, Once you understand them, A whole world awaits.
Incredible displays and information!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2020-01-15, version 3.96*

App works well for me. Well done.

### 5/5 — Awesome App!!

*2019-11-25, version 3.96*

This is an overall great app. Completely functionable. Many different options, no annoying ads. Everything is in live time. Similar to something Dutchsince uses. Best earthquake app ever in my opinion!😁

### 5/5 — Well worth it

*2019-08-22, version 3.96*

Love this app, very useful informative and accurate. The 3D pic is very helpful to visualise the info. Recommend the app!

### 5/5 — Five Stars!

*2019-07-05*

This is a great app. Love the globe graphics, the abilities of the app, everything. This biggest reason to buy the app was the response from the developer—in October, I assume from last year—to a critical, one-star reviewer. The response from the developer was gold!

### 5/5 — User

*2019-01-14, version 3.96*

Great App. After learning about it watching Dutchsines on YouTube I'm learning and now checking trends myself.

### 5/5 — Amazing Data

*2017-12-04*

Following Dutchsinse for years, I was always disappointed that I couldn’t follow along on my Mac. This is truly the next best thing. There’s a detailed tutorial which is a great help in the first setup and a great FAQ for new users. Most importantly, I can choose my data feed. I would highly recommend this app. It is worth every penny.
