When you place an order for delivery, it automatically signs you up for a membership without your consent and starts charging your bank account through direct debit for months without any notification or email. You only find out after checking your bank statement or transaction history. What’s worse is that they can charge you even without your bank card being linked to the app payments can go through Apple Pay or other methods without clear authorization. I strongly urge Apple to stop allowing this app to connect with Apple Pay or even be available on the App Store. I specifically paid extra for express delivery based on this estimated delivery time. However, my order did not arrive until 7:41 pm — approximately 24 minutes after the latest estimated delivery time. The driver appeared to ignore the express delivery service I had paid for. In fact, I was even advised by the driver that I should not pay extra for express delivery because “it doesn’t really work.” This is extremely concerning and raises serious questions about why customers are being charged for a service that, according to the driver, may not actually function as advertised. The food arrived cold and in poor condition, with some items soggy and wet. After contacting customer service, I was eventually offered $7 compensation and a refund of the express delivery fee. While I appreciate that some compensation was provided, this does not change the fact that the experience wasted my time and caused significant inconvenience. I placed the order based on the delivery time provided, and I would not have placed the order if I had known it would arrive so late. The most disappointing aspect was the misleading delivery information and the poor handling of the express delivery service. If customers pay extra for express delivery, the service should be properly recognised and honoured. EASI should also ensure that the estimated delivery times shown to customers are accurate and reliable. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
