The layout keeps it straight, is easy to navigate as it is organized in such a manner as to be very helpful. And cheap! A hard bound Bible is about $40. This is well worth the price and twice that as the footnotes are precious. ### 5/5 — Great app. Would love to use on iPad too *2013-03-24* This app is great and it makes navigating this translation of the Bible very easy. I also enjoy this developer's Orthodox Study Bible app, and hope that its handy "Today's Reading" feature gets ported over to this EOB app when possible (I assume the developer is waiting on the Old Testament translations to be completed). Regarding the EOB as a Bible translation, I have heard good things about its accuracy, though I myself am unqualified to evaluate this. I do though find it to be very readable and appreciate the extensive footnotes and introductions to each book. Would love to use both apps on my iPad too. Thank you for very easy to use and cleanly designed apps. ### 5/5 — Great job *2013-01-30* Nice job of finishing up the New Testament of the EOB. Hopefully the Old Testament and the Psalter will be ready soon. Landscape mode would a good idea too. In addition, can you make an option to display the footnote of a particular verse that is selected (instead of flipping the screen by tapping the I button on the top right)? God bless. ### 5/5 — Outstanding and Accurate *2013-01-25* The EOB, an accurate and truly Orthodox translation, far surpasses the watered-down, evangelical-orthodox hybrid that is the OSB. If the OT ever comes to fruition, the Orthodox - and all Christians - will finally have a genuine English translation of the Septuagint/ Patriarchal text. Harold ### 5/5 — Just what I've been waiting for! *2012-10-31* This is a superb New Testament version and an app that is packed with features. You can look up the text you want by jumping to specific chapters (so no need to scroll through millions of lines of text) or you can use the Orthodox lectionary feature that will tell you (and take you straight to) the readings for each feast/saint day. Roll on Greek version and Old Testament please!! ### 5/5 — Awesome program *2012-08-21* This Bible is great. I am happy that they render verses like Luke 11:28 in a way that is both Orthodox and the clear meaning of the text. The only complain currently is that the Orthodox Lectionary isn't available on the app... It says "no text available" or something like that when you try to open it. This would be an amazing fix! ### 4/5 — Orthodox *2014-09-03* Brilliant Orthodox Bible. I particularly enjoy the Eastern Orthodox aesthetics and the clear translation of The New Testament. However, be warned that this Bible does not contain The Old Testament. There has been assurance the OT will be added at later date, but thus far that has not happened. ### 4/5 — Excellent, but needs landscape mode *2012-12-13* I've been waiting for this for a long time, and am pleased with this app. Well worth the low price for what it offers. Unfortunately you can’t get it in hardcover, but I have two in soft cover and with this app I’m able to carry it around with me everywhere. In the NKJV (which is used for the New Testament in the Orthodox Study Bible) it says "a smoking flax he will not quench" That makes no sense. The translation has really grown on me and I now prefer using this one for readings and devotions.
