### 4/5 — Great app but needs pause

*2021-12-25*

Great app, just what I want but it needs a pause function. When something is not quite ready you want to put it back in for another 20mins…. How to do that without pause?

**Developer response:** The main feature of the app is to schedule the start time of steps so that all the items in your meal finish together. Pausing the timer would completely break that feature. Either all steps currently in progress would be extended by the length of the pause, or extending just one step would cause that item to finish later than all the others.

### 4/5 — Great app for timing meals!

*2020-07-13*

Does everything it says it does and more. I have just two recommendations for improvements:
- Share between devices and/or exporting feature. I’ve created a lot of meals that I would like to send to my wife.
- Identifying a step as active or inactive time. For example, if I put something in the oven for :20, I can complete steps for other items while it’s cooking. This will then give a more accurate completion time for the entire meal.
Those two items would easily make this a five star app for me.

### 5/5 — Great alternative....

*2016-06-15*

I just joined the apple world and was aware of a great meal planner called cook it timer. Unfortunately this is no longer available. Luckily ear now have this app. It's everything I could possibly want in a waterfall timer. I would have one comment, make a lite version limited to 30 min max and one recipe so people can try it out. If you are looking for a cook it replacement look no further.

### 4/5 — Great potential

*2015-12-30*

I love the idea of this app! I was sold with the description. After downloading and using it to create some recipes, the timers and alerts on my iPhone 6s and Apple Watch were incredibly useful! But I found some room for improvement.

A sync or share function would allow me to create recipes on my iPad and send it to my iPhone.

A pause function would also be useful in case something takes longer to cook.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2015-12-24*

Really useful app, especially for the big Christmas Day lunch that I'm cooking tomorrow (I've used it previously so have full confidence in it). Only other thing I'd like is to be able to synch the timer across my iPad, iPhone and watch, so I have the timing with me wherever I am. If that could be achieved I'd give it 6 stars!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2015-10-06*

One of these daily helpers you don't want to miss again :-)

### 5/5 — Linked timers all end at the same time

*2015-10-01, version 2.10*

Isn't the whole point of a multi cooking timer app to keep track of when to do each step so that everything finishes at the same time?

This app does that perfectly.

Others don't, they have multiple unlinked timers, this app links timers so everything finishes at the same time.

UI is slightly clunky but it gets the job done perfectly.

Thank you dev.

### 5/5 — Solid app for sequencing cook times

*2015-09-22*

Well-made app for coordinating the timing of many dishes to a single "ready to serve" target time. Supports multiple stages of each food's process, allows saving of repeat performances. Don't skip the tutorial, very helpful to orientation.

### 5/5 — Just what I wanted

*2015-08-02*

So many programs just do a simple timer but this aggregates all your timers so everything finishes together. Very flexible and simple.

Would be nice to set a time that you want to eat and then let it count down to there, but can't see a way of doing that yet.

### 5/5 — Simple, but effective

*2015-05-12*

I've used this quite a few times and it's worked well, though only for fairly simple meals. Just enter the cooking time for each item and does the calculations for you.
I manage much better with this app now.
Would be good if they could add feature to share meals with other users, but minimalist approach is much appreciated.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2015-01-12*

Perfect for those big complicated meals where everything needs different cooking times or where there are many stages to a dish. I looked at several different apps which claimed to do similar kind of thing, but none had depth of functionality, nor the ease of use and streamlined interface of this one.

Really comes into its own for things like roast dinners, when you don't need to be in the kitchen the whole time, but need gentle reminders when the next dish needs putting in the oven.

This was a lifesaver when hosting Christmas this year. All the meat / veg / trimmings timed to perfection.

A couple of little tweaks would be great though.

1. Multiple end times within one meal for different courses (starters, main, dessert etc) so you can have different dishes on the table at different times, but need to be prepared simultaneously.

2. A pre timer alarm. For example, if you need to defrost something from the freezer long before actually starting to cook.

### 1/5 — Easy Cooking App

*2021-11-25*

The app is not easy to use. I was unable to determine how to properly enter menu items and times to plan my meal. I do not recommend this app.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry to hear you found the app difficult to use. There is a comprehensive user guide and tutorial available from https://hacknicity.com/easycookingtimer/ which explains how the app works.

### 1/5 — Glorified Timer

*2015-04-05, version 2.8*

Glorified timer that I have seen for a lot cheaper or even free. Really over priced

### 1/5 — I wasted money

*2012-07-30, version 1.1.1*

Not worth paying for..

### 2/5 — A bunch of clutter

*2020-08-12*

Luckily a couple bucks, but a lot of trouble and steps you can’t sort or move in edit menus buried in sub menus and timers that look like steps and vice versa. You become more concerned with planning and organizing your menu than just getting the cooking going or making a paper list. For me, it had a learning curve and didn’t work for my purposes. Maybe that’s just not how I work in the kitchen. Will delete so it’s not another timer app weighing down my screen space.

### 3/5 — Can’t adjust after timer starts

*2023-06-11*

Wish it would let me check off the steps that finished and adjust to while finish time

### 3/5 — Too noisy

*2023-06-04*

Can’t understand there is no facility to customise the alarm sound.
A simple option to adjust the volume or turn it off entirely would encourage me to use the app - I just find the current alarm too annoying to use the app, sorry.

### 3/5 — Useful but...

*2021-05-01*

Would be 5* if there was the option to pause it. Sometimes I need a minute to do a step but there’s no way to tell the app to pause the timer and then unpause when I’ve done it!

### 3/5 — Not useful for me

*2020-05-29*

This is a competent interface and programming style but I found it ultimately of little use. The program schedules a meal so that all your dishes are ready at the same time. I like this concept but it is inadequately supported.
You can plan a meal by typing in all your dishes but there is no library of cooking times and you cannot move your dishes to new meals. As presented, every meal begins with new typing or awkward joining incomplete meals. Because you can’t sort or manage dishes your typed detail is pointless. There is little reason to not use simple event timer.

The programmer was very responsive and polite. I hope the app will extend with buyer feedback. This is meant to be honest and not harsh.

### 4/5 — Very good, little apps

*2024-09-29*

Just wish I could copy the cooking times from my iPhone to my iPad

### 4/5 — Great idea, needs a few tweaks

*2022-12-20*

I use this for Christmas dinner, but it would be great if it let me do four things. 1/ Add a bit more time to an item when the timer is running but the cook hasn’t begun. 2/show the temperatures of all the items in a menu to see if there’s some way to share two meals in the same oven by altering times or shelves. Perhaps by colouring each item by temperature? Or just showing the temp and convection mode for each dish. 3/export to iCal the entire cook to remind you to visit the app 4/sync the meals to my iPads to free up the phone

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nice and simple

*2024-12-18*

I was looking for a simple timer app for cooking Xmas dinner and this fits the bill. Only thing I’d change is to be able to reorder the steps for individual food items.

**Developer response:** You can reorder the steps for an item by tapping the Edit button then dragging the steps up and down.

### 5/5 — Extremely useful

*2023-02-22*

This app has one job, and does it perfectly. It makes juggling different parts of recipes so easy. The ability to put together a one-off meal is one I use all the time. The only thing I long for is the the ability to store the recipe data on iCloud – I’d like to be able to use the app on my iPad, because my eyesight isn’t what it was, but I don’t want to type it all in again. That small quibble aside, it’s just great.

### 5/5 — Excellent timer

*2023-01-17*

Very useful timer and easy to set up once you’ve had a bit of practice. The user guides are very well written and comprehensive.
I find the ability to set the required ready time is most useful and this sets it apart from other timers I’ve tested
Thanks

### 5/5 — Fantastic App!

*2021-01-10*

Well worth the money, makes cooking so much easier

### 5/5 — Changed my life in the kitchen

*2020-12-25*

I used to cook a lot until my wife took over - I wasn’t bad, just optimal division of labour. I tend to follow recipes (with a little flair). The hardest thing is timing everything to arrive at the destination at the same time. This app has really nailed it - simple to set-up and then press GO. You can track what’s done, what’s in process, and what’s coming up. With little timer clocks and notifications of course. I’m no longer intimidated undertaking a complex meal and can close the cookbooks very early and let the app do the rest (more or less). Well done!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-10-26*

No more burning the chicken while the potatoes finish cooking. This great little app takes all the guesswork out of preparing everything from a simple single pot recipe to a multiple course meal. And what really “put the icing on the cake“ is the prompt and thorough support the developer provides. As someone who loves to entertain, this has made my life so much easier and cooking so much more enjoyable.

### 5/5 — Great app - have been waiting a long time for this

*2018-11-02*

Such a simple idea but very well executed. Have been waiting a long time for a cooking timer that tracks multiple dishes to a single fixed finish time. Thanks for making this app.

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2017-08-30*

So far I'm impressed with the app. Loading it up with my usual items to cook and will give it a try for a couple wks. Will update my review if for some reason it starts performing badly but as of now it's perfect!

### 5/5 — Great

*2017-01-03*

Used this for a complicated Christmas dinner, it worked perfectly.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2016-12-29, version 2.11.1*

I've used this twice now to cook Christmas dinner for 10 people. It makes it stress free! Well done on the app!
