The tool would be perfect with the ability to set a terminal type for the session. I’m migrating from Android, and was in search of good terminal app for a while. I tried, probably, every app in the store and all of them had something wrong with them. This one is how the terminal app should be: simple yet functional, good looking, native and lightweight. So ist das App nicht zu gebrauchen. ### 1/5 — Errors *2026-05-26* I setup connection It connects and I get shell it can run a command About 5 second after that I get a popup saying it failed to connect But I’m already connected if I run a command or not it still shows the error and disconnects ### 1/5 — Crashing on ipad *2026-03-24* Unfortunately, on an M1 iPad Pro the app crashes when selecting a server to connect to, thus the app is unusable. ### 1/5 — Only kinda Works *2026-02-23* App connects to remote Hosts fine, so it technically “works”. However, it loses Configuration and saved Keys on every update. Not really usable for serious system administration. We're committed to making things right and would be happy to help. ### 1/5 — Fails to connect *2026-02-17* I chose to use this app because I refuse to pay $40 for the “privilege” of being able to connect to my server using an SSH key. Unfortunately, the app made one good connection and when I switched apps to my browser, the connection died and the app refused to reconnect, it just repeatedly gave an NWConnection error or something that persisted through a system reboot on my iPad. The app doesn’t properly handle task switching and it doesn’t seem to cleanly drop a connection. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your review and for choosing Easy SSH! What you’re describing — a persistent error that survives even a reboot — is actually a strong indicator that the issue lies with the network connection between your iPad and your server, rather than the app itself. iOS strictly sandboxes all apps, meaning Easy SSH has no ability to interfere with connections in the background, and a reboot would fully clear any app state. Thanks again for your patience, and we hope to have this resolved for you soon! ### 2/5 — Good, but one major problem *2026-03-15* The GitHub repo for this app has the following message at the top of the README: “Important I am not maintaing this sample app, and it has a number of bugs, among them the IO Integration with SSH which cause data to be lost, and thus the rendering is incorrect when it produces a lot of data.” This app is almost what I need. It has one big issue: when I switch to another app on my phone, Easy SSH disconnects from the server I’m connected to. I do Python programming using virtual environments. When this app disconnects, I have to reconnect and activate the Python virtual environment. This is not very convenient. I often have to copy/paste commands from Safari. This is a platform-level limitation we have very few options to deal with. Sorry for any confusion caused. ### 2/5 — Nice, but kicks you out of a session flipping between apps. *2026-02-11* Found this ssh terminal and love the UX, it is easy to use and seems solid with one big glitch that made me stop using it. If I am in an ssh session and tab to say another app like Safari, wait 2 min, flip back it kicks me out of the session. Installed tmux on the Linux/Ubuntu remote host, make sure iOS background settings were ok, even toggled on the Keep Display On, nothing worked. Bummer, I really wanted to like it. Behaves exactly how you’d expect from an SSH client. The file browser/downloader is a great feature and works better than the old paid app I was using. And of course no ads/paid upgrade is the cherry on top.
