### 5/5 — The best

*2015-05-03, version 1.7.2*

I've tried a few tsumego apps on the store but this is the BEST by far. All variations are shown and an ability to try out sequences so you don't need to guess if you get stuck. Once you are sure you can then solve the problem. I had a question replied to very promptly by the author. Top notch app, top notch support.

### 5/5 — A fantastic application for studying the game

*2015-01-24*

I purchased this app by accident when my finger slipped. It was a highly fortunate accident, as this app provided me with every feature I could hope for as a beginner studying the game on my own with no one to play against. If you're interested enough to be reading this review, odds are this app is just what you're looking for, and for me it was worth the money and I believe the developer has rightfully earned every penny.

### 5/5 — EXCELLENT

*2014-08-21*

One of the best Go app. The problem library is amazing. But the SGF editor is just fantastic, amazing and powerful. A really great job from developers.

### 5/5 — 3k IGS

*2014-07-09*

Hello, I feel like this is bar none the best Go tutor app on the market.. I have probably spent close to a hundred dollars on go apps through my Go progression (lame.. I know.) and none come close. When I purchased this app, I was stuck at 12k (igs), after a month of playing through the basic tutorials, and revisiting them. I hit 9k. It has been a year and a half since then, and I still use this program on a somewhat regular (and still am far from mastering everything here).

The best thing about this program, is that it ups the difficulty of the problems, as you progress. (you learn the basics of all that it offers - you will be somewhere around 9k., you start to master the life and death / tesuji, you will be some where around 6k.. and so forth) .. Most go programs that I have played with, feel VERY unlike actual game play, not so with this game.

I didn't think such a powerful tsumego app would exist one day, even in my dreams :)
For combinatorys, EasyGo is way ahead everything I know in any games (including in the numerous chess app) on any platform at this day so thanks to the author for this true gift for the go community.

### 5/5 — Favorite Go study app

*2013-08-04*

This is a great app - lots of ways to practice and study Go, good updates, and a responsive developer.

The "spaced repetition study" (SRS) mode is excellent and is now the standard way I study.

Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — The best SGF Weiqi editor

*2013-07-13*

In my opinion, this program beats Smartgo Kifu for best SGF editing capabilities. I love how this app can allow you to resize the goban (board) easily so you can see more to your liking in both portrait and landscape mode. The ability to create your own life and death problems is terrific. I also appreciate the ability to use the whole screen to view game thumbnail previews to scroll through - a great feature especially if you have large databases to choose games for further study.

Just wanted to point out EasyGo has the ability to try out solutions for problems before selecting your official answer to the problems. So if you get the answer wrong, you can go back to test more ideas before trying again. I think this is a great feature and really let's you think through problems interactively.

EasyGo has a terrific variation tree mode which lets you try out different lines when you're studying a game or planning your next move in a correspondence match via email. You can easily see the branch created and can select the line you want to study in more detail. I love this ability. Now I can easily study lines and it really helps me visualize where I might be going wrong.

The new feature to flip the board is a life saver because now I can see the flow of the game from my opponent's point of view. Best thing about that flip the board feature is if you select the option to send the game via email...EasyGo remembers the board point of view when sending the game. So when you open the game using another SGF editor...you'll be looking at the game with the point of view you want it to be in. Most SGF editors only allow you to see the games from Black's point of view. So this is great new feature.

### 5/5 — Amongst the top 3 go apps on iOS

*2013-02-16*

The latest version of Easygo has brought me a functionality I was waiting for long : a space-repetition program to help you hardwire go problems. The more you fail, the more frequently it will prompt you the problems helping you get through them by repetition.
The fact that you can add your own problems and therefore build up your own personalized program for study makes it a must have app for go players willing to improve.
I also appreciate the fact that the system varies the orientation and the color of stones so that you remember properly the shapes.

Aside from the problem piece, I particularly enjoy annotating games on Easygo. It is the only app available on iOS (so far) that I know of which offers a tree-like view of variations.

It's clearly a very good app and I place it amongst my top three with Smartgo Kifu (for its pro game library mostly and its nice looking interface) and Smartgo Books (books with dynamic diagrams).

### 5/5 — Good gogame

*2012-12-15*

Nice app for go exercise and a good support for Watch pro game by "go kifu". Very good

### 5/5 — EasyGo

*2012-07-16*

Easily the best go kifu and problem program on the iPad.
I have Kogo joskei dictionary, as well as my library of go problems on EasyGo.

I have been teaching my children how to play with the basic problems.

Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Great

*2012-04-08*

Really useful app, thrilled that it allows you to edit / create / upload your own problems. There's a few bugs but the developer is very quick to respond and is working on fixing. Considering how new it is, im surprised how robust it is. The graphical move tree is also terrific.

I use this more than SmartGo now and its cheaper

### 5/5 — Cool!

*2012-03-05*

I load Kogo's joseki dictionary and it works! Now this app is the best for me, thx to author

I like this app more than Smartgo Kifu.
+
Comparing to SmartGo this app has tree view. It is very very useful when reviewing games with variations or joseki etc
It is also easy to import sgf to the app.
I imported some sgf with russian comments created by KGS editor and all works fine

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ce n'est _pas_ un jeu de go

*2016-02-10*

### 3/5 — Good but crashes often

*2018-02-09*

Trying to open tygem games lead to crashes every time

### 3/5 — New study feature

*2013-02-20*

I enjoy the new study feature; the program will remember your mistakes & stagger the repetition so you see the harder ones more often until you've learned them. Also, the latest update has beautiful stone graphics!

### 3/5 — Great game but.....

*2012-08-10*

The is a great editor and game player. I have Smartgo kifi but Easygo have several different features i like, however the graphic could use a big boost. I get a little disappointed when I open this app due to the cloudy graphic. Give that a overhaul and this app will be able to really compete against Smartgo. Can we get that in the next update? It will get 5 star when better graphic is delivered.

### 3/5 — Splendid!

*2012-01-11*

Very nice! The function to add the files is good! I like it.

### 4/5 — Nice app

*2013-03-03, version 1.4*

It could be een better with randomised problems

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Terrific!

*2019-07-28*

This is the best Go study app on the market, hands down. The space-repetition study feature alone is worth every penny. Great support too.

(Are there any more problem sets coming?)

### 5/5 — Great problem library

*2018-09-24*

This app has a great problem library. Also, you can easily load Kogo’s joseki dictionary and interactively practice the sequences.

It’s too bad there is no version with a Japanese interface.

### 5/5 — Great Go Study Companion

*2018-08-28*

Ideal for study every day! So many problems and they are well-organized. Also, spaced repetition is a very powerful tool.

### 5/5 — A very nice Go app

*2017-10-25*

Do the exercises included and you will definitely improve your level.

Also it helps when you review your own games in Tygem.

The developer responds quickly and do listen to users feedback.

### 5/5 — Great update

*2016-08-25*

Update makes an already great app even better. Wifi transfer and enhanced tagging make it really easy to create and collect problems on your computer, organize them with tags, then directly load them onto your phone or iPad.

### 5/5 — Excellent learning tool

*2016-06-29*

The spaced repetition study feature is exactly what I've been looking for. Being able to add in my own problems and then study them has helped me learn more efficiently. The app has many nice features, but its study mode really sets it apart from similar apps.

### 5/5 — Helped me improve a lot

*2016-02-27, version 1.8.2*

This is my favourite app for studying tsumego ( I have tried several ) and especially making my own .

You can download zip files of problems and unzip them really easily.

I use the Spaced Repetition System where you can practice more difficult problems, as you judge it , more often than the easier ones . The SRS is fully customisable.

### 5/5 — Best app for studying go problems

*2016-02-01, version 1.8.2*

EasyGo and Smartgo Kifu are the two main go apps that I use. They have different features and purposes. EasyGo is the best app for studying go problems. It has bundled problems and you can import sgf files or create and manage them on your iOS device. Latest in a long line of new features is printing to paper or pdf.

### 5/5 — Very pleased (still pleased after 1 year)

*2015-09-03*

I really like the problems and the SRS study system.

The developer is also very responsive to questions and requests.
