## What is EasyReminder ICS?

EasyReminder bridges .ics calendar files and your Reminders, both ways.

Import: pick or open an .ics file to write its to-dos (VTODO) straight into Reminders — title, notes, due/start dates, priority, completion, URL, plus time & location alerts and recurrence. Choose which list to import into; duplicates are skipped automatically.

Export: pick items from any Reminders list and save them as a standard .ics file to back up or share with other calendar / to-do apps.

Also:
• Shortcuts support for automating import / export
• Fully localized in English, 简体中文, and Español
• Native SwiftUI, sandboxed, collects no data
• Open source — code on GitHub

EasyReminder does one thing well: smooth, honest interchange between .ics and Reminders.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-08-25

New: choose whether to include completed to-dos when exporting Reminders (both All and individual lists)
New: inspect any row in the export list — to-dos and calendar events each show their own fields (due date / time zone / location / recurrence and more)
New (macOS): make EasyReminder the default app for .ics files in one tap
Improved: refreshed interface — both screens now use the system grouped style with the primary action in a floating bottom bar, adopting Liquid Glass on macOS 26 / iOS 26
Improved: on the import screen the whole drop area is the control — drop files onto it or click it to choose them
Improved: completed items are struck through and marked Completed, easy to spot and to deselect individually
Improved: Shortcuts can export a specific Reminders list, and lists and calendars are now pickers instead of typed names
Improved: the import shortcut reports what was imported and what was skipped, and accepts several files at once
Improved: complete English and Spanish coverage for the in-app release notes, shortcuts and prompts

### 1.6 — 2026-08-21

New: export Calendar events to ICS — pick a calendar and date range; repeating events export as rules
New (iOS/iPadOS): share the exported .ics directly (AirDrop / Messages / Mail); drag an .ics onto the window to import
New: the Import ICS shortcut can now send events to Calendar and skip previously imported items; added an Export Calendar ICS shortcut
Fixed: .ics files with time zones (TZID) were read in the device's zone and landed at the wrong time; they now import in their source zone
Fixed: complex recurrence rules such as multi-day weekly (BYDAY) were simplified to a single day; they now import and export in full
Fixed: opening an .ics from Files or the share sheet is more reliable — the app switches to the Import tab, and files not yet downloaded from iCloud are fetched first
Improved: single-occurrence changes to repeating events and cancelled events no longer create wrong entries; they are skipped with a clear notice
Improved: guidance to System Settings when permission is denied; same-named calendars are distinguished by account
Improved: completed English and Spanish coverage (permission prompts, shortcuts, Siri phrases)

### 1.5 — 2026-07-18

• Calendar events (VEVENT) in .ics files can now be imported into the Calendar app — pick or create a target calendar
• Post-import summary: tap any item for full details
• iPad now uses a two-pane layout
• Brand-new app icon

### 1.4 — 2026-07-14
